I have a feeling Tony won't be with us much longer though...:(

I've been watching this show since the first day it aired, and I must say it was the best choice I've ever made as far as TV shows go. This and Homicide and The X-Files, my three favorite dramas of all time!

I don't know where you live. But it starts an hour earlier because of the two hour finale. So I can't wait till 7pm central.

And for all the others who don't know what they are going to do in the summer. If you haven't watched Alias yet check it out. 2nd best show on television behind 24.

I think he is. Matt mentioned somewhere that he's signed on for a couple of more seasons.
Keifer, Tony, Marwan and Audrey were on PBS today with Charlie Rose.
Keifer talked about the next season and that the writers are pretty far into it already. He said that the next season will tie in quite closely to this season. He didn't say whether the subject matter would tie in but he did say there would not be much of a gap between this season's story and the next. No 1 1/2 year or 3 year gaps - it would be a very close continuation.

ill be the first to go on record and say:

the first 23 1/2 hours of s4 -- there were intense & brilliant moments, but overall, the storyline fucking sucked. the grand scheme in retrospect was pretty amazing, but it played out very weakly. too many random shooting for sky concepts, and abrupt endings.

the last 1/2 of s4 (a.k.a s5 24 1/2 hours) was the best sequence in all seasons to date.

Not unless you were waiting for Jack to parachute out above the missle, land on top of it, and disarm it in flight at 600mph at the very last second.

Season 3 was the virus in the hotel, who was the culprit in 3?

Steven Saunders.

And yes, i did think the stopping of the nuke was a little under-appreciated. I thought midway through the final episode the finale was going to be horrible, but they really changed that around. I don't think I can say right now where I'd rank it in the finales (better than 1 or not) but it was damn good.

and i'm damn excited for next season...

Did anyone else feel the elimination of the missile was somewhat anti-climatic?

Definetly. I was waiting for the "wait a minute, I guess it DIDNT hit the missile....oops" It seemed too "easy". Yes, I know it took many hours to track down the missile, but they got all the info from one source, the little chip in the helicopter, then they had no trouble shooting the missile down.

Not complaining, I just noticed it had irregular ease.

not to mention that fighter jet found it in the air pretty easy.
considering they assumed it would hit a major city, why werent those planes already scrambling to try and find it its heat signature in the air in the major areas.

Just got done watching the last two hours from my DVR recording. Fucking awesome! With the exception of the last 30 minutes, as already pointed out, it was pretty intense.

Although I would've been disappointed in Jack's death, I was remembering Kiefer's quote a season or two ago saying that if the writers wanted to stay true to their theme of the shows unpreditability they would kill off Jack to show that anything could happen.

mandy = smoke show. hopefully she will resurface in the next season.
i thought that was a fair ending to the fourth season... but i must say, i didn't enjoy this season as much as the past ones. that's partially to do with the fact that it was so 'easy' for them to shoot the missle down. i mean, they could've done something a little more....... exciting.

A few comments.

1. Mandy was played by Mia Kershner (I don't know if that was the question or not). She was also the Sarah Michelle Gellar character from cruel Intentions in Not Another Teen Movie.

2. I agree that shooting down the missle was CRAZY anti-climactic. They could have at least shown SOME wreckage. Even being shot down, it's bound to create some sort of damage. And yes, it was much too easy for the single jet to find it.

3. Obviously, with Jack being alive, he will be in season 5. A few friends and I were discussing the idea of Palmer getting elected again and bringing Jack back as a mercinary. An agent with no identity...does it get any better?

4. My only gripe with the possibility of season 5 is...NO TONY AND MICHELLE!!!??? Tony's character has evolved into one that is right up there with Jack on the good-guy list, and for Michelle, well, she's damn cute, among other reasons. Hopefully they will be written into the show somehow again. Also, please bring back Kim!

Overall though, after the missle being shot down, I thought I would be disappointed...but no, they turned it around and amazed me once again.

I liked this season a lot. Losing the inane subplots (aka Kim) helped it tons. More engaging (love em, love to hate em) characters.

Next season could really be interesting, since they have a lot of freedom as far as where they want to take the show now. Jack gone underground/freelance could be a lot of fun.

I think Tony and Michelle will be back. They are going to quit CTU from what they were talking about in the show. Chloe also doesn't work there anymore. And they are the only ones who know Jack is alive (except Palmer). The show works regardless of who is cast, though, as long as Bauer does the ass kicking. I still think Jack should join Vic Mackey's Strike Team.

The Chinese realize that Jack is indeed not dead, and make plans to kill him. Palmer decides that he wants Mandy's head on a platter, so guess who he calls? But while attempting to track her down and off her Jack stumbles onto something more sinister, maybe involving the new weasel president and that asshold aide that ordered Jack to be killed. I don't knwo what it would be, but it would have to be VERY sinister and VERY evil...but while this is all happening, the Chinese version of Jack Bauer is hot on the real Jack's tail...

Not a huge fan of Season 4...I thought Season 3 was better because it had more plot twists and the Salizars. And Nina was a nice little piece of ass too!! I did not like the new characters in season except Edgar and Curtis.

They can totally work Michelle and Tony back in the picture because she fired that chick when she came to CTU. The girl that they origianally blamed as the leak. She said she will pay for what she has done! And didn't Curtis get shot? I think they should move season 5 to NY for a change of scenery. And the asshole prez reminds me of Richard Nixon

Being the ridiculous 24 fan that he is he walked right past the security escorting the group, stuck his hand out and said "Thank you Mr. President for one of the best seasons of televison I've ever seen." They both laughed, said you're welcome and moved on.

Mandy showing up was not quite a "hell yea" for me as Tony showing up - but was definitely more of a jaw dropping "oh shit!" punch in the stomach than any other moment.
There have been a number of times when I've looked for Mandy and she hasn't shown up - so the end of S4 was very sweet.
The first time I looked for her was S2.4 where Jack is trying to get Joeseph to open the strong-hold he's in to find out who gave him the schematics for CTU. I swore it was going to be Mandy, but there was Nina. That was definitely the right move though. That's the first time Nina is mentioned since the death or Teri.

Well there could still be a possibility of him coming in again like this season. I read that his show was picked up for mid-season but CBS hasn't really committed it to a time slot yet and they didn't even preview the show or invite the cast to the upfronts in NY at the beginning of May. Alot of times networks make orders for mid season replacements but then the shows they have at the beginning of the season do well and there is no place for the mid season shows.

And click on the article at the top of this page that I posted. It gives the whole list of who is coming back.

It's called The Unit. It's about the life of Delta Force agents. Probably just filling the military quota for CBS since JAG has left.

I never watched JAG either. There is a military show coming on NBC that interests me this coming season called The E-Ring. It's about the goings on in the Pentagon. Plus Dennis Hopper is starring in it.

i don't know dennis hopper. but i love stuff like that. so long as i can follow it all. :)

JimiThang1

Dennis Hopper is a great actor, he's been around forever. His most notable work was Easy Rider. He was the bad guy in Speed and also was the bad guy in season 1 of 24.

Mel4AU

gotta love the bad guys.

is e-ring going to be a west wing-esque show? because i don't watch west wing. . .

JimiThang1
06-13-2005, 10:43 PM
I dunno...my guess would be yes since it will probably follow the politics involved in the Pentagon. Plus it is getting the West Wing's 9pm Wed. slot (which it will be up against Lost)

I finished season 1. Holy Hell! That season evoked such a wide range of feelings. Anger, frustration, sadness, joy, shock, and the list goes on. That shows how great this show really is. I can't wait to start season 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As crazy as this is going to sound, I have a confession to make.

Because of the DMB webcast, and then I was on vacation for the next two weeks, I missed the last 4 hours of the day. I have had them on my Tivo.

Due to a lot of other stuff going on, I was not able to watch those final four hours until tonight. And I just finished.

And, all I can say is Wow! I really can't believe I went more than a month without finiding out anything that happened in those last four hours, and I am glad.

That final was just excellent.

So, Jack Bauer is dead. You Don't Know Jack. What the hell is going to happen on Day 5. I can't even imagine!

My parents rented the first 1/3 of the second season and I have the first four hours in my apartment so I get to watch them tomorrow. I can't wait. Hopefully I'll get all caught up before next season.

If you're a fan of Bill Simmons, you'll love this. From his "More Cowbell"

• Finally, when the Sports Gal was in the last stages of her pregnancy and spending much of her time lying down and saying things like, "Kill me, just shoot me in the head," and "I feel like I have an alien living inside me," I rolled the dice with the first three seasons of "24" on DVD so we would have something regular to watch during the times when she wasn't groaning and speaking in tongues. Well, we banged out Season One in five days. I'm not even kidding. Then she had the kid midway through Season Two – at this point, we were obsessed enough that I brought my laptop to the hospital and we knocked out two episodes the night the kid was born. Again, I'm not even kidding. And within two more weeks, we finished Seasons Two and Three.

I guess I have three points here:

1. Not only is "24" one of the 10 greatest shows of all-time, I will never forgive myself for not watching it sooner. This is like my "Sopranos" debacle all over again. When people keep telling me to watch a show, I instinctively don't trust them and decide not to watch it. It's a real problem. I might need therapy or something.

2. Jack Bauer has officially entered my personal pantheon of Hollywood cops/federal agents, right up there with Sonny Crockett, Johnny Kelly, Kelly Garrett, "Pepper" Anderson, Phil Esterhaus and Brock Landers.

3. If somebody from Fox doesn't send me an advance copy of Season Four, I'm going to commit murder.

I am sure this was covered somewhere in this thread, but I'll be damned if I am going to hunt for it... so here goes.

What the hell happened with that kid Behrooz (sp?)? They sent him off in the van, are we supposed to assume that he was killed??

Why does cliche always equal bad to some people? There's hardly anything that isn't cliche anymore, what matters is how it's pulled off, and this show did it emotionally and it was an great ending to the season.

That is great and I totally know what he means about not watching something that's recommended to you. I was lucky enough to watch 24 from the airing of S1.1, but in the case of The Sopranos I never watched a single second of it. My roommate had all four seasons on DVD and early last year I decided to watch the first episode of Season 1. Well it only took about two months of weekends to have watched all four seasons. I think I need to go to the store right now and pick up Season 5.
Great show.

Here is the full article regarding the impending "24" movie (text from DarkHorizons.com):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

A movie (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050617i.php#) based on the Fox (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050617i.php#) series 24 is in the works according to The Calgary Sun (http://jam.canoe.ca/Television/TV_Shows/T/24/2005/06/16/1090438.html). Whether it will be shot in real-time though is still up for consideration, says the show's Canadian director (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050617i.php#)/producer Jon Cassar.

"The last I heard, the first hour will not be in real-time, but then something big will happen and real time will kick in. It still has to be worked out -- it's at a stage where they need to write it" said Cassar

He will not predict a storyline for the big screen (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050617i.php#) version of the hugely popular show. He says the script will likely depend on what's happening on the series prior to the movie coming out. "It could still be two years from now, so it's far too early to say," he says, adding even if he did know, he wouldn't give it away.

JimiThang1
06-18-2005, 10:10 PM
I'm sure it will be at least two years or maybe even longer before a movie comes out. They are going have to do the run of the series first before anything. And right now the order is for 2 more seasons and maybe even longer if Fox renews it in 2 years.

I still think it should be based on that operation (DAMNIT :twenty4, I can't remember the name of it at the moment, the one where Jack wet after Drazen). The first non-real-time part could be about the events leading up to it, and then the operation itself would be in real-time.

Possible MAJOR spoiler for how the first part of next season will begin...this comes from an early draft so nothing is final yet (source E! Online)

Season five starts off in a foreign land, where our man Jack has been hiding. Time has passed, and he has a new hot little squeeze who has a 15-year-old son. And there's a devastating terrorist bombing that brings him back into the fold with CTU. Surprise, surprise.
