It was funny seeing all 3 rigs in Section 7. One after another, Row F, G, H.
They should sound pretty good.

Anyone have any favorites yet? I want to wait to see what people say is the best due to limited space/time for downloading for me or else I'd check them all out myself. Maybe I'll just try 1 or 2 per pull...we'll see...

Anyone notice SHNAmp having issues with What You Are in Browns recording? Everytime it gets to 3:38 or so it stops playing. if I skip over that spot, it plays just fine. Everything passed MD5. ideas anyone?

After listening to the first three songs of Brown, Willoughby, and Jones, I've decided that Jones is better sounding than the other two, which are roughly equal. In the Jones recording, Dave's voice sounds much clearer and stands out, like in a studio recording. Listening to other shows from this tour, I imagine CAA's infamous acoustics did not help the situation. Overall, the Brown source, which is the only one I listend to in entity since I got it first, sounds flattened or far away.

Picking up Jones' now, then I'll give Davenport's a listen

jones and davenport are both a little low for my tastes.
brown and willoughby are very close, but i find willoughby's to be a tad fuller.
i went with willoughby.

* Modifications on CMC5 Amplifier Bodies:
Mylar coupling capacitors changed to Wima MKP 2 polypropylene film capacitors
Faster JFET (J305) (fet bias also trimmed to match mics)
European BC transistors switched to Hitachi bipolar transistors (2SA1085)
Modifications performed in an effort to open up transient detail and microharmonics, while reducing the top end spit from the European transistors. The mids are smoother. The new JFET is a very fast rf device optimized for low noise at high impedance.
