I was just wondering if 6/30/03 was the latest show out to dl off of bit torrent? Shareingthegrove has been down for a few days, so that is usually where they are posted. If anyone has a link to a more recent show. please post. If you don't that is cool, I was just wondering. Peace Matt

my guess would be yes, because there have been no other shows released so far after 6/30
i think you can check amidreaming or astb for a better update

i tried searching for "seinfeld" today and it didn't return the "seinfeld discussion thread". i searched 2 minutes later for "Seinfeld" and it did. is it case sensitive now?

I don't know. Matt and shawn have drastically edited the way searching and pruning and access to forums works over the past month. I have no idea. I actually makes me really sad. I wish we could have archived all the earlier threads or done something else. They also deleted the search index so it has to start from scrach back in april..... but i think the search funtion now might only search a month :/

i don't care if the search function isn't working. don't come here and ask if that site is down. what does that have to do with ants?
can u get to the site? no? then its probably down or your pc is screwed up. or just wait longer ...
The search index has been messy, yes. We haven't had much time to put much thought into it, but what we might end up doing is writing a script and having it shut the board off in the early morning hours and having it rebuild the index very soon.

A search for sharing*
kinda works
Search in vB 2.X is a piece of shit anyway.

I think AM.org should have an archive forum too.
I played around with 3.0 search function on a hidden site (;)). It has more options but does it do the index any different?
an archive forum would be awesome

Yeah, an archive forum would've been nice before all the how-to/FAQ threads were flushed.
Now that I think about it, I believe the vB 3.0 search improvement may have been dependent on a new version of mySQL that may not have happened yet. I haven't messed with the guts of vB, so I don't know how it all works.

I hate multiple threads in every forum too but I think it is a legit question to ask.... and I am not really sure where you get the attitude to tell people don't come here and ask if that site is down. No, it does not directly affect Ants but.......this is a DMB message board, thus it is a valid question because MANY people here DL DMB shows from the groove. It's about the music.... not what message board you post on or what site you DL from. Personally I think any thread that contains DMB related material, questions, or links is fine (excepting SPAM of course). I don't see how posting an offsite link to a music today article is any different than posting a link to a show to DL on a different site. It's not a competition. Ants is a resource for people, if there is something people want to read or DL on a different site I really don't see the problem with posting about it. This rivalry stuff is really overboard sometimes.

Jesus, I just checked back to see if there was answer to my question. You people act like the world is coming off its axis if some "double posts" or doesn't search before posting. Well, here's a news flash: I am an attorney, I have a job, I have shit to do, and I love DMB. I don't have time to search every time I have a question.
I want to get shows and the site where I have been getting them was down, so I asked here because its usually a helpful place for answers. Here lately though it is a place for internet smartasses to display their sharp wit and message board savvy. SO......NEVERFUCKINMIND.

excellent post.
anyway, no..i don't think anything after 6/30 is being passed around yet.
as for the groove...i would check over at amidreaming.org, because i'm pretty sure tiedyetoga (the guy that runs the groove) posts over there pretty regularly. i don't see him around here much. all i know is the groove has been down for a couple days now. they were originally saying it would be back up last night, but that obviously didn't happen. other than that, i'm lost.

If you're an attorney, you probably bill by the hour. Maybe you do it in 15 minute increments. So when someone calls and asks you a 5 minute question, you bill them for 15. You could use the extra 10 minutes to do a search. ;)
I'm just giving you shit. We just sometimes get tired of being tech support for websites we have nothing to do with, and the question had probably been asked 20 times today.
