Ok, so I have this John Mayer show on CD and only a few people in the community have it (my friend recorded it). I want to SHN it and get it out into the community for trading and whatnot, since it was a good SBD show.

I ripped the wavs from the CD using Easy CD Ripper... (is this a good program to use for ripping?), then I opened up mkw to SHIFT drop the wav files to create SHNs and md5s, but.. i got the following error, which I have attached a picture of...

any ideas?

XP Home... never had a problem with it before... although, I have never really created SHNs either:)

running .97 BETA 1 mkw... if that has even changed at all...

K, heres what you do.

Start -> Programs -> MKW -> right click -> properties -> compatibility tab -> run compatibility for Win 98

and dont use Easy CD Ripper. re-rip using EAC:

www.exactaudiocopy.de

hopefully that helps.

not to be picky, but why not just convert from the original DAT?

it was recorded on minidisc, then my friend editted it (took out the junk before the show that was all intro and added a fade in). He made all the track markers and burned it to cd, so I don't have the original minidiscs... plus, the kid who recorded it just did it for fun, he is not into trading, just recorded it for his own personal use.
