When playing the intro to PNP, what is the best in muting the strings. Hell, I don't even know if it's called muting, but he will lift his fingers from the fretboard to kill the sound and make a "shika" sound. Well is lifting my fingers the easiest way to do it, or would I be better off palm-muting? For some reason, I'm not deft enough to lift my fingers and keep playing...
Would palm muting be harder, or even kill the song?

Also, you can try placing the edge of your strumming hand on the strings while you're still strumming. That adds a muted sound as well.

There's where I realized I had to lift my fingers. It's quite difficult for me at the point I am currently at with the guitar. Do you think that's the best way to do it? If so, then I'll keep messing with it.
