Thumbprint... Just have Jack lop-off the dead guy's thumb. He's done it before. :D

maybe it's cause i'm a 24 n00b, but i totally wasn't expecting any of it. esp aisha getting killed. ew and her eyes stayed open. ooh, and behrooz killing papa momar. i thought he was about to kill tony too and i got scared...
anyway, good episode!! but the whole aisha altercation could have been avoided by chopping the thumb off - bugged me the entire time.

24 is starting to get like Star Trek. If you haven't seen the guy before and he has no name (applies for security detail last night) you can almost count on him/them getting killed. I saw that coming a as soon as they got into the office. Same thing happened when the team went with Jack and Audri to get the tape with Raines picture on it. That detail ended up getting killed as well.

Couldn't they just chop the guys finger off for a finger print match? They had to take the girl who was one of the only leads ATM and get her killed. What ever happened to compitent people running CTU.

Did anyone catch where the Sec. of Defense told Jack he could have whatever he needed to catch the terriost holding his son in the basement of the hospital. And than five minutes later the lady running CTU (can't remember her name) explains to the Sec. that Jack has a lead trapped in the hospital like the aforementioned conversation never took place.

All that being said. Still best show on TV.:)

yeah..you'd think that the agents that are supposed to protect people would be trained to deal with opposition, ie, Curtiss and Marianne...how were those two agents with them jumped? It's not like they were doing anything..they were standing there! This isn't a video game!

I also can't help but mention a few times each season...

Sean Callery should be bronzed for his continued wizardry with the score throughout this show.

I'm tempted to watch an episode of "Medium" just to catch some of his other work. Callery can turn a fairly exciting scene into a pulse-raising, foot-tapping thriller.

Completely my fault. I will use the tags from now on. But one question. How is that statement any different than guessing on who Heller might be brining in to help? Just wondering what is to be considered speculation and what is considered a spoiler?

mr.MikeD
02-28-2005, 06:46 PM
if it's based on you watching this and previous seasons, and you think it might happen, then it's all good, just throwing ideas out there. If it's a rumor that's actually based on something and is very likely to happen, it kind of ruins it. If you're just guessing, and it turns out that you were right, then good on you. If you somehow know it's going to happen, not so good. Subtle difference, and maybe a pointless one, but then you're talking to people who make a point to not watch the "next week on" and change the channel if an ad comes on (this includes me)

I wouldn't worry about this 'spoiler', it's been floated around here already, but you just gotta be careful.

Makes total sense. I will be more selective in my posts in the future.

:thumbsup Sorry my reaction wasn't very clear. Mike summed it up well.

My guess on Heller was just a guess going on what has happened in the past episodes- I haven't seen or read anything that might suggest Michelle's appearance.

Your post just gave me the idea that you had read or heard something.

Does that make sense?

The death of Driscoll's daughter is going to get Driscoll out (and I think, Michelle in).
Props to Curtis for stepping up in a huge way this hour.
Audrey and her husband - that BS in the car- were they trying to string us along (add drama), or were they planting the seed for Jack and Audrey's break up (which would be more 24-esque).
I hated to see that CTU agent in the stairs get 3 in the abdomen.

I don't think so. Paul was pretty vehement when Audrey was insinuating he had something to hide in the hotel room right before Jack broke in. Paul had no idea Jack was on his way, so he had no reason to act up (that is, unless Audrey told him).

I have a request: when you use the spoiler tag, could you preface it with some idea as to the topic of the spoiler?

For example:

potential spoiler for episode 11 -> the spoiler itself may include content from episode 11 or the commercial teaser for that episode

OR

potential spoiler for Season 1 episode 24 -> the spoiler itself may include details of Jack's wife

I realize that's nitpicky- but when I see the spoiler tag I'm curious. If it's pure speculation I don't mind reading it, if it deals with past seasons I don't mind reading it, but if it deals with next week's episode or something you read I don't want to read it.

Yeah yeah, this sounds whiny, but it's a small extra step I would really appreciate you guys taking if you think about it. If not, I can just not click and move on. :)

This spoiler talks about the preview for next week's show.

I think the big white nuke-bomb-type thing (referred to in an above spoiler) is a "Golden-Eye" / "Oceans 11" electromagnetic pulse gadget. They said something about the helocopter going down. But i don't understand what Jack is screaming about.

I think we're getting a bit picky about spoilers. If it's for upcoming episodes, then the spoiler tags should be used. If it's for past seasons, I don't think they are necessary. S1-S3 are fair game in the thread.

I don't think so. Paul was pretty vehement when Audrey was insinuating he had something to hide in the hotel room right before Jack broke in. Paul had no idea Jack was on his way, so he had no reason to act up (that is, unless Audrey told him).

Shit. They've been questioning Heller's son, and now Audrey's husband, she's the last one anyone would expect, but she's the only one left to have been leaking info. I bet she is dirty. Fuck me.

i just quoted this one because it mentioned audrey's possible badness. I don't think so, for a couple of reasons. When she was kidnapped, she was more than willing to kill herself with the gas so that her dad didn't end up on trial (not to say a terrorist isn't willing to die, but the western ones usually aren't), and she would have to to have been one great actor to be as scared as she was.

She also was the one who id'd the computer dude, why do that correctly or at all if she's involved? Of course, she may have done it to get them to go to the data warehouse for the ambush, but that was the mole's job.

As for her husband (paul right?) if he was really clean, why would it take being fried - twice - just to look up a business on his laptop. Sure he's pissed at Jack, but pissed enough to get zapped by bare wires instead of just looking up a name in interest of saving millions of people? He's fishy still.

Of course, on this show, the writers have probably done something that will blow all of my speculation out of the water (I hope so). And I guess Audrey doesn't have to be in specifically with the terrorists to be dirty, it could be some other angle.

Well, that was long and kind of pointless rambling, but hey.

I guess it would make sense, since he's working for the same people that threw him in jail five years ago.

Of course, she may have done it to get them to go to the data warehouse for the ambush, but that was the mole's job. If she's truly devoted to her duty, I think she'd be ready to die (it would have taken Secretary Heller with her, which was the ultimate goal anyway). In season 1, Nina did all kinds of things to help CTU out in their investigation, and she still turned up as dirty as anyone.

As for her husband (paul right?) if he was really clean, why would it take being fried - twice - just to look up a business on his laptop. I don't think he thought Jack would really do it. After the first time he was probably in shock, and after the 2nd time he realized he had better at least try to help Jack find out what the tie was to his company. Of course, this is all complete speculation, and Audrey may turn out to be clean.

Someone deep leaked info about Secretary Heller's whereabouts; they haven't even mentioned Heller's son in about 4 episodes which leads me to believe he's basically out of the picture. Audrey is really the only one left.

I'm sure there are plenty of racial threads to top to vent your frustrations with the world. This thread is for Bauer and his crew.

what was so over-sensative about saying "it wasn't necessary"??? And if this thread is for 24 related conversation why did you even post to begin with?

amazing. Why don't you bitch at Ken since he's the one that brought that conversation back up. The convo was moving forward until you little wannabe board moderators stepped in.

Will Michelle come back to run CTU or will Tony be re-instated as director only to answer to Michelle?

Tony, given his past, was lucky to get reinstated. He won't be head of CTU. Michelle will come back and be temporary director. I don't see them talking it out and deciding to give it another try (given the national crisis and all), but they may leave it open ended for season 5.

i missed what michele is doing now?? unless she is in a position where she's been following what's happening, it'd be pretty tough to come back to ctu, get up speed, and take things over. hope to see it happen though.

About what I think tony could be like this season, put in spoiler just incase
I was thinking today that I really doubt that tony will be "dirty", he wouldnt have been brought into this at all had jack not called him, a few people here have said they thought he will but it will be a stretch

I don't recall him saying that. In fact, and I can't remember his words exactly, but in his latest interview with Leno, he seemed to really enjoy 24 (he didn't sound like he was ready to pull the plug). Maybe I'm wrong.

I think his contract may be up at the end of this season (could be wrong), but I'm sure it will get renewed.

The show ain't the show without Jack.

If Michelle is doing something at Division, you know she'll be dead by the end of the season. That's the way it goes with those Division people.

Shit, anyone know what the hell Division is anyway? I liken it to the place they put all the bureaucrats until it's time for them to die.

Division is the place that runs multiple CTU agencies. They just happen to be in LA too, "on the other side of the highway," as Mason says in Season 1.

Division would coordinate CTU LA, Bakersfield (Mason was going there to run away in Season 2), Las Vegas, San Fran, etc. Just like in Season 3, where they killed all of the virus-carriers.... it was probably Division that coordinated the Sniper Teams based on the info from the GPS.

Ok, I"m geeked out.

i never understood why it wasn't located in D.C. but then they'd have to pay extra to do all that filming.

instead of the chick who bombed the plane in S1E1, instead of her messing with Palmers hand, it shows Nina kissing Max's boss

Okay, so I just watched last week's show...damn that was good!

We were busy so we taped it and I managed to make it through the whole week without finding out too much...until last Thursday night...when, while watching The O.C. with my back to the television, I believe I was posting in Ants, I hear the following in that low ominous voice "The nuclear theat has been stopped.." before I can get my hands over my ears...

So I knew that was going to happen, but I was still at the edge of my seat the entire hour.

Less than 30 minutes now... :24

My predictions for this episode:
The guy posing as a CTU officer (Maruan) escapes and we should get a hint into what will be the problem for the 2nd half of the season (but only at the very end of the episode)
Driscoll is out. Michelle may be in as early as this episode, but more likely episode 13 or 14.

There will be something else of fairly major proportion, but I don't really have a clue as to what it might be. (We may see Audrey working against CTU in secrecy)

That is my thought exactly. I think Heller's son provides the link to this conclusion. I think his son was thrown into this season as a hint that someone close to Heller is working against him. But I have to admit my theory is tempered a bit when you consider that Audrey was willing to sacrifice her life when she and Heller were captured.
