I am a beginner guitarist and know the basic rifts to typical situation and proudest monkey. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other dave songs that have really simple rifts like these so that I can practice on them.. Thanks alot for your help!

actually if you look up "rift" in the dictionary you will see nothing dealing with music, while if you look up "riff" you WILL find something.

Try watchtower or song that jane likes...both have a barred F which is tough at first but these will be good to practice some chord progressions and stuff...

I have been playing for only a month or two and found the following to be easier than most...

-Proudes Monkey
-Typical Situation
-Christmas Song
-The Intro to Watchtower (I still can't "work" the Barred F chord)
-Halloween
-Ain't it Funny How Time Slips Away (Willie Nelson Cover)
-Lie In our Graves (I can play all the way through but it sounds terrible, this one is harder than the others)

As stated above, www.dmbtabs.com is an awesome site for beginners. It even has instructional video for some of the songs. Check it out...

Good Luck,

Say Goodbye is extremely easy, as is Grey Street, Digging a Ditch, Two Much, Spoon, Don't Burn the Pig (the original D &T), Crush is preety easy too.

angel from montgomery, deed is done, if you get the "dave chords" down as i call them, like the ones on too much, two step is nothing but them, ive never found 41 to be too difficult besides the stretch of the intro chords...

I don't think that Crush is easy at all. Has some pretty massive finger stretches in the chorus, unless the way I play it is a lot harder than the way Dave plays it.

EDIT: I don't think Crush would be an easy song for a beginner to learn at all. That's what I meant.
