All I have to say is wow, I downloaded a few of the files to check the quality and it is fantastic!!! I highly recommend Chris Drew's taping (I am unaware of any other sources for it)

Drews recording sounds nice....the bass is a little hot....but it's a clear, crisp source (in terms of the 'highs')....just turn the bass down on your stereo a bit.... :babe

I learned everything there is to know about the newsgroups right here:
http://www.antsmarching.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44756
I prefer Grabit over X-news to download and the news group is:

Only problem i have is that it seems to be compressed like it will be loud then you can hear the volume come down, and also the heavy drum part durring last stop is all crackly.. could just be me.. but sounds like something clipped along the line.. I saw some other stands there so i am hoping another tape gets out soon.
Other then those things, the recording is great!

I will have to agree with Donald. The Bass seems a little high and, if not adjusted, there is some cracking. Other than that, a great recording.

This recording is amazing. The amount of crowd noise is just perfect (i.e. almost non-existent). You can even hear Dave on the quiet parts (like the soft part in WTWE). I REALLY enjoy this recording. The best possible way to recreate the best 2.5 hours of my life.

At polaris, i ran my bass roll off at 69hz and got some feedback from people saying there was too much, so i raised it a notch to 95hz, and yea i also noticed the clipping during last stop :violent, hopefully ill be upgrading my rig soon :)
EDIT: Also what do you mean about the part where its loud and then the volume comes down, do you have an example from this?

I guess the most noticble place i noticed it was at the begining of Last Stop. It starts out strong (with clipping, but then dies down so its not as loud.. not sure if this is because of the sound guy waking up and realizing he was running things loud or what..
It also seems to happen in grey street, sounds kinda seems to dip in and out.. instrument wise.. dont know why.. probably i am just being way to fucking picky.. which tends to happen when it comes to anything audio, but thats my life.. so i guess it is not a bad thing.. over all..
Dont get me wrong man.. if i even had half a rig i would tape, and it would probably sound like ass, but i would feel good about the attempt.. I give you props for getting everything togetehr to make a tape that sounds great. Everyone runs into snags here and there, thats life.
Thanks again man for getting this out so quickly and taking the time to check up on what the feedback about your tape.. Cudos to you for everything you have done!

Thanks to Hayden Berard and Craig Willoughby for the tickets! Also, thanks to Duncan Byrd and Ken Mininger for letting me borrow the D8 and Sony 7pin. Last but not least, thanks to Joe Khoroosi for helping me make sure the stand was secured well, and that no drunks were able to pull it over :) .

I will be grabbing this one tomorrow and starting it up to the server. All i have from it right now is Last Stop and it sounds amazing!

listening to anyoneseenthebridge:
drew's has more bass and tends to have problems the earlier posts mentioned but still great sounding
meyer's sounds great but doesnt have the bass that drew's has...
you really cant go wrong with both unless you like your recordings much louder in which case you'd want to get meyer's..
