I realize i'm probably gonna get flamed for asking, but i've searched over the setup steps for the Downloader, installed everything step by step as needed (twice!), and followed the directions in using it. YET, I still cannot seem to download any of shows... I click on the source of the show, go through the destination steps, and then it tells me immediately after that the download is completed and I'm left with a 3byte filename.

What am i doing wrong? Can anyone help out here? I'd really appreciate the help...

Thank you all, and what an amazing website/community you all have here...

Another new guy,
Jefe

Welcome to AM.org!

You need to save the download file (link) to your computer. Then double click the file you saved. That will open the downloader and start it.

What happens if the downloader opens up, but never asks for a login or anything liked that. What if it just sits there? Is there something wrong with the program (unistalled it, redownloaded it, and installed it about 10 times) or is there something wrong with my .net?

Joe M.,

Thanks for the info.... i'm gonna check it out now and see how it goes. If you don't hear back from me, all's well here as i listen to some new Dave shows and sit dumbfounded through the "Shock & Awe" images rolling across CNN.

Best,

Jefe

sometimes it takes a little while to connect... it was like that for me a coupel times. double click the ANTS file that you save and then it will open up the window. let it run for a few minutes and then come back and see if it starts downloading.

Whenever I go to download a show it goes through 10 attempts to log in, yet all of them fail. I've tried countless times, even rechecked my username and password many times, yet I get the same results.

Does anyone know why it won't connect and begin downloading??

That normally means the server is busy or down.

It would really help if you at least *attempted* to read the FAQ

http://www.antsmarching.org/downloads/faq.php

Go to tour central, find the show you want to download, go to the detail page, and click the source you wish to download from the "Download" box at the lower-right hand corner of the screen. Save the .ants file to your hard drive, then open the file and AntsDownloader will open and connect to the server and begin downloading the show. (make sure you've set your username and password in the config)

Quick Question, I have downloaded some shows but I went to download one a little bit ago and the antsdownloader tells me I need to check my login and password. what does this mean and what do I need to do?

How do I set my user name and password in the config? Do I do this in the config file? It can't be in the downloader because there is no tool bar.
