So I'm d/l 3.29 with the ants downloader and i got this message:

"A System Error has occured!
There is invalid data at the root level. Line 1, position 1."

What does this mean? Is it only that the server is busy, or is the file corrupt, or something else?

Thanks for the help.

For some reason, when I download using the new Ants Downloader I get this message:

A System Error has occured!
System.Xml.XmlException: There is invalid data at the root level. Line 1, position 105.

What is this about... Does anybody know how to fix it?

Try putting valid data at the root level. Line 1, position 105.

EDIT: According to the FAQ, you're supposed to tell them what show you had this issue with.

I am getting that too....I think it's probably just something temporary. I downloaded a show 2 nights ago and didn't change any settings, then this popped up. So I bet it'll fix itself soon.

Yea, it looks like a bunch of ppl are having this problem. i'd guess it was either a problem with one or two shows, or the server right now. i'm sure the admins will look into it. post more info like the error msg and show if you haven't to make it easier for them.

It wasn't the show that I was having problems with it was when I loged in the message appered Warning: Undefined variable: root in /var/www/html/shn/filesystem.php on line 61
This is the exact message. I copyed and then pasted it. Thats all the info I have.

All of a sudden my antsdownloader won't download ANY shows...it doesn't matter what show i try. all it will say is

"A System Error has occured!
There is invalid data at the root level. Line 1, position 96.
Finished!!!"

I deleted the downloader and reinstalled it, and that didn't work. Once again, its doing this with all shows. Somebody PLEASE tell me what I need to do. Thanks in advance.

Okay, I'm in the boat with y'all now.

Downloading 4/1/03.
I set it to go as I slept last night. When I woke up, it actually looked like it had downloaded the entire show except for the last track. Then I got the root error line. So closed up the downloader. I clicked on the 4/1/03 file file again. This time the antsdownloader started to skip through the songs I already had, then stopped at track 7. My error looks like this, as you all suspect:

/2003/d+t2003-04-01.at853.shnf/d+t2003-04-01.at853.d1/d+t2003-04-01.at853.d1t07.shn
A System Error has occured!
There is invalid data at the root level. Line 1, position 1.
Finished!!!

EDIT: The pull I was trying to download was Jeff Hanna's. It looks I got the whole show except for the .txt file before it crappe dout the first time. I'm going to try another show and see what happens.

Shawn, Matt, what do you think?

This is the message I'm getting!

I've tried 3/19, 3/22, & another version of 4/1 and I get the same error:

A System Error has occured!
There is invalid data at the root level. Line 1, position 97.
Finished!!!

Except that the position for 3/19 was 1, the position for 3/22 was 102, and the position for 4/1 was 97.

Thanks,
Eric

Something broke in the server code
i think matt was messing with the db or something
so until this is fixed no downloads :(

if you get these type of errors look inside the .ants file
this is whats in there now
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?><filelist dir='/2003/d+t2003-04-01.at853.shnf'></filelist>Unknown column 'folderviews' in 'field list'

Its a bug on the server code
looking into it now

Okay I don't know if it is just me or other people but, I have been trying all day to get the antsdownloader to work. Every time I do I get the same exact error, which seems to be the theme of many threads:

A System Error has occured!
There is invalid data at the root level. Line 1, position 104.
Finished!!!

Now I know that there have been several posts concerning such errors, but I have received this error for all the shows I have attempted to download (some winter 02 shows and some D&T shows). I think that the problem is something on my end, and not the server or the show. I just don't know where the problems is at. I have read over the FAQ and several threads, but I still don't know what to do. I did notice that on my antsdownloader config. I didn't have anything in my Download Dir. line, but on the FAQ there was some information C:\FTP\dmb do I need to enter something in that line or should it be blank??

I hope all of that made sense and I am sorry if this question had already been answered, I searched looking for an answer, but I couldn't find one that solved my problem. Please give me some suggestions if you have any. Thank You So Much!!

FIXED!!
Someone was trying to clean up the shn server html dir and must have blown away the config file and replaced it with an older version. Basically it lost its connection to the DB. But now everything is ok :)
