i'm using nero trying to burn an mpeg from my hard drive onto a cd. i know they can go on nornal cd-r's. the option i chose was video cd. i don't know if that's right, but i thought if i chose audio cd i wouldn't get the video. when i try to add the file, it says it's not properly encoded and gives me 3 options: ignore the compliance, reencode the file or cancel the adding. when i reencoded the file, it only burned empty folders onto the cd. i know this mpeg is ok, on my previous burning software i copied it as a data file and it worked fine. should i not re-encode or should i choose a different option than a video cd?

thanks for any insight...

you burn an mpeg as a video CD only if you want to play it in your DVD player.

if you want to burn another format as a regular data cd then you choose the CD-ROM(ISO) option

check vcdhelp.com ... there are 2 mpeg formats ... mpeg1 = vcd and mpeg2 = svcd .... mpeg2 is better quality
