Why does ant downloader get slower?

Im not a computer person so bare with me.

Why does the antsdownloader get slower as time goes on. I leave it to download at 200kb/sec, and when i come back after about a half hour its down to 40kb/sec.*

Are there particular settings i can change to avoid this happening.


*In this time nothing changes with my computer. No screen saver, or other programs running.

im doin cable.... i stop it, then start the download over... and it goes back to 200kb/sec

thats just the way it works... all downloads start out fast.. then slow down to a regular pace...

40KB/s is pretty damn good...
