Alright ya'll.....I made a dummy mistake a while back. I have a Takamine EG334sc with the stock pickup (NB4 I think). I thought the action on my guitar was a little too high, so I wanted to maybe sand the white bridge piece a little because the neck seemed pretty straight. The pickup was still attached to the piece and when I pulled it out, it stretched out the wire (pulled directly from the base of the pickup) connecting the pickup to the preamp. I soldered it back together because Takamine doesn't include the electronics in their warranty. It stopped all the cracking, hissing, humming, popping that was going on, but it still doesn't sound right. My question is, because there's already a spot for the built in preamp, do you think I should replace it with another NB4 or a different brand? Is there size compatibility issues?
I know I know, the moral of the story is to let someone professional do it, but there really isn't anyone here that was willing to do it. They just told me to do it myself because it is a quick fix. Now, I still have high action and messed up electronics. I love this guitar, but it just doesn't quite feel right to play.
HELP!!
