Just bought a 2003 Taylor 514

It's a 514ce with the new expression system electronics. I've never heard a guitar sound exactly the same plugged in as it was unplugged. I went right from the guitar to a PA with no DI box or preamp of any sort and it truly is amazing. I can't put it down i'm so excited about it.

How much did you pay for it? What kinda amp do you use?

i paid about 2g's for it. i run it through a fender acoustasonic sfx.

I'm getting a new taylor soon and I can't decide if I should get the 40 watt Fender acoustic or the 50 watt Marshall acoustic, but I think i'm gonna get the Marshall because it's cheaper. Does anyone have it?

One of the guys in our band uses that Marshall amp and it's fine if you're running the line into a PA, but if you want to play solo gigs with it you might find it distorts the sound at higher volumes, especially with a mic plugged into the second channel. If you want an acoustic amp my suggestion is to go with a higher end acoustic amp, it's well worth the extra money. If you can't afford it, a good preamp or DI will work so you can just run it directly into a PA system.

By the way, what kind of Taylor are you looking at?
