Hello all,
I taped a Dave Matthews Cover Band show on 6/13/03 @ Headliner's Music Hall--Louisville, KY, and would like to see if someone could convert it to a nice DVD for me. I shot it with a Sony Digital 8 Handycam and I can send the two 8mm tapes but would feel better sending a 1st Gen. VHS. I would send pictures and other things for someone to use for the menus and such. Could someone get back to me on this, that would be able to do it fairly soon. I am making copies for the band, that is why I am wanting it as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

$- Paul Simon Cover
%- Led Zepplin Cover

Notes:
-Small camera and tripod adjustments are made after Warehouse.
-Due to a small tape mishap; Satellite, So Right, and Crush were not recorded.
-These songs should be 11, 12, and 13.
-The sound quality is not bad but still is not the greatest and there is some distortion at times. The spots where the microphone on the camera had the most trouble adjusting were in Don’t Drink the Water, Sweet Up and Down, and All Along the Watchtower. The camera was positioned close to the right speaker which gave it the distortion at times.
* Crowd noise is fairly loud also.

I would think the quality would be much better going from Digital 8 than from a crappy VHS. Why put that extra quality loss in there if you don't have to? Don't the Sony Digital 8's give you an easy way to transfer video to a PC? My father-in-law just bought one that has a firewire port, so eventually I'm going to borrow it to attempt to convert my Hi8 tapes to DVD.
