Am i the only one who thought that the whole Officer/Sgt salute was a little wierd? First of all the salute didnt' look proper and second they did it indoors. I don't think you are required to slaute an Officer if you are indoors, how would anything get accomplished if you were saluting every Officer you saw in the office. That whole scene has been bothering me all day. Anyone have any thoughts?

Last night was the first episode I have ever watched, and that was one small thing I picked up on that would never happen, he was indoors you don't salute indoors... my brothers in the military so I caught that right away

Saluting indoors is required when reporting to a higher ranked officer or when on duty as a guard.. Don't question 24.

I was arguing with my roommate about how bad it was. It was less than a filler episode. We are exactly where we were approximately an hour and 20 minutes ago with 2 exceptions:

Behrooz is now in Maruan's posession (though he'll likely just kill him) and
CTU may know where Maruan is.

Jack is back in the field, the pilot was conveniently delayed for an hour and is now taking off (just as we thought he was about to at the beginning of this hour).

Unless those 2 small plot changes result in something major for the rest of the season, I have to express my disapproval with what was basically a wasted hour.

Behrooz's trackers were destroyed (both of them).
Jack had manipulated the phone lines at the warehouse where Maruan held him and CTU is sending teams to try and get there before Maruan leaves.
The traitor pilot is in the plane and about to go down the runway to take off in what looked like a stealth bomber.
The disc with the information about the pilot is still with the stack of CD's on Edgar's desk.
Behrooz has been told his mother is dead, he doesn't believe it.

Come to find out he took a F-117A NightHawk. Which really is a surprise. Because those planes are highly classified aircraft. the planes are specifically designed from the outset for low radar observability/non detection.

The entire outer skin of the F-117A is covered by radar absorption material (RAM). The exact composition of the RAM is classified, but it is believed to consist of a matrix of magnetic iron particles held in place by a polymer binder.

Im thinking since the plane is still highly classified by the Military. That they(24) couldnt get their hands on a real one to film with. Even though I didnt notice the "history channel footage look" I still say the footage they did use went along with the show (look wise.)

Pretty good episode tonight, kind of sluggish though since really we are at the same place we were an hour ago. Chloe was hysterical when she was talking to Audrey. One of the first times i've laughed out loud at the show in a while, even though the moment was quite grim.

That episode was so gay. I'm a huge 24 fan but was highly dissapointed. One thing that really stands out that would NEVER happen is someone just showing up to an airfield and flying out in a freaking Nighthawk! What is this guys original mission? Why would he need a Nighthawk? If he did have some kinda mission that required THAT aircraft he would have been ran through so many briefings before he took off. They made the stealth out to be some sort of C-130.

i guess they work with what they can. those planes in the background were F-5Es...which aren't used by USAF anymore.

I agree, but this is the transitional period in the season.

They got our attention with a plot early on, and kept it. The nuclear threat was subdued and now there's a lull before their 'real' objective is revealed. Non stop action for 24 hours is a little unrealistic if you think about it.

I'd put my money down for some exciting cliffhanger endings over the next 3 episodes or so.

Although the F-117A can be thought as an "attack jet" or a "stealth bomber", it is not THE Stealth Bomber. The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk is the "Stealth Fighter" and costs about 45 million per aircraft. The Northrop B-2 Spirit is the "Stealth Bomber" that costs approximately 2 billion dollars each. The B-2 is basically a flying wing design where the F-117A is a lifting body/high-swept delta wing design.

Ok I personally don't believe that the target will be the President or something as simple as a building. The thing is this was being planned for 5 years right? This is also something which is supposed to "change everything." Assasinating the President or simply crashing into a building would not require such an elaborate scheme (I mean they almost took out Palmer with a damn handshake) Also it wouldn't achieve these "changes" which Marwan keeps referring to. I mean the assisnation of a President, while traumatic to a nation, would do nothing to help achieve the long term goals of these terrorists. I'm thinking the target is something bigger. They're on a tight schedule, so maybe it's a meeting. Maybe something at the U.N., who knows? However I'm more inclined to think it's something along those lines rather then simply killing the President or crashing into the Capitol. (unless a full session of Congress happens to be scheduled, but then they'd just be biting off Tom Clancy)

I have watched it since Season 2 and this season is slowly making me slip away from being a fan. It just seems like a soap opera for meatheads now. But I'm still going to keep watching it because I love the other seasons. It has turned into the X-Files for me. The thing that made me think of it as being a soap opera was when Chloe said to Audrey, "It must suck to be you. You marry a guy, you separate from him but don't get divorced, then you fall in love with Jack, and your husband comes back and takes a bullet for Jack." That's not an exact quote but its pretty much the same.

But the terrorists had a chance to kill her but "kept her around" for no real reason except potential leverage. I see what your saying when she almost killed herself with the gas, but there are a lot of terrorist martyrs. And even her "lead" with the guy she recognized with terrorist was a dead end lead when he got sniped.

And I'm really surprised no one mentioned this: the terrorist went to set of all of those nuclear reactors. Their original goal was easily over 30 nuclear meltdowns spread throughout the country (giving Air Force one nowhere to land). Unfortunately it was reduced to one, but they still achieved their objective: they kept AF1 in the air. Maruan met with his buddy and asked about the air force section of the plan being in place - they're going to try and find and bring down AF1.

There was a shot that looked really really bad sfx of AF1 with it's wing on fire.
The plane is going down.
Then Chloe says "Air Force One is down."
Some people find the crash site. They look like campers.
They also find the "football," or the US nuke codes.
Within minutes, choppers and rescue are at the site, and the
campers run away with the football.

Anyway, but to my thing...I have this unconfirmed report that a "24" game will be coming out this summer. Something about it taking place between seasons 2 & 3, and tying up loose ends about Palmer, Chloe, and Chase. They got all the original actors to do voice-overs and motion anaylisis.

The two I mentioned are the only one's with no noise at all. You are right that there is no beeping during the final clock of S1.24 and S2.24
Interesting too is that S1.24 is the only episode that has footage other than real time in it....the window that shows flashbacks to S1.1 at the Bauer's residence.
