I've said it before but i think i mean it this time...i think i've found my next guitar. The Takamine EG334sc...anyone have one...i played one for a while today a guitar center and i loved it. I just wanted to get some feedback from you takamine owners out there...either way...i think this one is it.
Doesn't matter what we think- if that guitar sounds/feels the best to you in your price range, then it's the best guitar for you :)

I have exactly that guitar. :) I love it. Plays great, sounds great. Not a whole lot else to say, other than what someone else said above; if you like it, you like it. I've had it about a year and its held up well, I still love it.
It's the same types of wood as the Taylor 600 series; visually it's beautiful. I love the ovangkol back and sides, and binding, etc on this guitar just make it look dang nice.

I also have that guitar. Beautiful guitar, plain black pickguard, and pretty good electronics. I wish the action was a tad lower, but that's what guitar shops are for. I'm pretty happy with it, but I'll be needing to take it in to get it playing the way I want it to.
Pretty good guitar for the price. If you buy it from GC, you may want to take it to have it looked over by a guitar tech.

I have the that guitar also. It's a lot of fun. Can't say enough about it. My buddy has it to and threw some dadario extra lights on and it sounds killer.

I was back at guitar center today trying to get the price down...i got them down to 550.99 for the guitar (620.99 with case)...what did you guys pay...i know this is already a couple hundred below list so i think in the next couple of days this one'll be mine...oh yes, she will be mine...

I got mine at a Mars (did all of these go out of business, or just the one by me?). The regular price was $599 with the hard case, and I got 10% off for getting a Mars credit card or something while I was there.
You should be able to get them down more. If nothing else, search the internet for a better price and just say someone else has it for that, or even show them a printout so they'll match it. I just told the guy at Guitar Center the price I found on a different guitar (about $80 less than they had it), and he said alright.

If it has Ovangkol back and sides, then it is similar to the Taylor 400 series, not the 600 series. Taylor 600 series have maple back and sides....just FYI.:)

oh yeah....and Taylor guitars are solid wood on the back and sides....(on all 300 series and up)
that Takamine is laminated back and sides, however it does have a solid spruce top.
just a minor difference;) (and a few dollar bills)
