so, what's being done about this? i mean, if it doesn't fit on the disc...shouldn't it be reformatted by the original taper? is he (they) aware of this? i hope no one's just taking it upon themselves to edit out some crowd noise or something to make it fit.

If its that big a deal to you to lose 16 seconds of crowd yelling than write it to 3 cds

Yeah, but don't trade that. His point is it needs to be redone by the taper so that everyone's copy is the SAME. You can't just put Track 1 from Disc 2 on the end of Disc 1 without changing the md5's first. We want the same copies to circulate for everyone.

So, is anything going to be done about this? Anyone know if the tapers know about it?

exactly. no, it's not a big deal to lose some crowd noise or move a song, and i may download it and do that for myself. but it shouldn't be traded like that. cutting the time out is going to change the md5's. maybe it's not a big deal to some (perhaps not even to me) but to many, it is. all copies of a show from the same source should be exactly the same when released into the trading pool.

i would suggest that someone find out if the original tapers know about this. then, they should fix it (by moving the song or cutting out some crowd noise during the encore break), and then anyone who has it and wants to trade it should re-download the fixed version. i know it's a pain in the ass to have to re-download a show, but the fact is, the show should never have even been released the way it is.

edit: sorry. double posted somehow. couldn't delete it.

Yeah, hopefully they can just move the first track on Disc 2 to the end of Disc 1 and then just change up the md5's for both discs (then we wouldn't need to cut out any crowd noise). Or maybe they'll just cut some noise and just make one new md5. Me being the anal retentive I'd prefer they cut nothing from the show, but I'll let the tapers decide that. :)

yeah, i don't see a big deal about cutting a few seconds out of an 8+ minute encore break. :)

Haha, I imagine no one is going to listen to the encore anyway right? Yeah, maybe I need to talk to someone about my obsessive compulsive disorder. :)

Casey/Phillips (mk012) Has been pulled from the server. I guess a new version is coming out...re-tracking it.

Could someone post a link to the .ants file for this recording? I downloaded it this morning and tried to download the recording, but I ran into some problems. I deleted the file and when I went back the .ants link was gone. Any help would be appreciated.

read about 2 posts above yours. it's been pulled from the server due to tracking problems. most likely, it's being retracked and a new version will be released. just keep checking the server, or this thread, to see what happens next.

and thanks for the info, Mike. :)

If you have already downloaded this show read these directions:

This source was originally tracked with Cry Freedom beginning disc 2, resulting in a disc slightly over 80 minutes. It has been reseeded by the tapers with that track being moved to the end of disc one.

If you download the corrected text file and .md5 files, all you need to do to match the new seed is rename your d2 tracks. d2t01 becomes d1t10, and then all the tracks on d2 move up one (eg - rename d2t02 to d2t01, etc.)

If you're planning to share this, please make these easy corrections.

not sure how you got the 80:16 but if you put it in your burn program then that time includes the 2 second gaps in between each track. That will be taken care of once you burn it DAO.

It should be fine.

The original version's Disc 2 was over 80 minutes if you tried to burn DAO. I do know the difference between DAO and TAO but thanks anyway:)
