Of course it's pretty early to have it tabbed out, but does anyone think it's tuned to B like You never Know? Stay or Leave-->YNK

Thanks for the start, I'll try to see if I can help any with it. sounds like alot of fun to play. I'm listening to it and matching it up with your tab, and it looks good. It has some Crash in it.

That's what I thought b/c how it sounded like YNK. So could is also be played with a capo on 2nd fret? Who knows, I don't, I can't really tab for crap anyways so I'll shut up now. peace

hey i got to have an up close and personal look at how dave plays this song last night... i don't have time to tab everything out right now but i'll let you all know that he played the song on his taylor guitar that he uses for "You Never Know" which is in the baritone guitar tuning. He did NOT use a capo for the song. Maybe if I get a chance later to add some of what I remember from last night I will try but I figured this would help those of you trying to get the tab figured out. good luck :)

ok i've never posted a tab here before buts here's what i can remember so far from last night... here's the beginning part, first 2 verses and the chorus...

The song is all in B tuning and Dave does not play this with a capo(same as You Never Know) - but in order to play along with the song just put your capo on the 7th Fret (unless you have a guitar in Baritone tuning :p ) - so this tab is assuming you have the capo on the 7th fret. this is also just the basic idea to get everyone started so they can play along too ;) enjoy

Did Dave play 'Stay or Leave' solo? I don't hear Tim at all. Just curious.. Sorry if this has been discussed already...

It sounds as though Tim is playing subtle stuff behind dave, giving it a fuller sound rather than his own sound. Also, during the video it shows Tim and Dave both playing, at least that is what it looks like

tim played along.. he just added subtle little things to the song... much like the other songs during this tour. he played different voicings of chords and things like that

what I do is type it in notepad first then copy it in my post and use [FONT=courier new] to change the font

thanks for giving credit where credit was due.. but just for those looking at the tab you just posted... the 3rd chord in the chorus is a simple G chord which is

as was posted... and just for reference when dave plays the G chord he usually doesn't add the 3rd fret on the B string - thats usually and open string, in this song and others (for those who care) ...

the rest looks pretty good.. i haven't played through that yet but it looks like what he was playing the other night... thanks again for giving me credit but i just wanted to correct that little mistake so people weren't confused :rolleyes:

i only wish i had a baritone tuned guitar like dave so i could play this and You Never Know *just like Dave* :D

very true.. thats why i can only WISH i had one like Dave ;)

just a note - you probably still want to remove the 3rd fret on the B string you have ... cause Dave plays a G chord with his 4th finger on the low E string (G) and his 3rd (middle) finger on the A string (B) and his 5th finger on the high E string (G) so its not even possible to play the 3rd fret on the B string the way Dave plays it...

thanks for the edits... i'm just kinda picky when it comes to playing the songs just like dave plays them.. thats all

as far as that song and the whole show in general ... honestly at that point .. knowing it was a brand new song... after i got over the guy that shouted out "yeah right" after dave said "i'm gonna play a song that we've never played before", i was trying to enjoy the song but at the same time watch how he was playing so i could play it later.. just an awesome song and although the crowd was really not the best that night, i got the chance to sit next to craig who is an excellent taper and debbie from the daily rhyme and reason... so i got to see dave up close and meet some other fans who weren't there just to get drunk and yell whatever... all in all, a good setlist, the best seats and making some new friends made for an excellent night of Dave's music... a night i will definitely never forget :)

i also just remembered something so i figured i should post before i forgot...

there is a part in the song where dave went up to like a bar chord on a higher fret... its right around 3:05 on the song.... right before he says "remember when we used to dance" ... and another time in the song i think....i don't have my guitar out.. but it sounds like he goes from the e minor chord to the g chord up to a D major bar chord... i'll probably have to check tomorrow when i get up but i just thought of this so i figured i'd post it... he played it that way 2 or 3 times in the song but i need to get some sleep so i'm off to bed...

why did dmbtabs.com post my version of the tabs without any credits? the other I dicided to contribute with my tabs and the next day something VERY similar was up on the site but didn't say anything about me, then they emailed telling me that my tabs were rejected because it was to close to what they already had! ...but I posted mine first, with mp3s and all!

Tim plays the song in standard tuning so he just watched Tim play it from a video he had. I don't think they took your tab though.

Not sure why he posted it for everoyne else to see like I was trying to steal his stuff but we talked about it and it's all cool. I just watched the video, as I'm sure most people did to get the tab. I just post it for anyone so they can get it at any time easily.....peace
