Does anyone have any knowledge on this subject??

I have a Yonder Mountin String Band show I'd like to make a matrix of but really have no idea how to even get started.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to do this or show a webpage that might be of further help?

I've done a bunch for PMB shows. I use Cool Edit Pro 1.2. Basically you want to use the multi-track feature of Cool Edit to line up the the tracks, adjust levels and mix down.

My method:

-Leave the audience recording track as one long wav file.
-Split up the SBD recording into seperate files for each song (I use cdwav)
-Open the audience recording in cool edit and import it into the multi-track
-Open all the sbd files (or maybe a few at once) and import those into the multi-track
-Open up the multi-track and you'll have a bunch of seperate tracks that are really 2 tracks in one (Left & Right - Stereo)
-I use 1 track (stereo track 1) to keep the aud file in
-I use 2 more tracks (stereo tracks 2 and 3) to put the sbd files in
-I alternate putting the sbd files in tracks 2 and 3 (ie song 1 is in track 2, song 2 is in track 3, song 3 is in track 2, song 4 is in track 3 and so on) I do this just so its easier to work with and match up.
-Then I line up the beginning of each sbd song w/ the beginning of the song in the aud recording, I do this for each song
-Adjust levels to what sounds good and mix down.

Hope that isn't too confusing, I'll try to post a picture later to show you what my method looks like so you can visualize it. Anyway, its worked well for me, and the stuff I've done I think has come out pretty well:

PMB 9.15.2000
PMB 4.2.2001
PMB 10.25.2001
PMB 2.16.2002

off the top of my head, there are some more.
