I dunno what you guys are talking about when it comes to fDAO. Im working on a tim show that was seeded improperly by a naive taper, and the way ive edited out the silence you CANNOT tell its fDAO. Obviously having a true DAO show is the most favourable option here, but i look at certain shows where people say "as DAO as youre going to get" and ".5 second gaps or clicks" and I think whoever did the fDAO did it improperly.

I use Cool Edit Pro and zoom multiple times into the wave file, and cut right before the sound cuts, and right after the sound comes back. And if youre worried about the potential loss of non silent data, we're talking 1/4 or 1/3 of a frame, and if you dont know a frame is about 1/100th of a second. So whatever your losing is beyond insignificant. yes, youre still losing data because of an irresponsible or naive seeder / trader, but with the preventive measures we now have in place i doubt the .0008 seconds of collective data loss will ever be perpetuated further.

IN WRONG AGAIN!

A frame is 1/1000th of a second, and so im dealing with 1/10000 of a second times. Sorry, its just relivant when youre considering the sound of the finnished product.

well erich, first you showed us that shn -> wav -> shn is okay and now your showing us that fDAO is okay as well. What new break through are you working on now?
