I was watching a game too, but it was basketball (high school)

06-09-2003, 01:56 AM
I saw the double header between the mighty Fresno Grizzlies and the Nashville Sounds, My cousin started the second game, he did "ok" but should be in the majors next year, which is pretty exciting! It was cool talking to him about Barry Bonds who is truly the asshole you hear about! He told me that in spring training a couple of Giants regular players asked him for autographs for charity auctions, and although he signed them, he gave them a bunch of shit asking why they didn't just give them money and shit like that. Anyway, it was cool just talking baseball with a player who is close to the game
ellirome
06-09-2003, 01:59 AM
Yeah, I guess it would be pretty cool to be related to someone who may be FAMOUS someday!
Did you stay overnight in Nashville? There is a big thing called Fan Fare going on downtown right now.....I tried to stay FAR AWAR from that crowd and traffic!

I find the accent very cool, we went to the hermitage, it was alright, but my favorite was the wildhorse saloon!

Not where I live.....you probably wouldn't want to be here where I live anyway....VERY small town.
Ever watch Andy Griffith? We ARE Mayberry.
I am thinking about moving to Nashville in the future though...maybe next year. You would have a better chance of getting a job in or around a bigger city like Nashville or Knoxville. I am lucky to be in math...I can get a job almost anywhere.

This is my first year out of school, but my principal gave me a bunch of shit at my last evaluation about how i live outside of school and that I need to tone it down. I am me and I need to live MY life so apparently I need to go to a big city, and become more annonomous.

Yeah, you know that'e what we Southerners like to do best...take you Northern boys and move you down here and then in a couple of years....BAM! You're hooked. You never want to leave!
I don't like Florida though. It is so dry, and so humid....and those are complete opposites, but it somehow works like that!
I think the two most beautiful states are Tennessee and North Carolina.
I think that Ohio has some of the coolest people though!

I know EXACTLY how that is! The first year I taught I was called into the office weekly about the same type of things....but mine was more along the lines of getting too "close" to students outside of school. I used to have kids over at my house all the time....and nothing illegal was ever going on....but the principal was constantly worrying over me. It is so hard being so close to their age and relating to them "too much"....although I think that whole idea is ridiculous!

I KNOW!, it really ticks me off because the teachers I remember, and the ones I learned the most from were the one I related to, but apparently I need to be an asshole and just give notes all day, whatever, like I said I need a change, where I can be myself!

I just completed my fourth year of teaching.....I have had tenure for a year already (no more evals...thank God!), and I pretty much fly below radar now.....I try to keep my outside life VERY private....I try not to get into too much trouble...and I try to stay out of the office (my motto: out of sight, out of mind!)
The principal and I are on good terms now...he has pretty much accepted me and my friendships with the students....and he respects me as a teacher and he doesn't want me to leave. But it took four years!

I picked up the Jason Mraz CD today when I was at Best Buy. Saw it out front for $9.99, I was like "well, if it sucks, I'll just give it to my girlfriend." It's not too bad though. Pretty good deal. All CD's should be like $3.27. I definitely wouldn't burn a lot of CD's if i only had to pay $3.27 for them.

I saw Finding Nemo for the second time tonight. I liked it. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Very funny, maybe not as much so as Monsters Inc, but pretty good. And the graphics are amazing... there's so much detail put into that movie.

it'll never happen...not enough dedication in this thread. hell, if we were real troppers, we'd hit 3000 by Tuesday's end since it is the one week mark in the countdown. but that like so many thing in this thread, won't ever be reality.
alright, ellirome...doc and yourself did an acceptable job coming off the tag-in by the Rockers, but don't expect another chance to take command of this thread like that again. the Rockers are here for good now... ;)

WHY MUST WE HAVE FINALS!!!!
WHY MUST COLLEGE BE SO DAMN DIFFICULT!!!!
WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT J.S. MILL AND HIS DEFINITION OF UTILITARIANISM!!!!
Screw it... I have lost all motivation. I have to finish up my previously mentioned philosophy final (take home, but hard as hell), and study for my data structures final (one of the toughest classes ever devised, made me reconsider my priorities, and I switched majors because of it. If you are considering majoring in Information Systems, every college and university will try to make your life a living hell with this class. )
That's all.
Oh yeah... AND I'm sick. WTF gives??? I came down with a cold, and my voice has gone to shit. That means Ryan will have to do all of the singing @ KOCO. I sound like a bullfrog everytime I open my mouth. All of my friends are either A.) Home from school for the summer and are out partying every night, or B.) Have graduated and are making the big bucks... and here I am, at 1:30 in the morning, staring at some philosopher/economists views of how to be happy!!! Let me tell you what it'll take to make me happy... for the University of Cincinnati to simply dissappear tonight. I don't care how. I just want it gone tomorrow!
With that, I guess I'll hit the books.
One more thing...
Why is it that when you aren't "available", girls would do anything to date you, but when you become single, they either move back home for the summer or get married??? My ex is already dating, and I am happy for her, because I really hate hurting people, and she was devastated, but I want to date, TOO!!!
My goodness do I sound pathetic.
That is all.
Goodnight.
So long.
Farewell.
I'll talk to y'all tomorrow.

So I got new guitar stings for my guitar, ddario (SP) coated lights, and let my tell you.....I hate them. If they were anything other than strings they would be a turd, a hot summertime too much pizza and beer turd.
They sound like I'm playing a tin can. They have no bottom end and they buzz on pretty much every note, I want to take them off already and to top it all they cost 13 dollars WTF, they should be nice for that much. :violent

my girlfriend's dad played in a qualifier for the US Senior Open today and took second place. unfortunately, only the winner of the qualifier gets a bid to the tournament, but he is first alternate. which is good news because if anyone drops out of the tourney he's in. even cooler is that the Open is here in Toledo, so he'd have home field advantage if he gets in.
...here's to hoping some old guy busts a hip so he can play in the tourney!

It's really not my fault! My friends told me "Request best available for Indiana." We're only going night 2, and so i got reserved tickets. Turns out my friends requested lawn. So we have 6 tickets, 4 of them lawn, 2 pavilion. There's only 4 of us going, and so the logical thing is... sell the pavilion seats. I sold em before seat assignments came out. Then warehouse FINALLY tells us where we're sitting, and it's like Section C, Row J. This is right stage, 10th row. i was like

:lol I actually don't care all that much. I hear the lawn at Deer Creek is really nice anyway. One of these days soon I'll spring for front row center on the Bama Auction or something. Blow all my graduation money, haha.

hey, i got to thinking of this as it just started to pour all of a sudden outside my house...
if it were to happen to rain on the first night, instead of trying to cook in the rain and catch colds, it would probably make teh most sense to push the KoCo to the second night.
that being said, do we want to cook out both nights, or do we all want to do our own thing on the second night?
doesn't matter to me, just thought i'd throw these fews ideas out there

Just got back from the Coldplay show....wow....wow
Highlights of the night were definitely rocking out and the crowd singing at the end of "everything's not lost" also, yellow, in my place, and amsterdam were awesome

Also, it was funny, Chris was commenting on the venue and said, "thanks for coming to see us at this....pile of stuff...." then he went on to say any more venue jokes would be tired and repetitive. If you havent been there(tower city), it's like a giant triangle tent with open ends and a stage at one end
also, after we sang everything's not lost, he said "that was pretty fucking good"
overall great night
