Strat vs. Tele

sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the difference?

Different body style, some people say that a heavier ash/maple body on a tele will produce a lot of tone, much like a Les Paul...

Different pickup arrangements (thats a huge can of worms)...

Some teles are available with a semi-hollow body and an f-hole...

Tis all I can think of so far... Anyone else?
