I apologize in advance if this has been answered before or if this is in the wrong forum (I did a search!!) but with all this news on Kazaa and the RIAA I was wondering how to stop the program from sharing my files but still be able to download. Am I correct in thinking that you are still able to download form Kazaa without sharing? Thanks! Kate

yeah you can, there should be an option on your profile somewhere that you can click "dont share files" or something like that

Ahhaa!! I think I found it. In My Kazza, just highlight the file and right click. The fourth option down will either say stop sharing or start sharing. If it says "start sharing" then you are currently not sharing this file and vice cersa. I think that is as simple as it gets. Any ideas?

Or you could just remove the files from my shared folder and make another folder called music, it will only share the songs in the shared folder not the new one. Thats just as easy

And one more way:
Tools ---> Options -----> Traffic ----> Click on "disable sharing of files with other Kazaa Media Desktop Users"

Wow, we found like, 3 ways!!!

also....
i would recommend anyone who is using kazaa to use kazaalite instead and also to install a spyware/adaware program of some sort. just search in google for kazaalite and cnet for a spyware program. direct connect is another great way to DL music

Adaware is a great spyware eliminating program. After scanning, it pulled up tons of stuff on my computer I didn't know were there.

Well while we are on the topic, is there a better program than Kazaa?
Also, does Kazaalite have the same music sharing files as regular Kazaa?
