maybe a security feature? i have other software, where i have to log in, that does that too.

altho, i am not sure why you would need security on this, but anyway.

yes its a feature .... basically i don't store your password at all ... just a md5 hash of it sooo i don't know the length when i display it in there ... remeber in the last version I left it blank? well that was more confusing than this

I really dont think thats the case ... but just to prove it to you (or prove i'm wrong :) ) ... here's how you clear that password

Open regedit go to hk_local_user\Software\Antsdownloader\
and remove the md5pass key

Then go back and run config

shawn, i removed all instances of ants from my registry already.. and then reinstalled the downloader.

then when i went to reconfigure the application- my username wasn't there but a password (an incorrect one) was already there... this tells me windows is loggin a password somewhere that i'm not aware of BEFORE i could configure the downloader... do you know what the downloader works with in terms of configuring passwords?

please shoot me an email pkhurana@stevens-tech.edu

No there was no password in there ... its just a place holder of ********** stars :) i guess thats a bug... the first time you run the config it should be blank. Just type you password in there and it will work. It's possible there is a wierd problem with the encryption of the password. Do you have special chars in it ? or spaces or somthing like that? If you do try changing it on the site to something simple and see if that works.

Please change your password on the ants site to something simple. Then change it in the config. If this does not work then email me (shawn@antsmarching.org) your username and your new pass and I'll see exactly what the problem is.
