hammering the ftp servers

to the limited few who are downloading shows via ftp servers:

PLEASE DON'T HAMMER or you will be banned and i'm getting hammered almost everyday.... and i'm not the only siteop who is getting hammered.... read the FAQ's, if you can't get in you need to wait 120 sec or set your retries to 120 sec... people who hammer are booting the people who are actually in trying to download.... if you have any questions about ftp servers or anything feel free to shoot me an email or IM or PM!!!!!

i feel bad for you guys, i know what its like to run a site, and to get hammered. unfortunately, you know the people that would do something like this either dont know better or dont care. some programs may even have the default set to retry quickly. and, the ppl who hammer aren't likely to hang out in the downloading shows forum, or any forum. unfortunately. maybe this post would be more noticable in the DMB forum even. good luck.

thanks someone who knows how we feel.... it doesn't bother me that i ban someone, i just feel bad due to the people downloading from me, they are getting kicked.... i'm just hoping that the people who are hammering not just mine but all the siteops that they just don't do it and then if not then let the banning begin!!! :violent
