holy crap a lot of people want this guitar
if you do search you might be able to find a thread were someone was selling one, i doubt it's still available though
They're often available, as many people who get them immediately don't like them and resell them.

There seems to be some available on Ebay from time to time.

Some people do....some don't. Why would it matter either way?
Unless of course they are spending your money for the purchase...then you have a point. Otherwise...you have no point in my opinion.
Some may see it as a collectors item. That's how Martin sees it.

-peace I wasn't making him buy it there...just answering his question.
I think , and agree with you, that one may prefer to play the guitar before buying it. Assuming it is being bought to be played. Some may just want it for the collectors aspect of it...in which case...playing it would be secondary.
Finally....I have never picked up a Martin that didn't play well....and I have played at least 50 of them.....I would think (barring any damage to the guitar itself) that it, like any other Martin, would play fine.

It is very different from other Martins- it has a special neck design created with much input from Dave, and will be awkward to many people.

Does he play his own model? I don't remember from the Dave and Tim tour.
I haven't played the DM3MD, but I hear it's a tough guitar to play.

Agreed....all guitars at that quality level have distinct playing/design characteristics....but they all sound good.
I agree it may not fit a specific "feel" some may be looking for.
I think from a "specifications" standpoint there is not really all that much different from a "standard" Martin...or negligable to the laymans touch and feel aspect.
In short....someone who sucks may not tell much difference. But yes Rob...there are some spec changes more suited to Dave himself, that may not suit someone else.

I bought one the year it came out. Loved it and still do. It is the single best acoustic I have played. But I sold mine a couple months ago because i needed the money badly. It is very easy to play also.
Does anyone know where i could play one in the Atlanta area?
I believe it have a v neck, right? I played an older Martin d-35 with a v neck and it is alittle different but not any harder to play.
What other kinda changes does it have that Dave had recomended?
