Mixing

i was wondering what the best prog. is to use for mixing two song files together to make a matrix song?

is there an easier way than using cool edit pro, and changing the tempo of the song and guessing, kinda like a hit or miss deal?

any help would be appreciated

cool edit is prob the best for pc
