I think the Colts finally have the advantage. If the team finds a way to lose this game I predict a riot. New England just is not a dome team in terms of personel.

This is a new and energized defense the Pats will be facing. Their running game will not be a factor and can't get into a shout out with the Colts. Manning will have a better game, no doubt, but it's going to be Adai who is going to bust out this game. If the Chargers had used LT more they would have won the game. The Pats defense is old and slow. The Colts have scored in their opening drives in both games. Mt prediction is Colts 31 Pats 17. With Manning throwing no INT's and Adai rushing for over 100 yards.
GO COLTS!!

Colts are better on paper, but just can't count out Brady - guy is clutch
Difference will be defense once again, obviously. They contain the run and put sustained pressure on Brady, Indy has a real good shot at winning. And Please Manning, play better!

I honestly believe that if the Colts still had "the idiot kicker", they would have lost the Baltimore game.

I think it comes down to this. The Pats don't have the playmakers playing LB to hurt Manning with pressure, and they don't have the DBs to cover the receivers.
If this game were in New England I think I'd give them a better chance because of their size and power, but in the dome they are going to look old and slow.
Neither the Jets or the Chargers have the amount of playoff experience the Colts do under center and on the sidelines, so this is the Pats first real test.

I wish the Colts good luck. Manning has paid his dues. Some people deserve a ring for what they've done for the NFL, and he's one of them. Hopefully his team will continue to do well! If their D continues to their streak, the patsies may be in some trouble. I know that crowd in the dome will be the loudest they've ever been. GOOD LUCK from The Burgh'!!

First off, spelling it like "fukt" is a joke, and I do it often, and second....damn good chance must now mean no chance at all. If the Patriots beat the Chargers even though Tommy threw 3 INT, and the Colts couldn't even score a TD against the RAVENS. Yeah.....the colts are FUKT.

This years Ravens Defense, the 2000 Ravens Defense, and the 85 Bears Defense are the 3 greatest Defenses ever. The Ravens lead the league in allowing points per game this season.

San Diego MAYBE has a better defense than Baltimore when you stack up their front seven, but in the secondary it's not even close. Chris McAlister and Ed Reed? Who do the Bolts have, Quentin Jammer and Marlon McCree? It's not even close in my book.
By the way, where was Bart Scott's hot sauce that he was gonna pour all over Peyton Manning and Joseph Addai? I didn't see much of it.

I more meant that everyone and their mother fellates the colts like they have won 29 super bowls in a row and Peyton Manning is this ridiculous unstoppable force in the world of the NFL. Ten bucks says that for the next week, all we will all see/hear about is the "winning streak" that the Colts are on, and how they are an unstoppable force and this year "might be the year Peyton gets his ring". But no one will mention how their winning streak is only 3 games and they have had to go up againt the two easier teams in the two weeks of the playoffs (Jets and Chargers is more difficult than KC and the Ravens).
Oh, and I am so glad that I don't have to hear about the f*cking ravens tomorrow at work.

seriously, do you even know who I am/have had a conversation with me in terms of Football?
Beginning of the year EVERYONE was fellating the miami dolphins and how they were going to be super bowl champs. I said they'd be lucky to go 6-10. Yeah, who was closer in that prediction?
Beginning of the year EVERYONE said that the Patriots had lost too many people to even make it to the playoffs. I said they'd be 12-4 at the worst and win the AFC east. Yeah, who was closer in that predicition?
Beginning of the year, EVERYONE was saying that the Eagles were going to be the NFC super bowl contendor. Granted, I said they'd be lucky if they went 10-6 and that they may not even make the playoffs. Shit, I was way off on that.
You should try being more realistic and be able to understand the game more or understand who you are talking to before you make a statemen like "you have a small amount of knowledge about the NFL" because I assure you, my firend, that clearly shows that you are the one who knows nothing.
I believe the Colts will lose this coming weekend. Is that, or is that not, "fukt" in the eyes of the big picture of the NFL in terms of what teams try to accomplish as an ultimate goal each season?

No, my reasoning was that the tems that the Colts lost to were KILLED by the Patriots in the regular season at the same time. Granted, the post season is different from the regular season, but you have to take these things into account. Not to mention, the Patriots beat the Jets and the Chargers...the two better teams of the two matchups (meaning the Jets were better than KC and the Chargers were better than the Ravens). The Colts are not as good as people claim they are....the Patriots sucked when they played the Colts, and it's a completely different team now.

The Pats were lucky to get a win in SD. This is not the same team that won the 3 Super Bowls. Boston fans are so spoiled!! Thinking that the Pats and the Red Sox are always going to win it all.
If you had not lost to us, at home, then this game would've been played in NE. You don't have anyone to cover our wideouts, and Dallas Clark and Adai are going to have a field day. These playoffs proved Manning doesn't need to have a big game for out team to win. But, if Brady throws 3 INT's again this game will be over at the half!!

Being that the Colts will most likely be Super Bowl bound (barring a giant collapse by the Colts), I'd like to briefly mention something that bugs me.
That is, the half time show. Prince? Wtf? Prince is so over-rated and yet it is somehow hip to like Prince. Most of the people who like Prince don't even know why, they just want to be fashionable. All because of Janet Jackson's boob, we'll probably never see an exciting half time show ever again.
Anyways, if this were about heart, the Saints would trounce all. The Bears are so unpredictable game to game (and dare I say, also over-rated?) that I can see them playing like crap and the Saints pulling one out. Obviously though, most of the country wants to see the Saints go all the way.
Indy is dangerous right now because they have momentum. You never know though, New England might surprise us and beat the Colts. I'm just doubting it since the Colts seem to be catching that playoff magic that propels teams all the way (see: Pittsburgh Steelers last year).

Try and keep an open mind. I'm not the biggest Prince fan either, but that guy is one hell of a guitar player. As long as it's not some kind of crazy 'pop' halftime show, and they let him rip it up, it could be really good. I've seen him do some pretty damn good stuff before.

Well, since these patsie fans have it all figured out from using season games to explain how they'll win. You mean like the romping you took from MIA?
Playoff momentum is what counts! And DEFENSE is what wins games.
Now, after receiving your GIFT from SanDiego, lets take a look at where your stout defense stands against Indy's.
NE is averaging 349.5 yards allowed PER game. Indy...185yds per game.
NE's D has played 128 downs in the 2 games. Indy....96 plays TOTAL.
NE's 3rd down efficiency....32%. Indy's.....13.6%
NE has allowed 37 points in 2 games. Indy....14pts.
So, momentum wise, Indy's D is rolling.
In the Rushing game, Indy leads...144yds/game against NEs 104.5
NE has a very slight edge in the passing game the past two weeks.
Brady's 238yds/game versus Manning's 204.
Brady has 3INTs, Manning 5.
All that being said, I think Momentum, Defense, and pounding the ball by Rushing is what wins.
Comparing the two....Indy advantage. Now, add that with Manning needing to overcome the monkey on his back, home feild, and NE just thinking they will win by the past.....Indy 23 NE 20
And besides all that...I just respect Indy fans more than the uppity folks from NE.

momentum, yes, good. Let's compare the momentum then.
Colts winning streak: 3 games...last two were against the crappier of the two matchups
Patriots winning streak: 5 games...one being beating arguably the best team in the NFL regular season, and two being completely raping teams that the colts lost to only weeks before/after
Peyton in the playoffs v. the Patriots: 0-2
And as we know, defense doesn't necessarily win :) (see: Baltimore).
I don't think it's going to be a blowout, but San Diego is a much better team (even though they completely sucked on Sunday, but the Patriots did as well) than the Colts this year, and well, as we see, the Patriots have been generally playing better on the road, so the whole "home field advantage" doesn't really apply to this situation. When are people going to realize that 2 or 3 people don't win it all; a TEAM does.

That's some good knowledge there, but you forgot one major point. NE has Brady, so that means they win no matter what. I can't believe someone that is into football as much as you are would over look somethinng like that.

Indy has what San Diego doesn't....experience. Yes, Colts have choked, we all know that. And Yes, we all know Brady has a great track record. I am not doubting his greatness. However, I go alot by my gut. And I just feel that Indy will get past NE this weekend.

Where has the "big play" gone? You know the ones that go for 35+ yards for a TD. Usually it's a stop and go route - Manning to Harrison. Or to Wayne down the sidelines or to Clark down the middle.
Yeah I know it's the opposing defenses playing "soft" keeping everything in front of them and placing their safeties yards and yards down the field but damn i'd love to see one (maybe 2 or 3?) this Sunday.
Although Belichick (sp?) will probably have the same plan as KC and Balt. Related to the secondary - keep everything in front of them and give Manning different looks up front.
:thumbsup Here's hoping to a Pat's safety biting on a stop and go route - Manning to Harrison TD pass this Sunday. And a solid running game and of course to the defense keeping it up this Sunday and yeah....Manning getting back to form
GO COLTS!

momentum, yes, good. Let's compare the momentum then.
Colts winning streak: 3 games...last two were against the crappier of the two matchups
Patriots winning streak: 5 games...one being beating arguably the best team in the NFL regular season, and two being completely raping teams that the colts lost to only weeks before/after
Geez, Ms. Buttchin causing trouble again......
anyways, I'd like to go ahead and disagree with you about the Colts beating the crappier of the two matchups statement cus.....I'd rather do this than write my paper.
Jets vs. KC - I think that one is very arguable as to who is better. KC has a better running game and a decent defense comparable to NY. Passing game is about the same, but never have been a better fan of Pennington. I don't know how one can definitely say that one is better than the other.
Baltimore vs. SD - SD is the best overall team on paper but Baltimore is the best defense in the league on paper and on the field. Baltimore is just plain scary on defense. Their worst LB is Ray Lewis who has lost a step or two but is still better than most LBs out there. Bart Scott and A. Thomas are just monsters. Their secondary has a shutdown corner in McCallister and Samari Rolle aint bad either. And yeah, that Reed guy is pretty good too. Their 3-4 defense can give you many different looks and it's harder to see where the blitz is coming from - Simply Baltimore defense is one of the best defenses ever. Related to offense - it's no match SD with LT and that O-line is one of the best in the league (if not the best) and Rivers is coming to his own. Baltimore has a good O-line and RB. A veteran QB who needs some playmaking wideouts.
SD is the best team overall talent-wise. At the top of the league on offense and defense. Baltimore has one of the best defenses of all time. The difference between the two teams (other than offense) is playoff experience. Baltimore has won it all with that defense. J. Lewis is a veteran who has won a SB ans McNair has also won the SB. SD lost (IMO) b/c of a lack of experience, they were up in the 4th quarter and lost it and panicked at the end when NE tied it up. Saying SD is "better" than Baltimore is again very very arguable.
Plus...... the whole "who beat who and when" doesn't matter at this point - it's the playoff - Every single team is a solid team that can beat any other team on any given Sunday.
It'll be a good game Sunday
GO COLTS!

As much as I dislike NE, can never discount them out with their exp., Tom Brady and Belichick.
Though I think homefield advantage will do wonders not only for our offense but our defense as well in terms of pass rushing - with Freeney and Mathis being on the turf and not having to worry about crowd noise. If Indy contains the run - there's a good shot for the Colts
I really hope the Colts adjusts against the "wham" running play where the TE goes in motion and blocks down on a DT and an interior O-lineman goes up field for our LBs. The last game against the Pats, that play dominated the defense.

I was reading the Bolton paper on line and they were making a bid deal out of that. I'm sure Baltimore doesn't mind trying to make Manning and the Colts look bad either. The clip I'm sure you saw was a very short part of an interview were Manning was talking about how good a team the Pats are, how they're gonna need the help from the fans and come out to the game. I took it as getting the fans involved, not crying to the fan to not give their tickets away.

Well, it's not that it's a huge deal, it's more of a "Peyton, seriously, are you that stupid. Why the HELL would you do anything other than kiss the Patriots asses? You know what happens when people publicly go around saying anything negative about the Patriots before a game in any context.....you end up having your celebration dance mocked on the 50 yard line after you lose" thing.

so when the pats have met the colts in past playoffs, the pats lost? It's not that we think the Patriots will prevail no matter what, it's just that one would have to be idiotic if they think the Colts will easily beat them. The Colts were strong in the beginning of the season and then completely died...where as the Patriots have been picking up momentum throughout.
I'm just saying that Peyton shouldn't have to tell his "fans" to not sell tickets to the Patriots. If he has that little faith in the Colts fanbase, that's just sad. Tom Brady would never publicly go on the air and say crap like that, because fans aren't what determines how good a team is.

Again, every NFL team does this during the playoffs, and some do it during the regular season. If you call Cincy looking for tickets from a Pittsburgh area code they just laugh at you.
Also, over the last 2 weeks I think the Colts have been more impressive. They weren't handed either of their wins.

Well, one would think you have the mind set the Pats are going to win with out much competition from the Colts. Yes, being a Colts fan, of course I think they can win the game. But if you look back at many of my posts from this season, you will see I've been very critical of the team as the season has progressed. Never once have I said 'the Colts will win easily'. I believe conversely you have said that about the Pats many times. You always talk about this being a team game, how the team playing the best together during the playoffs is the team who wins, but then continues to say the Colts can't win because of one player, Manning. Yes, as a team, the Colts did not finish strong, but there is no denying they are playing some pretty damn good football since the playoffs have started.

I would have to agree. I feel the same way. I've very excited, but very nervous at the same time. This is a very good team. One we already beat this year, so that's going to make it even harder to beat them a second time.

The defense of the Colts is playing well. I also think part of that is due to moronic play calling by both KC and Ravens. Regardless the reason this defense will play with confidence now. Something they seemed to lack all year. I know the whole Manning/Team game thing was to point out his faulty logic. I get that, but even though he's contradicting himself he's right. If either Brady or Manning have a bad game, chances are that team will lose. If Peyton throws another 2 or 3 INTs it's over for the Colts. Eventually you will have to score points. The rest of the team may be the engine, but the QB is definetly the steering wheel.

I know for a fact that Chicago did this w/ Seattle. Although I'm not sure about tomorrow's game w/ New Orleans. In order to buy tickets from Ticketmaster for the Bears game vs. Seattle, you had to have an Illinois or Northern Indiana billing address!
Why do you think the Colts sold those tickets on Monday and only sold them at the local Ticketmaster or the RCA Dome box office. Most Pats fans weren't going to be in town yet for the game and they couldn't go online or over the phone to get tickets!
I got my tickets (thank you company season tickets!) and will be in attendance. It's going to be a zoo downtown but luckily my gf is getting her PhD at IUPUI so we can use her parking pass and just walk a few blocks! Her parents have season tickets also and are going to the game and they've kindly made some dinner reservations at 3pm so we'll be down there early and won't have to be searching for a restaurant with an open table!

Look through this thread - Colts fans call it as they see it - and will admit if the Colts play like crap. Pats fans on the other hand will never admit their team "lost" - instead they will say that NE "gave" it away.

The Colts make tackles......it just takes a few tries to get it right. Usually the runner breaks the 1st, 2nd and 3rd attempts and by the 4th try the RB is usually a bit fatigued and starts to slow down THEN the D (usually a DB) finally gets him by the 5th attempt.........usually
I hope the Colts make me look like the biggest douche of a fan and gets their game together

i've come to full realization that the Colts will NOT win the Superbowl this year. There is just no way that it will happen with that defense. It is a HUGE problem that has got to be fixed. It cannot be ignored any longer. Week after week teams just run it down our fucking throats. I honestly felt sick yesterday during the game watching how pathetic their run D is.
I thought after the Philly game sums it up perfectly. Most of the Colts fans/reporters/coaches were talking about how good the Colts did defending the run, and I think it was also Cato June that said "I thought we did a great job containing Westbrook and the rushing game." Uhhhhhh, Westbrook rushed 20 times for 125 yards and a TD that game. Is more than 6 yards a carry and a touchdown REALLY considered "stopping the run" for the Colts? That is just pathetic.
Superbowl: Chargers VS Cowboys, don't know who wins.

It did :lol But I'm actually not mad at the colts, just disappointed in the Patriots. No sense in getting all pissy, right?
Although, theres a super hot Bears Fan that I kinda wanna get with, so do i pull the "tease him and cheer for the colts" or "try to get in his pants by being a 'bears fan'?" Oh the questions never end.

Well, I'm sure if he's like any type of 'normal' guy, you could be a Raiders fan for all he cares if you're letting him get some.

hahahahahahaha yeah, but too bad I probably won't even go to DC to be at the bar/see him, seeing as how my team isn't really in it anymore.

Is today your birthday? Happy birthday, I feel bad that the Colts knocked your team out on your birthday, but I'll get over it pretty fast.

When they were down 21-3 I had pretty much given up on them. What an incredible comeback, I'm glad Peyton had a great game and could finally prove himself for all the naysayers. Great game by both teams, I'm just glad the Colts were the last to score.

Thanks from Pittsburgh for keeping our most Super Bowl wins by once core group record alive. It was nice to see those smug bastards get sent packing.

Stopping the run and special teams, specifically kickoff coverage

It's a hit or miss thing, Indy has given up a few big runs in the playoffs, including yesterday. I'm sure Indy will be kickin away from Hester all game long

Yeah, it is, and thanks. But technically they bumped them out yesterday, so it wasn't my birthday :) No need to feel bad, I wouldn't feel bad if the Pats had won!

Well, as cute as Tom Brady is, Mannings commercial is really funny and I think that the colts have cooler uniforms, so I was rooting for them yesterday. When they won I did a little victory dance to rub it into my friend's face, cause he was rooting for the Patriots.
I hope they win the super bowl too, so I can continue to celebrate.

When Manning turned to Sorgi and mouthed "be ready"........heart just dropped
Anyways obviously great news this morning.
What about Nick Harper; really hope he will be healthy for the SUPER BOWL
Same with Bob Sanders, it looked like he hurt his knee at some point on Sunday, hope it doesn't affect his playing status.

Nah. I wasn't too worried about it even during the game. I mean, if it was bent at a weird angle or something... that would be different.
Smacking your hand the wrong way can hurt like a bitch, though. I was walking out of this restaurant sometime last month and smacked the back of my hand against part of this chair.. I think it hurt and felt cramped for about two weeks.

Well, if it was broke and needed to put into a cast, I don't know, maybe. I don't think they would do it unless it was really bad, but with it being his thowing hand.....

From what I've heard, Sanders should be fine to go. I don't see how they can keep him out of that game. Harper is still up in the air, it doesn't sound good for him. That would suck so bad, to play all year to reach this level, and then get hurt right before and not be able to play.

Yeah apparently he may have a high ankle sprain which I've had a few times, those are just nagging injuries that takes quite a while to completely heal.
On the bright side Marlon Jackson played pretty well last week and he is the more physical of the two DBs - which Indy will probably need in the SUPER BOWL (feels good to say that)
GO COLTS!

i think i'd laugh if peyton lost. then Boomer Asiason can really piss marino off next year with his "Peyton is today's Marino" comments.
I mean it doesn't REALLY matter to me who wins, but I just thought that'd be funny.

I don't know where Boomer Esaison gets all high and mighty from. I don't see a ring on his finger either.
At least Dan Marino is still DAN MARINO. Boomer Esaison is just known as the QB who got owned by Joe Montana and led a perpetually average Bengals team in the 80s and then a shitty team in the early 90s before he was jettisoned to the Jets, Cardinals and whoever.

If Manning can pick apart the Raven's D then he can def. pick apart the Bear's D. They haven't played anybody all year and when they did finally play a good team (Pats) they lost. Should be a fun game to watch for Colt's fans.

But anyways...I don't know if I'm the only Bears fan...but really. I don't know what it is, I just feel like it's Peyton's destiny to win the big one here. I won't be upset at all if the Bears lose. I want him to get a ring way too much. I feel like we've accomplished everything we ne
