The theory is 5' should be 100 lbs. Every 1" over is about 5 lbs. So...for a woman, they SAY, like 5'4" healthy weight would be 120 lbs. A guy...I think it's more than that...5'9" say, on a guy...about 160 or so? Is this right? I think the medical charts go up every year to appease American society...that's my opinion. But then again, I am 5'4" and less than 100 lbs. so I'm considered CRAZY.

um... ya... I'm 5'4" and I weigh like 228...

...but I'm not allowed to talk about weight w/ people because they get all mad because I'm a swimmer and a vegetarian and I can't keep any fat on my body - believe me - I try... my BMI is still 16%...

People think it is easy to gain weight and not easy to lose weight. They feel you are as thin as you are by choice and that it is not healthy(i.e. anorexiea, bulemia..) It has become a natural progession of age and in society to gain weight and even though obesity is equally unhealthy, people don't see it as a choice. It is a fact that your metabolism slows with age but it doesn't make weight gain right.

I am guess that you look pretty good right now, 20 lbs more wouldn't hurt but once again you have to be in your own zone. i used to weigh 96lbs for the longest time, now it seems what ever I do , I can't get below 140. No I haven't done Atkins, or any other special diets but I am active and eat pretty smart. My body just wants to stay her.

It's hard to fight the way God made you. But what people need to realize is that it's not about how you look, it's how you feel. Back in January I weighed a very unhealthy 215 lbs. I wasn't necessarily unattractive (some people thought I was built.) But I had a thick layer of frosting on my frame and a very low energy level. And I knew deep down I wasn't feeding myself right or excercising the right way. So I changed it, ate more fruits and vegetables, avoided overtly fried, processed foods (except when rewarding myself:evil ), checked food lables and made sure I exercised at least 5 times a week. I'm a slim, lean 185 now and am more active than ever. I love to eat healthy (with the occassional sinful junkfood day, usually once a week) because I FEEL great. People respond to my self-confidence and I buy clothes I've always wanted to wear. Could I look better? Sure. I'm less Bruce Lee and more Martin Gore (from Depeche Mode.) Did I go on some trendy diet? No need to. And hey I feel wonderful and feel like I'm treating myself right.

I have crossed over that line into eating disorders and struggle daily with it, and it's taken a long time to realize that. Now I just try to be happy where I am, healthy where I am. Today, I am both:)

here's a little story for everyone regarding the opposite sex...
so last nite i'm hanging out at my friends place before I go out with my roomies. one of them is a guy i have a crush on, so i'm kinda hitting on him and he's pretty drunk, although relatively good at hiding how smashed he is, but he starts to put the moves on, like pulling me in his lap and what not. so we end up chilling on his bed and i decide, screw this cryptic shit, i'm gonna tell him i like him and if he doesnt like me, then i'll know and i can move on. so i work into the convo how i have a crush on him and he doesnt say much, but a few minutes later he kisses me and we start making out. well, i'm supposed to meet my friends to go out so when he goes for my belt buckle i tell him i have to go, i promised them all week we were going out. so he tries to convince me to stay and i end up saying i'll come back when we get home and he says sure, wake me up, i'll be here. so i go back there and wake him up and he's like i cant believe you actually woke me up...i'm thinking ok, weird but whatever. so i just stay there and the next morning still nothing goes on, and he's being weird so i ask him if he remembers last nite and he says no. so i feel dumb and leave without saying anything. then i call him tonite to tell him what happened. well i guess he was drunk again, but it was no excuse for him to tell me he doesn't give a fuck what happened last nite and he doesn't give a fuck if i like him and he thinks i'm a horrible person and i should get run over by a bus... so i stay calm and ask him why i'm a horrible person and he can't give me a reason, but just says he hates me. so, what do you guys think of that one???

and a little background, i met him the first time last weekend and wound up staying on the futon with him, nothing happened but we cuddled the whole morning and he was kissing my forehead and rubbing my back and what not, all while he was sober so it pretty much rules out the i'm only hot to him when he's drunk excuse cause believe me i've thought of it. the next nite i did hook up with a different guy and he found out about it, so the only thing i can think is he got pissed about me and the other dude but i dunno...

Obsessing over weight is not healthy. My best friend struggles with eating disorders and has the same warped view of weight and always wants to talk about it.
