I just wanted to let you all know about this, because it is one of the many reasons why I chose to buy not one, but two Taylor guitars.

This past February I bought a 514ce with the new expression system electronics. Sounded great at first, but then all of a sudden it started buzzing horribly and had an odd background noise when plugged in. I called Taylor and they informed me that the particular guitar I had was built in early January of this year and had the first generation of the ES system and that there had been several updates since then to eliminate the problem I was experiencing. They offered me a free upgrade and paid for overnight shipping there and back. Total time is less than one week since they only need the guitar for 2-3 days tops to install the new electronics.

I don't know of many companies who would offer superior service like this on any product, let alone a $3000 guitar (which, by the way, they also paid to have insured while being shipped). If you have any doubts about whether Taylor guitars will take care of you down the road don't--I assure you they will.

I'm pretty sure that you can order any Taylor guitar left handed

For some reason, I really doubt that. I don't doubt that he said it, but I think he's completely wrong.

Taylor customer service is the best I have ever come across, for any type of company. They mailed me new gold hardware (tuners, screws, strap buttons) for my guitar when the silver stuff started flaking prematurely. They tracked my guitar using the serial number to a bad batch of hardware and overnighted it to me with apologies. They didn't even ask for the old stuff back.
