Is Angel even possible on the acoustic? I have seen a few different tabs, all of which are slightly different. Is there any tips out there for playing this song? I really want to play it for a girl, but it seems really hard to make sound right. It could be the tabs I have, it could be the tips I've received or it could be that it just doesn't belong on acoustic.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Josh

daves played it on the acoustic at a radio show... check dmbtabs.com for the standard tuning version... there are some parts on there you can change up a little bit maybe to make it sound better solo but its the basic idea

Yeah I've heard that show and it sounded fine acoustic solo.

Hi, I know absolutely jack shit about guitars but recently have been messing around with one thats been laying around. Is there a way to play Angel on a normal acoustic guitar? Im assuming baritone means lower or something so would you scale down the frets or something? Im not looking to master this song or anything, but its fun for me to look at tabs and hear myself play parts of my favorite songs. ( not that angel is my favorite, but it is one of my girlfriends favorite). Thanks.

This is an old thread.

Heres answer your question.

Thats the standard tuning - tab for Angel. I havent tried this one to see how it sounds.
But in my experience to play it in the original tuning is much more pleasant sounding. (of course.)

Also, heres some older threads on "Baritone tuning" just to clarify that wouldnt want to tune your acoustic to it.

there are no words cuz i don't no them well enoughto sing them.

i'l post a tab later for the version i play...it just sounds fuller on an acoustic than any tabs i've found.

Use the dmbtabs.com standard tuning tab for angel, i play it on the acoustic and it sounds fine. i don't always play the riff usually just the two chords during the verse, makes it sound better on the acoustic. hope that helps

yeh from memory on standard tuning you play the b chord (2nd fret a) then the little thing after that is played on the 4th with a hammer to the 6th, then you just play a standard E... that prob makes no sense but it tried.....just skip the sweet stuff at play LOVER LAY DOWN FOR HER!!

First of all, I'm sure that no matter how bad you fuck up the song, it'll sound better than when DMB did it on the album. I fuckin hate that version. Anyways, I also really hate Nancies.org (for too many reason to begin listing), but they have a very decent tab page. I recommend them first, then try OLGA.net (online guitar archive). I don't like DMB tabs, though. It's been about a year, maybe more, since I last checked them out, but I saw too many discrepancies with the tabs there. I've been playing for about 9 years now and have seen DMB 28 times and most of the tabs on that site were not correct.
