on certain versions of nancies, dave solos and d+t, instead of the "could I have been?" intro, he just starts out "he stands.." but how does he play those chords? does he just strum the high E and B rythmically? If so, this leads to my next question: how many times do you strum the verse chords, each?

If you IM me later today I'll make you a recording of how I play it, which I believe it very similar to how dave plays it, I think. Or we can connect with NetMeeting, Yahoo, or MSN and I can just play it live for ya if you have broadband. It might not work with dialup.

as far as how he hits the high e and b strings, consider the placement of finger 1 during the two chords that he uses for "he stands" etc. if you're using the "correct" chords, your knuckle is just about over those two strings. just bring your whole finger down but don't barre the strings inbetween the be and e and the other strings that you're not using to make a chord.

Or maybe I can rephrase my question:

On the Nancies intro on Recently, before dave says "he stands, touches hair.." the intro to DN on Recently has, I think it's just the regular chords, but it has kinda a higher sound..just listen to the intro to nancies on recently before the lyrics start. THAT's what I can't figure out.
