maybe s is his cover up. like superman takes off his glasses, "they hired spenser??? I don't know anybody named spenser????"
:lol
And I think Lynn McGill is just playing the tightwad supervisor from division. I don't think he will turn out bad. But I do definatly think he will screw up by going by the book.

Really love Aaron too, especially when he was Palmer's #1 SS guy. He's perfect in the role and I'm glad he's still playing it.
man, me too....Aaron is one of my favorite characters.
Tony and Curtis also kick some serious ass. When Jack was killing that assassin guy that SpenSer let in, i kept thinking that tony was going to sit up and strangle him with an IV bag or something
oh yeah and i gotta ad this little piece of news (pun intended)
Jack Bauer walked down the street with an erection, there were no survivors

i was ready to be pissed - doesn't CTU do background checks on their fucking employees?? but it was alright, since he wasn't a 'true' mole. oh, and jack ends up marrying which ever one of Audrey and Spin City doesn't die.

the jack and audrey thing was soooo predictable. i thought the episode was quite slow, but it set up the entire season, and i think in a very creative way.
sean astin, so far, is fantastic. i just want db woodside to play a bigger role
@drian
01-24-2006, 09:05 AM
from sean astins facial expressions, (namely his first appearance) I really get the impression, that he has never been in a #1 position, he always seemed to take a deep breath after he would give orders, and look like 'whew, he listened to me'
i dunnno what that means... but thats how i feel

For those of you that thought it might have been at 8pm - it was at 8pm on Global in Canada as we had our Election last night.
Coverage of the Election started at 9pm, so Global broadcast the new episode of 24 from 8pm-9pm EST.
Fox aired it at 9pm.

I thought it was at 8. And at 7:55 me and my friends were still at the dining hall and I'm trying to rush everyone to leaving. Then because the guy driving forgot to drop a girl off, we doubled back and I didn't get home til about 8:20 :violent but then I found out it was at 9

I was watching the leafs/sens game and someone came in at 820 and turned the channel on me(never do that with my sens for a sidenote) but after a heated debate I got the game back knowing full well Fox would have it at 9pm
Woohoo, internet comes back just in time for 24 to start. I watched the first 4 episodes today. It's crazy how addicting it is. Every time I finish one it's like I have to watch the next. I'll rent the other seasons this weekend (no charge to me) and all of you can shut the fuck up :twenty4

this is some of spensers dialouge, while letting the assasin into the building...
Spenser: Mr. Cummings told me it would be best to keep you off the manifest.
Spenser: I don't know what files, Mr. Cummings asked you to download...
now i dont recall, but did we know his last name was cummings? or did we only find out after the atempt on jacks life?

Here's a question that has been bugging me since I saw the episode. So one of the plots is to kill Jack and everyone who knew that Jack was alive, right? Now if that's the case, why would the guy posing as the CTU doctor leave Tony just lying there? Seriously, I got real upset during that fight cause I knew Jack was gonna kill the guy, then look over and realize that Tony was dead. Now don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled they didn't kill him off, but that was something that makes no sense to me.
Any thoughts?

my thought was and is...
the assasin has to kill the dr first to assume his identity... then he left tony alive so that jack would come down, and walk over to him... jack would probably be smart enough to realize tony was dead... if the assasin killed tony firt... like the monitors would be flatlined and buzzing like crazy, or the assasin would of had to turn them off, also drawing suspicion...
so what does the assasin do, decides to kill jack first, then probably kill tony second...

My thoughts are that it was never to just kill the people that were in the 'know' about Jack being alive. It was to kill them, and then set Jack up for the killings. (The motive would be that they knew he was still alive, once they were all dead, he would be home free.) Once the plot to frame Jack was shot down by CTU backing up his story/ him coming out from undercover, there was no longer a reason to kill those left that knew he had been alive. And we all know, if you pay an assasin to only kill one person, you're not going to get a second one for free, right? :D

That is correct. The whole point of killing off the people who knew Jack was alive was to frame him for Palmer's death, and now that that's failed there's no reason to continue to kill them.

I'd like to know what exactly is Mike Novick's position title (and Cummings too, for that matter, though based on what's been said my best guess so far is Chief Of Staff), but Novick's is particular curious given now that he's been it for both a Democratic and Republican administration. Well, and sorry to seem like a pest on this, but I believe there's something even more specific than that. Like with Rove, he's actually the Deputy Chief Of Staff, I believe (& I'm speaking as someone who's a monster "West Wing" fan, if that gives you a better idea as to where I"m coming from). But in which case, even if he was someone that high, the DCOS, it's extremely rare and odd that someone would be that for a Democratic and Republican pres, especially so close together.

if u go on IMDB for the show, it says that Kim Bauer is part of the "episode credited cast" for next weeks episode. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0502260/
so id say its a fairly good indicator of when she'll be back on, but im thinking its gotta be like right at the end. because that person behind the bed just cant be her, if they dyed her hair black i'm gonna gouge my eyes out.

That actor just fits this role so well. By no accident, I"m sure, he's also played a Secret Service agent on THE WEST WING before, and I've no doubt a similar role on other projects as well.
And I really enjoyed the music in that scene towards the end where Jack was in with the president and they had the video link up, it really reminded me of something from season 1 I think it was (and doby, you may recognize this) where Jack knocked out the limodriver for this businessman who had some kind of financial information about the Dennis Hopper character, and the guy believed he was being driven to the airport - but then the camera slids over and you see Jack in his shades driving the limo but the businessman still did'nt realize it wasn't his driver. Jack just had this beautiful stone smirk on his face while the music was just pumping along in that same kind of style as tonight. I dunno why but that little moment always stuck in my head.

I love how that Martha, even now that she's been vindicated and Logan believes her, she's not all "okay now you know I'm not crazy, I don't have to go anywhere, let's kiss Charles and now I'll go on and enjoy this lovely day". Though it was a brief time, you still got the sense from her that she still just may completely screw with Logan and/or his staff just on fucking principle :evil

ok my spoiler thing didnt work on the pervious page. this thread is to speak my mind so so be it.
if u go on IMDB for the show, it says that Kim Bauer is part of the "episode credited cast" for next weeks episode. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0502260/
so id say its a fairly good indicator of when she'll be back on, but im thinking its gotta be like right at the end. because that person behind the bed just cant be her, if they dyed her hair black i'm gonna gouge my eyes out.
other than that, GREAT FUCKING EPISODE!
I fixed your spoiler tags, but not before I read it. You're gone, asshole.
Last night's ep was incredible. So far the first 6 eps have, in part, been a tribute to Palmer, and it's classy as hell. The look between Aaron and Jack as Aaron left the President's room was amazing. If you know the series, you know what that look was for. "That was for Palmer." Aaron is a loyal man, and he wasn't thinking about budging until he told Aaron he knew who killed Palmer. "Go ahead." Just incredible backstory to it which makes it all the more intense.

i got a little exited last night about the plot to make a case for war, similar to S2. can this tie into max and whoever he was talking to on the phone in the last ep when he was on the yacht, just before sending mandy off to shake palmers hand? there's obviously some kind of rich, oil based group that they are all involved in, i'd like to see that go somewhere. I suspect, and hope that the nerve gas plot runs the course in the next couple of weeks, and we get onto something a little more interesting and in depth.
also what was the name of the guy that cummings was talking to on the phone, i think he said nathanson or something like that at one point?

I also have to say that, considering how tired the whole mole thing gets with this series, I'm so glad (though surprised) that they've already exposed the 2 major moles that were working on the side of the bad guys (though I suppose it could be argued that Spencer truly didn't know he was working on behalf of the terrorists, that he was sorta rooked too). We don't have to put up with any pseudo-suspense from them already.

Ok so obviously there's all these rumors now about Elisha Cuthbert coming back for an appearance of unknown length as Jack's daughter Kim this season. Well apparently last week Entertainment Weekly ran a poll on their website for What dangerous situation will Kim find herself in this season? Here are the results :lol :lol
33% She nearly asphyxiates herself while sexily removing her own tank top.
32% Gets trapped inside a locked bathroom stall for 23 eps before suddenly realizing she can crawl thru the space between the bottom of the door and tile floor.
19% Is crushed by an escaped roadrunner while attempting to defuse a bomb bought by the Acme Company.
11% Has her hand bitten off by a loose seal.
5% Finds herself engaged to Justin Timberlake's BFF/personal assistant and must help with Timberlake's laundry.

Thanks.
oh man, THATS what this is about?? Ok first of all I don't KNOW that Kim is returning. There's just been widespread rumors about it for awhile. And as far as I took EW"s thing, that wasn't a definite thing saying she was returning either. (after all, notice one of the choices remarks about her behavior of "23 of the episodes" - and obviously she's not been around the entire season so far) And right there that's another thing, it was in Entertainment Weekly as plain as day for everyone to see, and with NO kinda "spoiler warning" on it at all (which I"m sure you know they very often do when applicable). I posted the text of it because I thought it was funny, it wasn't meant in any way shape or form to be a spoiler, that was honestly the furthest thing from my mind. In fact as a viewer, I STILL consider myself not knowing whether or not Kim will return this season, I believe even from EW's point of view it was first and foremost a joke.
Believe me, I hate spoilers, especially with a show like this. I give my friends in the "Lost" thread crap all the time about how much they're always teasing about knowing spoilers for the damn show. I apologize for any confusion.

With respect to the spoilers, if you have knowledge, information or belief about the contents of a future episode, or episodes, use the spoiler tags.
For example,
Entertainment tonight reports that the biological weapon seized at the airport is in fact a chemical used to create zombies. Rumour has it that Jack Bauer's wife, Nina and President Palmer will all be returning in futire episodes to consume the brains of the residents of Los Angeles. Our prediction: Jack Bauer kicks some serious zombie ass.

malonestar

whoknew13--Can you please elaborate on that... in spoiler tags of course :D
Sure....
My biggest piece of evidence is the murder scene itself. Nina tied Teri up in a chair. When Nina left the room, you could clearly see Teri still alive and well in the chair, facing the wall.
When Jack finds Teri, she is still in the chair facing the wall, but bleeding from her abdomen area. You can also clearly see that there is no exit wound from her abdomen, nor is there an entry point on the back of the chair. Meaning, Nina did not shoot Teri from behind.
Pile on top of that the dynamic between Nina and Teri through the last few episodes and you might pick up on the fact that Nina didn't seem as cold-blooded towards Teri as you may want to think. I think Sarah Clarke did an amazing job to portray the fact that Nina may have actually cared/sympathized with Teri on some level.....leading to her inability to murder her.
At first I wanted to think that Teri's death had something to do with that cyst that burst in her body a few hours earlier, but this really isn't possible because of autopsies, etc. So from the series we clearly know that Teri was murdered....but who did it? Nina did admit to it, but still, we don't really know Nina's true connections. Maybe Nina admitted to it to take the heat off another deep cover mole inside CTU. Tony? We'll see...

Yeah, maybe, but doesnt the show practically force you to do so? Nina left the room with clear signs of hesitation about killing Teri. She was pressed to get out of CTU ASAP. Did she change her mind mid way and run back to kill her? Sure, maybe....but 24 is never that simple. And we still don't know Nina's true roll.

;) exactly the moment I was referencing by my last post.
We had a great start to the season and we're already reverting back to very convenient and contrived plot devices :shrug I'm starting to remember again why I was so ashamed to admit that I still watched this show after season 2.

Well, they need some filler I guess. This episode had some high points, but was very predictable. Let's hope the "February episodes" they mentioned in the commercial don't disappoint.

And boy there sure as hell better be a point as to why Sean Astin was mugged by his sister's dealer and/or pimp, and something better than what would be the thing that's "distracting" him.

Another thing that cracks me up is how from last week's preview they were trying to make this suspenseful thing out of who was behind the bed in tonight's show. Like, seriously now, who could it have possibly been that would've meant something to fans, that it would be a surprise? (& you could already tell it was someone with dark hair) What, had Nina come back from the dead? Had Tony woken up, escaped the CTU medical ward and was in that room waiting for Jack, he having been working for the baddies all along? :lol OF COURSE it was just some random strange person affiliated with the bad guy.

if audrey was at least hot, or not a fucking bitch, i would tolerate it... i mean i love jack, so i would be happy he was getting some nice tail... but that is not the case....
the only down side really with 24 is all the dumb spin off story lines they have to come up with, so they have something to show while jack is getting around LA ... fortunately for us jack can get anywhere to meet anyone in LA within 10 minutes... must be the fords...

Well, while I'm not sure about Jack/Audry being necessarily the worst part of the show (though obviously it ain't the best), and while I don't think I'd call her hot, I think that she's definitely the most attractive girl he's been with in the series. I mean that chick 2 seasons ago whose sister turned out to be a baddie, I didn't dig her and GOOD LORD when she was annoying, I mean by the end she was approaching "Teri" status for me in how grating she was. And as far as Teri with looks, she was just fugly. Now that sister, the baddie a couple years ago, ironically she was way cuter. In fact that was when I still lived in LA and I met her at a party a few weeks before the season began, she was telling a friend and I that she was playing a fairly significant part in the season (though of course didn't even hint of her naughty turn ;) ) But I dunno, as far as Jack's chicks over the series, am I missing anyone? This new one from this season, while I liked her on Spin City and all I'm not really into her, definitely not "hot".
And yea, the travel timeframe element in this show has always been a great source for (unintentional) humor. Especially having lived several years in LA, to know even moreso the realities of how long it takes to get from A to B. I recall one time during the 1st season where Kim and Terri were in a house in the Valley, and based aroundabout on where they were, then the next scene had them reaching up onto Mulholland Drive by car, in the time of the show they literally got there in just less than 3 minutes, as in - quite impossible :lol
But it's kinda cool though, the rooftop in downtown LA that they were on last week, where the helicopter landed, I've actually been on that rooftop myself for a commercial shoot I worked on.

sounds like you have quite a fun job, what is it that you do?
and how did you get to where you are now...
and the only girl i can think of that you forgot about was the mexican chick in s3 who jack fell in love with, and then just left her there, and then was going to get her out, but she got shot.....

Oh right, the drug dealer's wife (or g/f) from Mexico. Boy, talk about a throw away timekiller on the show :rolleyes It was like, they introduce her as like some chick that Jack's basically been in love with while having been undercover with Salazar and becoming a junkie, he keeps going to her in secret every once in awhile and saying "I'll do all I can to get you outta this", then one episode she gets killed in an escape attempt, Jack gets a morose look on his face for 3 seconds, then...... that's pretty much it :D She's never referred to or spoken about ever again. Um, okay? :p :lol
And to answer your question, I lived in Los Angeles for 5 years for my film career. I worked for 2 years there at Sony/Columbia studios for a director, but most of the 5 years was spent both before and after that stretch working as an on-set production assistant on a couple indy films and 1 TV show but mostly commercials. I temporarily moved back to my hometown just outside Philadelphia in 2003 for a bunch of reasons, but plan to head back out to LA in another couple years. I'm a screenwriter but will eventually be directing.

It's just in spoilers so i don't end up getting myself banned
Even though Jack ended up catching the guy who made the Cypress Recording program, i think that will somehow tie back in to the people who altered the recording that Logan ended up hearing - but the 1st lady knew got changed. Probably at least not for a few more episodes. I hope that was somewhat coherent

Something might happen with that. I think it is too big of an issue for it not to come back. This season has been kind of slow in my opinion, so something big is bound to happen. Kim is going to screw things up once again and I think its going to have to do with season 2.

sorry. Yeah the connection with Palmer is not done yet. This season has been slow in my opinion. Something big is going to happen and with all the references from Palmer, I think it has to do something with a prior season. Kim is comming back and she is bound to screw something up.
greg87lax
02-10-2006, 01:02 AM
yea man, this season has definitly been slow. With Kim coming back, the cleavage amount will increase exponentially, but I'm almost afraid this will contribute to the slowness. Jack spends enough time saying NOTHING on the phone with audry, hopefully the same won't happen with kim. Maybe she'll get kidnapped on her way to ctu :thumbsup
joepsu0985
02-10-2006, 02:03 AM
I dont think they left audrey there just for Jack's eye candy. She has to play a bigger roll. All Jack's chicks did. I think they all died too. Hopefully it happens in the next few shows. I bet she goes to pick up Jack's daughter and they both get kidnapped
