:lol

I didn't mean to give you the impression that Manning lives close to me. I have a nice little three bedroom house in a nice little subdivision close to a school. Peyton lives in a huge mansion out in the country.

I was just pointing out that he lives on the south side which is not the norm for someone with that much $$

:lol Oh I know, I figured you didn't live in the same area as Manning. I just wanted to "gloat" about living in the same town as Jeff Foster - who at this point is the only Pacer I like.

And yah about your last point - most local $$$ live in the Carmel - Geist area. Have you ever seen Irsay's place.......damn :freak

Yup.

You are not tall....

ohhhhhh yeah, tall boys. Like 6'3"+. 6'5" is awesome. I'm only about 5'6", so a guy that's about a foot taller than me. That's hot. I just wanna make tall, hot babies with him.

Wow, i need to get laid really badly.

That's hot!! Does it help that I'm not a Colts fan?? (I'm originally a Cheesehead but I like the Colts as well). Shit, I already have you quoted once in the sig... that's gotta be good for something!!

haha "holla" :lol that was just funny. HEYYOOOOOOO!

What's so funny?!?

:mad
:o

I want a replica one...you can usually get gently used Youth replica jerseys for cheap on E-Bay, and I'm like a L/XL right now (maybe M/L after the 23rd), so sometimes I find ones there. It's hard if the player is current, though. Like, I bought a joey harrington lions one for 3 dollars, a Minnesota Randy Moss one for 5...it's sometimes hard to find replica jerseys for players that are current....and are good, like Manning.

I just have this thing that I want to own a jersey from every single current NFL team. I have Cincinatti, New England (x5), Minnesota, Green Bay, Detroit, Baltimore, Tennessee, Washington, Cleveland, Oakland, Giants, Miami, and Kansas City.

Well if you want me to check around local, let me know. I can ship it out to ya not problem. I've seen some at some around chee-e-ep for players that left from last year - June, Simon, Rhodes, etc. But, if you're holding out for a Manning, I'm sure that's going to be top dollar for a while.

hahahaha yeah, 6'7" is take-your-pants-off-with-my-teeth worthy, that's true.

You don't have to be a colts fan, unless you want me to slap you around a bit. Tak gets the "slapped around for a while before we bang out" treatment.

I can accomodate for x-tall boys with my Bret Favre jersey :D

awwwww youre so cute trying to get me to wear colts shit. ONLY if you find one for, like, less than 10 dollars is it allowed, I will not accept more than that! I'll even send you money if you find one! It doesn't have to be manning...id like a manning one, but anyone will do.

Not like I'll need it on the 4th anyways.

I want to say I saw Simon Jerseys for $5.00, and June jerseys for $15 a few weeks ago. If I get over there this weekend, I'll check and see.

Yup, that's why I said if you don't care who it is, I can get you one here local. I don't know anyone who would pay money for a Simon jersey now. Plus, if I was at a game and saw a guy with a Simon jersey on, I'd want to puch him in the face.

I still think is was less in the store, but:

:lol yeah, I can understand why you wouldn't freak out in front of him. If Tom Brady was in the same resteraunt as me.....whoa, I have no clue what I'd do. I'd HAVE to talk to him, but it'd be really hard for me to behave. But then again, I don't want to be "THAT" girl, cuz no one takes "THAT" girl seriously.

Yeah, he probably would've just said a quick hello and moved on. It was pretty obvious that he just wanted to get out of the restaurant without causing a scene. Part of me was screaming to go over and shake his hand, or follow him out and talk to him away from the crowd, but I couldn't do it. I just know that I would want to be left the fuck alone. If I were famous, seriously, the media would think I am the biggest asshole because I'd want to be left alone.

Was the restaurant downtown? I'm gonna guess Yat's just cus' the place is damn good - if you like that type of food.

Nope, not downtown. And yes, I love Yats. That place is badass. This is probably the closest guess to the correct answer, but still not there.

Although I think if somehow I could have an actual meet and greet with a local celeb athlete, I'd still pick REGGIE! Seems like a much more interesting guy; BOOM BABY!

You know, at first I thought you were saying Reggie Wayne. But then I realized that I am a moron, and figured it out. Yeah, Reggie Miller would be fun to meet. Seems like a nice guy.

I was giving him a hard time, 'cause he's sort of hight-impaired. Peyton is a big guy, but he's only just a bit taller that I am.

You know, its not so much that I am short but that you are freakishly tall. Besides, my wife is a good 3 or 4 inches shorter than I am, so who cares, right?

Let see, you just moved to the north side, you said a yuppie type place, my guess would be Cheesburger in Paradise?

Do they have one of those on the north side? The only one I knew of was in Southport. Oh, and no. Not that big or trendy.

[quote=Tak_a_Tak]Hey, I'm not gay, and I care about fashion....

And you like it in the butt.

Are we all northsiders? (all meaning Tak are you from the Northside too?)

I am a newly born northsider, saved from a life on the south side. And I'm loving it.

No, Manning and I are both Southsiders.

Do you know that for a fact? I mean about Manning and the south side. I know for a fact that Hunter Smith lives in Greenwood (he attends Mt. Pleasant Christian Church off of 37 down there) but I thought Peyton lived around North Meridian or North Pennsylvania or something. Thats what a realtor friend told me. But who knows. Everyone has different theories.

Reggie never got Indy a championship but he is still badass.....and is still my fav. Indy athlete of all time. Manning is fun to watch b/c he is one of the greatest to have ever played the game.....with Reggie he was just fun to watch: the clutch 3s, the superman Ts, the trashtalkin', and killing the Knicks it was a joy to watch.

Yes we do. It's on 96th St. right off 69.

Northside is great, although it's getting a bit "crowded". The rate of growth is unbelievable. Lands are just getting bought left and right; saw on the paper that a couple sold their farm land by 146th st. (close to deer creek) for close to 9 mill. :eek

GO COLTS!.....what the hell are we gonna watch on Sun afternoon, I guess we'll just have to settle for the Cowboys pulling an upset on the Pats .

MNF :bounce

Marvin may still be out tonight but everyone else is back. Oh and Boimann has been replaced by Hagler. Hagler did play pretty well when he had a shot a couple of weeks but that sucks for Boimann.

Gameplan = unlike last time they played the Jags, maybe play some defense and of course protect Manning, those dirty Fbags will be gunning for him.

GO COLTS!

Harrison is in the lineup, and will play as normal.

Jacksonville usually plays us tough, but I'm not too worried. Garrard's not a huge threat, but he does a great job managing the game and rarely makes a mistake. We just have to set the tone from the start with some hard nosed run D and we'll be fine. If we get a good lead from the beginning, that will really hurt Jacksonville because Garrard doesn't make big plays.

BIG win last night. That really put us in comand of the division.

Nice to see what Freney can do when given a one-on-one match up.

I still cannon figure out how a defence and just let Clark run free like that. There were times when there was not a defender within 20 yards.

Pleasant surprise with Keith huh? I didn't think the Colts did a goob job finding a second back to relieve Addai but Keith is good.

With Clark, he is just a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses. Clark has burnt LBs, SS, FS, and even corners (Champ Bailey) this season

Also the defenses have to account for Marvin, Wayne, and Addai coming out of the backfield. Clark should be a pro-bowler this season. Although that TD last night, I think that was a blown coverage, that's just too wide open.

It's nice to have control of the division again. Three big road wins against some tough AFC south opponents. :thumbsup

Ya, the Colts were took on that deal. And yes, the Titans did pay him a lot of money taking into account the recent medical history and that is was a one year deal. I can't find now where I read how much his one year deal was for, but I think it was for just under a million.

Edit: here it is....

Simon, 30, signed a one-year, $720,000 contract with the Titans in late August

For us normal hard workin' folks that's a whole lot a money, but for a NFL veteran with the # of years he's played, I am pretty sure that's league minimum.

But yeah, signing him alone was kind of dumb and expensive considering his most recent history. And like the Titans needed help with their interior D-line anyways.

See the rumor in the papers today that the Colts have denied about our apparent interest in former Falcon - Grady Jackson? Don't know a thing about him but considering the lack of size we have in the DT position, we can never have enough bodies in the rotation.

Indeed. I'm 25 (almost 26), and after a night of playing open gym bball, I'm sore and aching for the next two days.

My doctors tells me considering all the injuries, sprains and inflammation that my joints have been through to be prepared for some early-onset arthritis :lol.

Um, like Dallas? How did the Pats react? They killed them. I seriously can't wait for this game. 10 bucks says that when the Patriots win, everyone will still say "Yeah, well, the Colts aren't actually all THAT good this year".

Good win today. I was a little worried with the travel they had on a short week, and I think it showed early, but they pulled it together.

I'm already ready to puke from all the Pats ball washers from "sports media".

Did you sell your tix for next week's game?

If everything works out, a few of us are gonna try to go to some downtown bars to watch the game?

Definitely a solid win this week.

The big news:

Indianapolis Colts fans have an opportunity to win a Super Bowl ring under a program announced today by owner Jim Irsay.

Five authentic rings commemorating the Colts' victory in Super Bowl XLI will be made available to the public. All proceeds go to charity.
The three-stage contest begins with a raffle, with $5 tickets on sale from today until Nov. 20. From the raffle, 25 winners will be chosen to participate in a Colts treasure hunt around town.
Ten finalists will then gather on the field during halftime of the Dec. 2 Colts-Jacksonville game at the RCA Dome and five will find rings inside selected lock boxes.

I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Marvin Harrison has been given the go-ahead to play Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts meet the New England Patriots in the RCA Dome, but there’s no assurance the eight-time Pro Bowl receiver will suit up.

Coach Tony Dungy said the team still is weighing the benefit of playing Harrison against the Patriots against the risk of him possibly aggravating his bruised left knee. Harrison was held out of this morning’s practice, missing all of the Colts’ on-field preparation for New England. He has missed two of the last three games.
If Sunday’s showdown with the Patriots was a postseason game, Dungy said, “he’d definitely be playing. The fact that we’ve got eight games left and we’ve got a lot of games that we have to win, that factors into it.
“We really want him to be ready coming down the stretch. If the doctors say we really have a much better chance of him being healthy down the stretch by sitting out, then we’ll sit him out. We’ll all get together and make that decision.’’
Offensive tackle Tony Ugoh (neck) did not practice today. His status, along with that of linebackers Freddy Keiaho (ear) and Tyjuan Hagler (neck) might not be determined until Sunday.

http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071104/COLUMNISTS01/711040422/1256/SPORTS03

The Patriots have beaten everybody by 25 points. They're a force of nature. Now we see what Tom Brady can do with real receivers. You remember Reche Caldwell? He shares a two-bedroom condo in purgatory with Bill Buck-nah. We've got Randy Moss. We've got Wes Welk-ah. We've got Donte' Stallworth. And we've got God on our side. Well, God in the earthly form of Bill Belichick.

Glad to see the Fun with Phonics books have helped your reading aptitude. Seriously, Dungy was being kind. The truth is, Bonds has never been caught cheating. With Belichick, we know he cheated because he was caught red-handed and admitted the crime. He's lucky he's not still on suspension.
And just for the record, Belichick's head is much bigger than Bonds'.

Your Harrison takes HGH. Our Harrison takes M&M's.

The play-by-play is Bob Lamey, he's been doing if for years. There is a reason why he does a LOCAL broadcast. I don't know who is doing the color, he's new and I think this is his first year.

Why do you say there were so bad?

Seriously though, any commentator who refers to the local team as "we" should never be taken seriously. This guy kicked it up a notch and cheered for the Colts and jeered the Pats. He said he "hoped" the flag was on the Pats several times. What a joke, I wish he had an email listed somewhere.

I kind of thought that's what you were talking about. Don't forget he's the LOCAL radio call. That feed is not picked up nationally. I would tend to think most markets have a local broadcast thats like that. He is a true blue Colts fan. He does get excited when something big happens, gets upset if he feels that there's a bad call.

I'll take a game with Bob on the radio any day.

I kind of the think of him like Harry Carry. He's not even close to being the most 'professional' when it comes to calling a game, but it's my home team, and I've got the radio on, I like a fan calling the game. It's so boring when you listen to a national feed, and everyone stays so even.

Yea there are local guys, its on 1050 ESPN radio here but it's nowhere near as bad as that. In fact I don't think I've ever heard anything as bad as that. It must be something in Indy because the Pacers guys are terrible too. Last year I was listening to a Knicks/Pacers game on Sirius and someone on the Pacers drained a three, and the older guy said, and I quote, "Oh baby we got all of that one!". Jesus, call the game, don't cheer for your team.

"WBZ Photojournalist Bryan Foley says an unidentified RCA Dome security guard told him Sunday that the Colts do enhance the crowd noise. The guard said:
"I don't know if you know this, but they actually pick up the crowd noise and pump it back through the P.A."To further their case, apparent sonics expert, the aforementioned Bryan Foley (pictured right) himself says this:
He was covering the game for WBZ-TV and claims the noise in the RCA Dome was deafening when the Patriots had the ball.

"It was almost silent when the Colts had the ball," he said.":eek Imagine that, the RCA dome gets loud and "deafening" when the other team has the ball and get's very very quiet when Colts are on offense ...... Oh no they got us.

"Well there you have it. Obviously the Indianapolis Colts cheat. A photographer and a security guard themselves have indisputable proof! Its certainly not possible the crowd was actually really loud and the fact that sound is trapped inside a dome makes it sound deafening. No...not at all. Get them on the fuckin bat-phone to Roger Goodell, STAT!"

Once again I apologize I didn't go back 20 pages and read everyone's post. I'm sure no DMB Colt fan would make any excuses for their team. Colts are a fantastic team and I love Manning's commercials. Funny Stuff!

:shrug Yes it is.

But one thing we (colts fans) learned from last year that as long as one gets in the playoffs, anything can happen.

Last year I would have been all pissy with this game but eh....it's still relatively early in the season.

I'm just hopin the Colts can get healthy soon before other teams in our division starts catching up.

Pleasantly surprised the Colts are even still in this game.

Between the absolutely horrid special teams and Manning trying to do waaaaaaaay too much - Indy is still in it.

I'm laying the whole special teams on Dungy. It was obvious from last year that there was a problem, I don't who was the special team coach last year or this year but something had to change and it didn't.

Special teams was costly last game and already having given up 14 pts. this first half :BANG

Not saying Dallas is not good, they are very good.

But in regards to teams such as Indy and NE.

Due to experience (esp. in the playoffs) combined with the obvious level of talent, these two teams can have let downs in the reg. seasons but I stiill can't see another team overtaking them in terms of who are favorites in the playoffs, especially a team in the NFC.

Operative word being "favorites".

I'm not saying Dallas is not good at all - they are very good, but in terms of general concensus to who are favorites for the playoffs - it'll always be NE and Indy, unless of course these two teams suddenly hit a wall and just completely drop off. Strictly b/c of the core players for each team have immense experience and savvy.

Dallas are contenders, no doubt.

How so?

If you are referring to all the INTs especially early in the game - that's not a result of choking; that's Manning thinking he can/should try to win the game all by himself, Colts fans are very familiar with this - Manning presses too much and makes bad decisions. It's not a result of choking.

VanHorneDog
11-12-2007, 01:12 AM
Wayne was tired, he was the workhorse tonight cuz manning was all sloppy.

if the chargers had a good play caller for their offense things would have been different though... omg turner needs to be fired.

no it was the one in the second half that was all his fault, some of the ones early were just amazing plays by the charger defense.

they were about to score and he pressed and did too much. the chargers couldnt do anything and all he had to do was go threw the motions. he didnt and choked.

it happens to every QB. i dont expect him to throw 5/6 ints in a long time. :shrug

Eh, it wasn't choking, againt simply b/c of the the non-existent magnitude of the game and Colts fans have seen this from Manning - Manning has the tendency to press too much in an effort to essentially win the game by himself by taking shots down the field that he really shouldn't.

Again, :lol Colts fans who have watched Manning from the beginning has seen this more than a few times in his career.

The biggest reason why the Colts won the SB last year was that Manning finally figured out that he can trust his teammates - which caused Manning to make better decisions, taking what the defense gives him.

Tonight was simply Manning reverting back.

dmbhoosier21

fucked up, choked...same thing. he didn't perform.

Well the word "choke" connonates that Manning for some reason couldn't handle the "pressure" of the game. Just b/c a QB has a bad game does not implicity mean he "choked".

So........considering there really wasn't much hanging or at stake for the game (relatively) speaking eh, it'd be really hard to argue that the game against SD as such.

b/c if Manning choked tonight.......Favre has choked in a whole lot of games; which is obviously untrue.

Basically, Manning didn't perform - that's obviously true, but to say he choked just b/c he had a bad game is inaccurate. Thus "fucked up" - which he did, does not equate "choke".

Basically, Manning didn't perform - that's obviously true, but to say he choked just b/c he had a bad game is inaccurate. Thus "fucked up" - which he did, does not equate "choke".

I see you have a lack of a brady avatar :lol

For the record, Manning didn't choke. SD decided to not suck. Well, at least for the first quarter.

Speak for yourself, I didn't miss it. I missed that as much as the Colts special teams missed tackles.

Ah, much better, no more pretty boy avatar.

Ironic about the game last night is that with all the injuries, the scrubs who played (esp. on defense) did a pretty decent job. A defense with both outside LBs out, DT tackle out gave up 9 pts. Moorehead and Thorpe did a relatively decent job, and the line......well considering what they were up against also did a fine job. Basically, the 2nd and 3rd stringers who played did not lose the game.

But of course the two players who typically wins games for the Colts (Manning and Vinatieri) really blew it. :BANG Special teams sucked too......which is basically a weekly thing for the Colts for the last two seasons now.

Colts need to get healthy and maybe ... fix the obviously inept special teams.

Dallas or Green Bay?

:lol Well I was being a bit sarcastic.

they've had since last season to fix the mess that is the special teams, I'd hate for them to cost the Colts in the postseason. :BANG

Yeah, I didn't want to come in here and say anything. Maybe I'm going soft. I just know that it sucks for some asshole whose team just beat yours to come around and flagrantly hate on your team who is losing. Not cool.

Meh, whatever. And you know you miss Tommy.

Pipe down, Moss wannabe.
Dallas or Green Bay?

Greenbay is second best in the NFC, I'd say. Dallas...uhhhh, no, not better than Indy. Dallas might not even be better than Pittsburgh.

Dallas or Green Bay?

Eh, at full strength I don't see either of those teams being favored over the Colts. I don't know how one could.

All the credit goes to SD, the special teams sucked along with Manning, and Vinatieri choked.

But....the Colts had 17 available bodies on offense.......17!, and that's at the beginning of the game. By the 4th quarter 2 more offensive linemen went down.

Marvin out, Ugoh out, Clark out, Gonzales out, etc.....

on defense - both outside backers were out along with a starting DT.

Again, to judge the Colts merely on last night's game and crown any team above the Colts especially come playoff time or at full strength is a bit premature and shortsighted.

What do you mean since last season? The Colts special teams have sucked for years. I would guess to say over the last 10 years they have go to be in the bottom 5. I've seen it cost games year after year. I just can't belive they only gave up what they did last year in the SB.

green bay :lol :lol :lol

i'm not saying they aren't good, but they are one of the worst 8-1 teams i've ever seen.

Green Bay opponents this season have a combined 38-43 record
Indianapolis opponents this season have a combined 47-34 record

Green Bay is good, but i don't know that i'd put them in my top five.

Nah, I just know what it's like to be on the receiving end of it. Plus, I'm not a SD fan at all, so why would I hate on the Colts cuz they are losing in that situation? Lame. Sauce.

Colts kick in

Pete Ward, the Colts senior executive vice president, presented a check for $25,000 in the name of owner Jim Irsay and the Colts to the Chargers Fire Relief Fund during a pregame ceremony.
The money will help provide temporary housing for victims of recent San Diego-area wildfires.
"We want to do our part to help people who, through no fault of their own, have been left homeless," Irsay said in a statement.

That's pretty cool. I didn't catch this before the game.

Freeney hurt

Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney left the game with an injury during the fourth quarter. He was wearing a protective boot on his left foot after the game. No further information was available.

Damn, damn, damn.....

Tough loss last night. This is the second weekend in a row where both of my teams lost (Purdue and Colts).

On the one hand, I find myself thinking that there really shouldn't be any excuses for the Colts. And that includes injuries.

On the other hand though... look at what Manning had to work with. Honestly, I am utterly amazed that he was even able to get a few completions to Wayne. Then again, I'm sure that any NFL defense would be scared of Aaron Moorehead and his amazing hands to keep him solidly covered the whole night.

But put all of that aside... Peyton's 6 interceptions, injuries, special teams who sure are 'special' (as in the olympics), and one thing jumps out at me.

Missing a 29 yard field goal to get the lead with 1:31 left? The greatest clutch kicker of all time. Come on, Adam. Earn your paycheck.

Now we're only one game ahead of Jacksonville AND Tennessee.

Ugh... I'll stop now.

Let's see... Green Bay DEMOLISHED Minnesota... who DESTROYED San Diego... who BEAT Indy... That means that Green Bay is lightyears ahead of Indy!!! :lol j/k

I love that Green Bay doesn't get the credit that they deserve for playing good football. Let them keep flying under the radar!!
