Im a Blues fan, St Louis native, so I am sure you can understand my misery, I cried in the 98 conference finals.
but back to the hate, Shanhan is the only guy worth a shit on that team, and I hate the Wings with a passion. they are down 1 to the ducks and I hope they get sweeped, wont happen.

But boooo Red Wings!!! Go Blues!!! But go Ducks for right now!!

I was so happy when anahiem won! I dont hate detroit, but they're like the lakers of hockey, IMO...well no the miami hurricanes of hockey. It justs gets annoying after a while. Plus I'd love to see some of htese teams that have struggled for so long go far this year.

I dont know if there is pure hatred for the Wings everywhere, but I get back to St louis a few times a year, and try catch a game while im in town
anyway, the best thing is when we arent even playing the wings
a chant will start
"Red Wings-Suck, Red Wings-Suck" its great the whole place starts going, its only about 50 million times worse when we play them. granted its not as bad as avs vs the wings, but thats moslty what happens on the ice

gave up 3 goals including the game winner during that time.

believe me, i'll never forget that either !!

canes wrap up the east, i buy game 4 tix while the avs are up 3-2, and then the infamous "statue of liberty" play. ( can you imagine how the tides would have turned had he made that save ? the avs were on a roll at that point, it cost them the series and the cup. )

game 7 was over in the first 5 mins.

you better believe i was in raleigh with my patty wah sweater and my GO CANES !!! sign

i dont like brett hull either ( never have, never will ) and what do i see in my game 4 cup final ? him score his 100th career playoff goal after the dominator set him up from the corner i was sitting in.

the highlight of the evening was watching a wings fan get doused with beer, pummeled and then escorted out of the stands after throwing a squid on the ice in the 3rd period. ( also from my corner )

and as a small conselation i got barry melrose's autograph on my ticket stub.

my favorite Avs-Wings game last year was game 6 when the Avs wanted Hasek's stick measured so the refs did and it was fine. :lol :lol

plus that game was huge, avs up 3-2 in the series, could have won it in denver but blew it. :lol

i was doin the exact same thing during the game.... when it went into a commercial break , i'd flip to comedy central..... man , what a game that was , eh? although the blues lost , that was still a damn good game to watch..... and i know you saw dallas drake absolutley pulverize trevor linden on his way around the net!!what a hit.... there were tons of good hits.... macinnis got knocked out though , which hurts them a bit.... cloutier definately stole that game for the canucks , giguere is doin the same thing for the ducks.... once again another lucky win for them.... wings didn't even play remotely good for the better part of the game , but still outplayed anaheim and still cant come up with a win.... oh well , we aint sweatin in detroit.... YET..... we've been through this shit before..... the guys start off slow , and then stevie y gets in their asses , and before you know it , the wings win the series..... lets hope this works out as good as it did last year

yes, he was a ranger...started his NHL career when edmonton came over from the canadien league. went to the rangers, i THINK the winnipeg jets, maybe one other team, then the flyers, and back to edmonton to retire, where he ended up becoming a coach as well

yeah, roenick was falling, and you can't really control what happens as you fall. but damn! he was out cold on the ice and he couldn't even stand up, they had to carry him. i read this morning his all stiched up under the chin and around the mouth

Thought I'd throw my opinions in here regarding the games I've been following, being an avid hockey fan myself...

Ducks are gonna win in 5 games at most. Detroit can't solve Gigure (sp?) and the Ducks are riding so high right now that I have a feeling the series is ending in game 4.

Colorado will win. The Wild had a high that first game, but last night looked the way the Avs should have played in the first two games. They weren't prepared, but they're into their groove and it's gonna be tough to beat Roy 3 more times.

Islanders shock the hockey world and win in 6. I know they're down 2-1, but they played really well last night, and it was a 2OT game that they could've won.

Devils and Washington each have its series in hand.

Flyers will beat Toronto in six (I hope...). They had their worst game of the playoffs last night, and still only lost by 1 goal in 2OT. Plus, and not that I'm supportive of hurting players, the Leafs have gotten their asses kicked so far, with Atropov being out for the series, Sundin still nursing his mouth, Tucker's knee isn't 100% yet, and it'll be interesting to see if Mogilny plays game 4, and whether he's even close to normal out there.

Just my opinions, but yeah...GO FLYERS!!!!!!

cujo has never been a solid playoff goalie, just ask the leaf fans. however, you can not place all the blame on him. the entire team just cant solve giguere(sp?).

thats unfair man, if you guys would have won 4straight in every series went all the way to game 7 in the finals, losing games only 1-0 those three games, and in game 7 you lost 1-0, Detriot would surely want to hang cujo still, granted he hasnt played well, but wings fan have the same thoughts as yankees fan, if you win all your games but lose in the finals, the season is worthless

its not all cujos fault but he needs to take the blame as much as everyother person. he gave up some really soft goals in this series, for example the ducks 2nd goal, way to not commit so early to the shot but like i said he has never been a big time goalie and probably never will be. oh well sorry to see the defending champs out now hopefully the devils can finish the job tonight.

I'm a big supporter of this thread (and any thread that deals with the Wings losing).

Although I was looking forward to a nice little redemption for last years finals.

Right now (unless Edmonton can pick up the slack) it looks like we'll be facing the Blues/Canucks.

I'd rather face the dirty Canucks so Forsberg can make Naslund his bitch like he used to back when he played on MoDo. But I don't think that is going to happen the way that St. Louis is playing right now.

well, they have 2 number 1 goaltenders, and a team of stars that have great chemistry and know how to work together extremely well. i would say they are the NHL's version of the Pats this season.

i'm a wings fan and i don't know if i'd go that far, but they are playing out of this world this season. the lines have meshed perfectly, our young talent is absolutely stellar, and osgood and hasek have held it down. it still remains to be seen (as it does every year) how this improved team will adapt in the physical playoffs.

In his defense it was posted several years ago, not that Tie Domi was ever capable of performing a task as complex as scoring a goal... he was better suited for simpler tasks like crush and smash, while refering to himself as Tonka... "Tonka Crush" "Tonka Smash"
