I checked the mofo out at Guitar Center and it seemed to have a really unique sound. And it seemed afordable - $430.

But I've heard from some people that its not a great buy. So I was just wondering if any of you guys had any opinions on it. And also, what do you think would be a good buy for the $600 and down price range. Preferably closer to $500.

Yea so what do you guys think?

I have the DX-1 and I like it alot, but I should have spent the little bit extra and gotten the DCX-1E because I ended up adding a pick-up anyway

A dm is much better than a dx-1. Dx-1's arent that great shop around some more.

oh, thanks guys. Captain i was talking about getting a DXM though, not a DX-1. DM's are a bit pricey...

I just wanted to say I played around on a DXM in a music store a couple of weeks ago...I thought it sounded great...definitely a unique sound. I couldn't tell you much about it...but the only thing I can say is, for a Martin, its a good price. Plus, since its a Martin you know its going to be great quality. I think it depends on what type of player you are and what you'll use it for. If you're going to just sit at your house and play...go for the cheaper. If you're a serious player, why not go to the $600+?

I don't know a lot about guitars, but thats just my .02 cents.

I've played one for a little while. It sounded a bit strange to me. I guess I didn't like the fact that it's not wood. It's some sort of composite material. I don't like that.

After having a DM and a D-15, I got rid of them and ended up buying a Washburn D12SCE. I absolutely love it and it was $300.

My opinion, though. Do what you will.

This is the 4th thread just like this that I replied by saying DO NOT buy a DX.......go up a couple bucks and buy a DM (or DR for $100 more......what I would do) or go down a lot of bucks, buy a Sigma, dont pay for it to say Martin on the headstock and get the exact same guitar as a DX. BJ
