No that is not a typo..........got to play a new Taylor 110 at the Guitar Center down the street. The thing is not even on the Taylor website yet. Obviously not as good as a 310, but I am trying to spend under $500 (price was $449). Played real nice.

I am also interested in a Takamine EG530 and a Ibanez Artwood.
I am just getting back into playing after a little over a year off, so I consider myself kind of a beginner.

You opinion on these three would be great, or if you think I am missing out on something else in this price range.

Thanks all!

I haven't played the new Taylors yet. What do you think? Did you play all three?

I think the Taylor has much better sustain and is much more consistant that a Tak or many others.

The 110 is a good buy IMO.

as good as taylor guitars are, i would say go with the tak or the artwood (preferabley the tak). the lowest end taylor may give you a good sound, but may not hold up as a mid grade tak or ibanez. i think the tak would be the best balance for your budget.;)

this could be true....the Taylor 110s are so new, I don't know how well they would hold up as a beater guitar. With Taylor's rep. I'm sure they hold up well.

I played a Tak. EF385 12-string the othe day.....it sounded great for that type of laminate guitar.

If you're just starting out....Taylor probably isn't the best option.

i have a tak eg530sc, get that. it is a sweet guitar and sounds really good plugged in or not, looks good, and doesn't go out of tune quick at all. definitely the tak, unless the taylor is something unbelievable for that price. get the cutaway too.

That guitar hold tune awesome. Even with new strings. Plus even when it does go out, you got the built in tuner to fix it up.

Cant say much about the others, but I tried the Ibanez AW 100, and I loved it. For its price range, its damn close to the best thing you can get.

I love my Taylor 110. I've had it for 2 weeks now. Love the playability and the sound. It is now my new camping guitar. Still does not compare when I pick up my 414 limited ed Taylor and then the 110. It is much better than any Ibanez, Fender, in that price range. PLUS ITS A TAYLOR I am just going to keep gigging and saving my money for another Taylor maybe 714. my 2 cents peace Jason

I tend to think that when you go to the very bottom end of a brand, you're paying for the name more than the craftsmanship. I'd rather have one company's pride and joy than another's scraps.
