Bartender is in drop D and some people play grace is gone in drop D as well but other than that off of the top of my head I can't think of any other songs that have an odd tuning. Also I recently purchased a pair of Elixar string, they are kinda costly but they last a while longer and they sound great

Drop D isn't all that odd...its fairly common among lots of bands. But thats just my opinion :)
Anyway, Don't Drink the Water and Crush are two more songs Dave plays in Drop D

How about Open C with a Capo only on the E, A, D, and G strings on the 5th fret, while the B and high e are open. I accidentally clamped the capo down like that, and ended up writing a song like that. And of course, if I had more money, I'd just buy a new guitar to tune that way without the capo at all, but alas, I have no money.:(

Uh... spell out for me how you're getting into open C.. I'd kinda like to try that.
It sounds like you'd be in a open Csus4 tuning but I can't be sure.

Open C is tuned C G C G C E, its the tuning David Wilcox used for Eye of the Hurricane, if you've heard that song.
When I capo I guess it would be F C F C C E,so I guess it wouldn't be that hard to just string it as if it had the capo on it, but I don't have an extra guitar lying around to try it on. But when I wrote the song, it was really for my amusement that I could actually play frets below where the capo was.:)

Not a bad idear... I've got odd string gauges laying around so I may try that.
That is definitely an interesting string arrangement, though. I guess that would be Csus4no5, er sumthing like that.
