The band certainly started off well. With the crazy setlist. Anything can happen tonight. It was a great time! To people sitting in the Pavilion. Bang your seats tonight!!!! I am in the lawn and won't be able to. Look forward to another great night!

It was sold out, but I think alot of people didn't show up b/c there were quite a few empty seats around me. I'm really disappointed in crowd participation. The crowd I was by were more into drinking and getting girls than the show. Hopefully tonight everything will be kicked up a notch.

The show a great one. I guess I am too energetic to be the pavilion. There were a few great fans around me, but others that just were not in it. I remained standing to whole time. A couple in front of me told me not to bang on the seats (they were sitting a few seats over) when everyone else was the last few songs. I continued anyway. They left before PIG. So I will be yelling from the lawn and using up the rest of my voice box tonight. :-) All in all great first show.

what section were you in? There were a ton of empty seats around me, but the people were in the section were pretty cool...not like past shows I've been to.

I was in section E. There were def. some cool people next to me too, like the fellas in front of me who started the chair banging;but some older people sat on my right and didn't enjoy the noise making. I mean what do you expect if you come to a concert like this. All the crowd appreciation just makes my experience way better.
I can't believe I'm going to get hear the guys again tonight...this is so unreal.

what i did was i printed out a firedancer, cut out the center, and used it as a stencil... i was surprised it came out that nice! by the way, i'm on the right and chris is on the left...

I heard 11 new songs... all of those, plus Crash, Stay, and DDTW (not including D&T).

And like that I have returned to Austin, Tx. I only attended the first show. I thought it was a blast.

Some things I saw while there.
1. I lost count of how many drunk college people I saw there. This is not shocking to me, but the amount I saw was quite large.

2. There were a lot of empty seats around me (Sect D, row q). People throughout the entire show kept trying to move in and snag free seats. It just gets annoying when you are in your actual seat, trying to enjoy the show, and people constantly keep moving around and distracting the show. Just a reality with any show with seats.

3. Show itself was great. I thought it was a very even setlist.

4. The weather (to me) was nuts. 65F all day long (and night)? I don't even get that for a low temperature. My date saw me wearing shorts and asked me "Did you bring a jacket with you?" I replied. "What are you talking about, its june?"

5. I was amazed only 5 min after the show ended, they were moving the band's actual bus out of the parking lot. With all those fans walking out of the front enterance I couldn't believe they were doing it. We saw Carter at one of the windows and he gaves a good smile and wave as we all yelled and cheered at the bus.

BTW- Who went to the Boyd cd signing? How was it

Well...

After night 1... we were sitting in the parking lot waiting to get out, and my friend was in his van behind me. Traffic wasn't moving, obviously... so i just turned my car off and put the hand brake all the way up, went to the trunk, got some chips, listened to Last Stop on LiC, and Stay... cause Stay night 1 rocked... but anyways... We're just chillin there, and this woman in a Silver Jetta was in a spot like next to my car... and she was in reverse, but not moving. Then about a minute later, my friend in the backseat goes "Oh shit! Get out of the car!" So I get out, go to the back of my car, this woman's car is literally touching my car. I don't know what she was thinking, maybe she was trying to squeeze through, maybe she was too drunk to realize her car was moving, but she had backed up and scraped her back left bumper right up against my back right bumper. So I get in my car, move it up, she pulls up, we both get out... and this is where the real story starts :lol .
This woman proceeded to be the most stubborn, uncooperative bitch I have ever encountered in my life. I didn't have my insurance card on me, because my mom had been using it that day for somethin with the insurance, and i forgot to put it back in my glove box. So this woman refused to trade information with me, even though it was HER fault, and she didn't even need my information. She denied that it was her fault for a long time, even after my friend who was in the van behind me told her countless times that he SAW her back in to me. She tried to tell me that the scratches on her bumper were already there, as were mine, and that she didn't even hit me, even though I saw her car like on top of mine. The whole time, she was so drunk she couldn't even like stand up straight.. I saw her stumble multiple times, getting out of her car and whatnot, and she was just SO stubborn, I couldn't believe it. She threatened that she was gonna just go about 10 times, that she didn't have to stay there and we were like "Well, actually that's fleeing the scene of an accident if you leave, and if you do that, you're screwed... trust us." One of my friends finally got the cops to come over (which is where Steph and Amanda come in, because i had a cooler in my trunk with beer in it, and since all of my friends are under 21, Steph said she'd hold onto it just in case, thanks again guys! :D). So the cops helped regulate, copied down our information and whatnot. This woman was insane though, she was like trying to start shit with the cops... He asked to see her license and proof of insurance, and she like held it up and went "Here it is, can I go now? Thanks." The cop responds, "No, you can't. You're welcome." Later on she asks the cop "Are you crazy!??!?!" and he goes "Are you???" They were so pissed at her, too bad they couldn't give her a DUI because they didn't see her driving.

I just could've never imagine that after such an AMAZING concert, someone could come out, and have that sort of attitude about things. I'm sure she was scared that she was gonna get a DUI, but I mean, she could've easily avoided the cops coming if she just let me get her info and we could've left. I'm just amazed someone could be THAT stubborn.

On a side note though, we saw her night 2. We were sittin down at the bottom of the lawn, and she walked by, and i knew her name was Jessica, so i go "Hey! Jessica!" and all my friends were like "is that her?" and we all started callin out to her. Once she saw it was me and my friends, and there were about 20 of us there... she just looked away. Her friend said somethin to her like "I think they're talking to you.." but she just kept on goin to her seat. :lol

damn, that is classic. seems to me like all the drunk idiots were at night one, because we didn't have anyone pass out around us night two, like we did night one.

anyways, interesting story, glad it worked out for you though, even though she was a stubborn bitch

I dunno... we were up on the lawn, and there were quite a few drunken idiots around me. Most of them were my friends (I apologize to anyone who might've been around my group, I really am embarassed), but there were some others. I just noticed a big lack of respect on the crowd's part. During songs like PFWYG, Cry freedom, and Dreaming Tree, I could barely hear the music cause people were talking so loud. I wish I had paid the extra $20 for pavilion night 2 as well, seemed like people had a lot more respect for the music and the people around them down there.

After night one I got spoiled with pavillion, alot of the songs I couldnt hear from people talking. I really liked watching the band and not the screens. Now i need another $20 per concert. haha, but night one was great.

Night 2 ROCKED!!! I'd take a Night 2 in upper pavalion any night over an ok 5th row. Only 3 new songs last night, I'm not complaining about that at all.

Oh man. The drunks were out in full force that night. All college students from every ohio school. Tis ok, because I fall into the same category (except I am a student from TX and over 21). I was in Section D and I thought some people around me were at a bar rather a concert. They would constantly talk, socialize, move around, not listening/dancing/ pay attention to the actual show going on.

Hey man, Alcohol and concerts go hand and hand. However nobody likes drunk jerks. I had a few around me. I just tuned them out and enjoyed the show. They only got in the way a few times.

I had people constantly trying to sneak up rows and change seats throughout the entire show.

I was kind of surpised at the amount of people wandering around and not paying attention to the concert too. I noticed more of that night 2 since I was at the lowest part of the lawn near the steps. The only times where I got kind of annoyed was when people around me were so loud that I could barely hear the music. I had alot of fun though and I can't wait until I can get to another show! :)

Just to let everyone in KOCO night 2, it made it to the top of my list on shows. It was ranked 29.0something. This show will probably be one of the best shows I'll make it too. I don't think my Riverbend shows Mon & Tues will even come close because the band gets no Love down here in Cincy like they do at Polaris.

damnit, i want to buy dave's extra for tonight sooo bad. if i had more money, i would. but seeing as i am now officialy out of a job, that probably wouldn't be the best idea. luckily, i still have 3 more shows to hit, and maybe SPAC in late august.

you should buy Dave's ticket... i mean, i think of it like this... how many more years are the boys going to be touring? what if you miss them, i wish i lived up north, i would take his ticket off his hands, i would be broke...similar to now! but i dunno i would try to hit as many shows as possible!

another great show, but too many repeats, but at least they were good repeats. I was babysitting my friends all night so the only songs i enjoyed were when i stopped helping them maintain control, all b/c i was the DD. oh well, still great energy and i still got there at 8 and forced my way 5th row dead center lawn,just like in c-bus, and just like i'll do tommorow at riverbend as long as we aren't flooded out
little upset my tour run is halfway over, he better send me out w/ a 41 or long black veil or 40

i made the right choice in saying NO. i still get to see dmb 3 more times this year, and maybe 1 or 2 more in late summer if i want to. plus, i'm goin to see ben harper/jack johnson 2 times this coming week, charlie hunter this week, and phish next month, counting crows in august, and the sprite liquid mix tour in september(which is only $10 to see the roots, o.a.r., robert randolph&the family band , slightly stoopid). so i have a very exciting concert schedule this summer, and will have seen the dmb 5 times by the end of summer, which isn't too shabby!

The concert was alright. The crowd was much worse than the Polaris shows. Everytime they played a slow song like Cry Freedom or Dreaming Tree...the crowd wouldn't shut the hell up. It was real annoying and I just couldn't block it out because so many people were talking around me. All in all, it was a nice third show of the year. Had it been my first show, it would have been pretty damn kick ass.
