ok, so I am looking to purchase a fishman pick-up...I don't know which format to go with though...
I have to choose from "wide" or "narrow"
I have a Chet Atkins SST guitar. does anyone know what this means? help!
It means "good luck." You aren't going to get a good acoustic sound out of an SST without alot of money- new pickups, preamps, and external filtering. Fishman Active Matrix pickups work on vibration- because you don't have the resonance chamber to enhance that vibration you'll have a helluva time getting a halfway decent sound.

Not that you would have known this(Even though you proabably did)...but DaveMatRec was just looking for a good way to get his guitar to sound like Dave's. I can't really help him(as much as I would like to)........but what he is really asking is how to get his guitar to sound like Dave's on L@RR..so if anyone can help him...please spare the "THE CHET SUCKS AS AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR" bit and just let the GOOD info roll. Everyone can say the Chet stinks as an acoustic guitar but someone who can provide some REAL info to him would help....please.....no flaming....just share the music and embrace your fellow musicians....regardless of guitar........ESPECIALLY when they can probably whoop you on DMB songs as Jason can :) Gotta get that in Jay................PEACE

The only thing I find "wrong" with Chet's are they are really bright on the highs. Although i've never really messed with one, cuz I only get to play one when I'm in the guitar store.
