This is the link to the Season 2 DVD which is where the Extreme Desktop is which someone asked for earlier. It's currently inactive but I'm sure that's temporary.
http://www2.foxstore.com/24/
I notice there is a show after next weeks episode with Michelle and Tony, sponsored by The Day After Tomorrow. I have no idea how good the Fox Inside 24 show will be but it's worth watching just to see a trailer of The Day After Tomorrow, which looks massive mates!

Day afer tomorrow could go either way. It was done by the guys who made Independence Day (good) but they also did Godzilla (not so good).
It's got a premise, hopefully they can make it good.

Not to bad of an episode. It wasn't as great as some of last couple of episodes but eh..... Is anyone else's least favorite Chloe? She just seems like a bitch to me.

Or, incase it's down permanently, go here and download the Alien Xtreme Desktop. Then, once it's installed, you can reskin it with 24, Daredevil, X2 and other cool Xtreme Desktops.

I think Jack will figure it all out.

Not a bitch so much as insubordinate...you don't talk to your boss like she did. I have to wonder if maybe she's going to play a much larger part by the end of the season...there's *GOT* to be a reason she gets so much damned screen time.
PS I guessed the whole Michelle plot right when he said "is she leaving yet?" The writers are good---I'm better. Shoulda captured Chloe.

I hope so too - the trailers are chillingly good, especially when Ian Holm says "Save as many as you can"
Chloe is a topsy turvy character isn't she. One second you may feel good about her and the next you want to shoot her!
Tonight I thought she did the right thing. Just like Michelle telling Chappelle Tony was not fit to do his job when he first got out of hospital.

my theory is she gets so much screentime because everyone bitched about how Kim was the annoying one and they needed someone to replace her

I'd have to disagree with you on that. It's not really a twist anymore, they did it 2 seasons ago. Do you remember when we all thought Gael was a spy? Most of us were pretty annoyed that they were rehasing old plot lines.
Of course, no one expected the curve ball they threw us on that one, huh?

Wouldn't it be interesting if Saunders made the virus so it wouldn't effect Michelle. He knew all along and knew that he would take her. That is the only way I think he would know to prepare to have a truck there to kidnap her. I think that would be interesting, very near impossible if you could do it but interesting.

A "smart" tv show is one that challenges you while watching it without sacrificing reality to increase drama. For 2 1/2 seasons 24 was pretty damn close to (if not) the best show on TV. I realize Matt and Mark are suspending your disbelief to a higher lever than I am, but the thing that pisses me off is that I felt I never had to do it at all with the show before and now it seems like every episode has something I'm shaking my head thinking, that's not realistic.

Interesting concept but it sounds a little too much like "The Game" by David Fincher. A little too impossible without fully knowing Michelle's behavioral patterns (CTU Psychiatric profile?) and a little too risky for a guy like Saunders. (like there isn't a risk with potentially infecting 5 million people!!!!!)
I agree that Chloe's character has not been fully revealed yet. I was suprised they brought Adam's character a little more into the spotlight with the news of his sister Sarah.
All will be revealed within the next few weeks and I think it's going to be brilliant!
I notice on the 24 official message site they are saying Season 3 is going to be available in July. Sounds incorrect to me. Surely the NTSC would be released first and not until September sometime. I think September is a good release date as you watch it over again in pristine video and audio quality then jump into Season 4.
Cool message from the crew on the sylviaimports site. Nicely done.

I haven't been through the entire thread (limited time), so I will just throw my two cents in, maybe some repeating here, but oh well.
Chloe rubs me the wrong way...
The video of Michelle was a look alike and only a trap to get Michelle's husband to call the code 9...but, we'll see.
Kim is sexin me up...

from the fox.com/24 episode guide. the final 7 minutes of season 1:
Nina darts into an elevator, and kills another CTU security guard when she arrives at the garage. Nina gets into her car and drives toward the exit. Suddenly, another car approaches her. It is Jack. She fires at his windshield, and he shoots back
as they drive headfirst toward each other. At the last moment, Nina swerves and slams into a parked car. Jack pulls her out of the car and places his gun at her temple. She claims to not be working for Drazen. Yet if he kills her, he won't find out whom she works for. Mason, Tony and others approach, warning Jack that they need
Nina alive. They goad Jack to go back inside to be with his family. Although he wants more than anything to pull the trigger, he relents and lowers his gun. Mason takes Jack into the office, as Tony watches Nina being led away in handcuffs.
Jack happily greets Kimberly, and assures her that their nightmare is over. When she asks for Teri, Jack leaves her to go find his wife. In the background, a television reports that Jack is credited with saving Senator Palmer's life.
Jack follows the wake of dead CTU guards that Nina left in her path. He enters the transformer room and finds Teri with bullet wounds in her abdomen. He picks up her lifeless body and collapses to his knees. As Jack cradles his dead wife, he breaks down in grief and sorrow.
i get chills just reading that.

Think there's ever been a sadder, or more unorthadox, season finale?
And the thing that is so great about it, is that look at how much it's played a role in every season since. Teri's death and Jack's handling of it still shows through.

I for one am glad they're tying the beginning of the season back in; bringing the election back. To me it makes sense, and it's classic Sherry, that bitch. All episode long I kept saying, "Wow Tony is seriously messing this whole thing up." One of the scenes where Jack was asking questions around CTU, and Tony was going around everyone's back - great directing there. The back-and-forth camera cuts were great! And once again, the music stood out. Callery is simply amazing.
3 episodes left - and I have my call on it: Saunders won't be caught. I don't know how they're going to do it - and I don't know where that'll leave us for Season 4. But I don't think he's going down. This is up there with Season 1 as far as intensity goes...
i noticed a couple times that when they showed the campaign signs for Keeler, all you saw was "john ke", and i immediately thought "john kerry"

I dunno Matt. I think Saunders will get killed somehow. I do think however Palmer is going down as President. Either by resigning or losing the election. Plus I think the whole Chapelle thing will come back to bite him in the arse. I do not think the cabinet was very pleased in hearing that he gave the ok to kill Chapelle.

i noticed a couple times that when they showed the campaign signs for Keeler, all you saw was "john ke", and i immediately thought "john kerry"so did i. symbolism maybe?
so Tony is giving in to a terrorist just like that, even after the president reminded him what was at stake. gah. i know that its his wife, but he's going to far without a plan...or is he?

I think what she meant was that David's party (Democrats) would be in disarray over his resignation. Then they would have to scramble to find someone in the party to run against Keeler. You do not see many instances where someone from the same party as the current president vieing (sp?) for that parties nomination. It is kind of assumed the president is running for a second term most of the time. Therefore, it would be hard for the Democratic party in the show to find a canidate to face Keeler.

Tony: 2:3
Michelle: 4:3

Chloe: 3:1
Adam: 10:1
Kim: 50:1
Palmer: 75:1
Jack: 100:1

Sure she is dead, but that doesnt mean her impact on the end of the season is null & void. She still might play a major role, and now that I think about it, her whole situation is still kinda hanging. Speculation about 24 is the easiest thing to do, so as always, we'll see.

So I just watched the episode I missed last week-end and can only say that I thought it was really excellent. I noticed the posts about odds on who's going to get popped off next (CTU agents)
I really think it will be Tony or Michelle. The way this season has gone it's impossible to speculate with 24 - who the hell knows. I would never in a million years have guessed what happened at the old train yard with Chappelle. I even thought Nina somehow was going to weasel her way out of CTU.
Man oh man. It's just SO up in the air. Is Jane involved somehow? Seems too cute. But I did notice the 5 split screen at the end! You're all right, that was totally awesome. Almost didn't fit in the screen!
I loved the tense string plucking (harp?) music that Callerey used with about 10 minutes left in the episode. Really good stuff. I can't wait for the DVD's!

Callery's a friggin genius. My favorite score, however, remains the episode from season 1 where Jack tracks down Coffel and the episode ends with him driving his limo. The music as the split screens form is the most intense I've ever heard.

Season 1, 9:00am-10:00am. The music throughout the entire episode is amazing, as it is for this entire block of episodes where Jack is trying to find Teri and Kim, after Gaines had temporarily taken control of him. In fact, my avatar is from the Coffel limo scenes. :) Right at the end when Jack is racing down the stairs to the garage to beat Coffel there, the music just steps up and rocks you from that point on out. I thought I would enlighten the group with my story...
I started watching season 3 about 4 weeks ago.....just was kind of flipping channels, wife was busy, so I thought I would watch it. I thought to myself, "what the hell.....don't have anything else to do....might as well give it a shot."
Well, evidently I did have something to lose....TIME!
I was so hooked, I borrowed Season 1 from a coworker last week, on Wednesday. (Oh, BTW....I got my wife hooked too) My wife and I sat around and watched one DVD worth...4 episodes.
So this last weekend, between Fri, Sat, and Sun we watched the WHOLE FREAKIN SEASON. :lol
Un-freakin-real.
So....if you don't think I'm hooked yet. We were so pissed we were done with season 1, we rushed out to Blockbuster yesterday afternoon and picked up the first two discs for SEASON TWO!....
argh....now I'm just pissed off that I didn't start watching Season 3 from the beginning. I don't know whether to stop now, or keep watching?!?!?!?
Anyway.....here's to one more 24 fan in the house. This show doesn't even begin to get the respect it deserves.

Yea I'm gonna have to watch that episode again. I just wish season 1 had been in 5.1 Dolby Digital like season 2. It's such a huge difference for an audiophile like myself and with Callery's utter brilliance at conveying emotion into music it really is a must. I just turn season 1 up a little bit louder. :)
I would suggest, if you can stand it, waiting for the DVD's. Although they probably will not be released until September. I'd suggest trying to stretch out watching season 2 for the moment but everyone here knows that would be a REALLY STUPID SUGGESTION. Not to mention impossible.

The whole situation with Jack and Tony was brilliant! Saunders' reaction to the blitzkrieg descending upon him. I was wondering what was going to happen but those F-18's were too cool! This shows kicks major ass!

I told Mark before the episode that I thought that tonights episode was very important as it most likely would either fuck the entire season up imo (as Matt knows I've been having some problems with some of the storylines ;) ) or completely redeem all my fears.
Needless to say. Tonight was great. As good as any of the better episodes from the beginning of the season.

I think Saunders dropped the ball with the whole Tony and kidnapped Michelle deal. OK, Jack catches Tony, and they drive to the telephone. Then Tony gets out, and Jack gets out with him. Bad move. How is it that Saunders has had full proof plans throughout the whole series until now? He should have had someone watching the phone...then he'd know that Tony had been reaquired.

I was thinking the same thing.
I just dont think he could of planned for this to happen, atleast in the detail that it did. I mean he had someone following her, and he also has 11 viles of a virus that can kill lots of people. I dont think he was worried about getting messed with. There's just one thing that he didnt think of, Jack Bauer.

He couldn't have had the phone under surveillance. It was less than 3 hours ago that Jane was caught and less than two hours ago that he escaped from the building with Almeida's help. All things he wasn't planning for.
Can anyone else see this on a Fox promo? :lol
:lol Totally!
I wonder if there is still someone inside CTU? I think there is more to be revealed about Chloe than anyone expects, even though she seems quite close to Chase. Is Chase the man he seems to be? Hmmmm! Tick tock tick tock. How slowly the time moves between Tuesdays. :)
I think last night's episode saved face for a lot of people that didn't enjoy two tuesdays ago with Saunders escaping from the building.
I laughed when Jack screamed "Damn it!" when they realised Tony had escaped. Whilst you could see the anger in his face you knew it was more of a "fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!" expression.

Kiefer files for divorce
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Actor Kiefer Sutherland has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly eight years, citing irreconcilable differences.
Sutherland, 37, and his wife, Elizabeth Kelly Winn Sutherland, have been separated since 1999 and have no children together, according to papers filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Sutherland, the star of Fox drama "24," has a daughter from a previous marriage to actress Camelia Kath.

I actually dont recall who Carl is. But thinking about it sparked the memory of Roger Stanton, CIA (or was it NSA) chief from last season. He was clearly in on the plot in season 2 and the plot for season 2 was just a stepping stone for season 3 (or was it?), so I wonder if that story line will rock us next week or in the final week.

i loved it when jack and tony were waiting for saunders call. that dialouge was mint. and then jack slams the phone down. when tony walked away, i wanted jack to say "ANSWER THIS GOD-DAMN PHONE OR ILL KILL MICHELLE MYSELF!!" but that didnt happen.
what struck me as funny is how quickly saunders abandoned his daughter. he got his jimi thing out of there real quick once CTU closed in. if it was jack, he would have taken everybody out to get kim back.

Carl was Palmer's "problem solver" during the first season. In the end, Palmer didn't like Carl's tactics, especially the coverup of his daughter's rapist's murder (man, try saying that five times fast...). Matt can probably add more from memory than I can.

So I'm watching ET tonight and they had a spiel on Keifer's divorce. His net worth is estimated at US$5,700,000
Not bad. I thought only CTU directors made that kind of coin!

if that was Carl, it wasn't the same guy who played him first season.
The new guy isn't Carl. They're calling him Foxton. I referred to him as the "new Carl" because it seems they have the exact same job function.
To shed more light on season one Carl, he killed Ferrigamo (the shrink) and then planted evidence that Keith burned down his office.

'YOU FREAK ME OUT!'
By COELI CARR
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 14, 2004 --
AS "24" plays out its final three hours, actor Paul Blackthorne is struck by the impact his sadistically villainous character, Stephen Saunders, is making on the series' fans.
"I get very disturbed reactions from people," Blackthorne told The Post. "One guy looked at me and went, 'Oh, my God, man, you freak me out!' They kind of look really scared for a second, and then go, 'Uhh, it's Stephen Saunders.' On the street. It's happened a lot."
Blackthorne's Saunders, a British MI-6 agent-turned-baddie - "He's not aware he's doing a bad thing, he's saving a kitten from a tree, as far as he's concerned," said the actor - has already created the kind of mayhem that provokes audience hisses.
He's released a deadly virus in a Los Angeles hotel causing many deaths, ordered President Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) to kill a CTU operative, and kidnapped agent Michelle Dessler (Reiko Aylesworth) for escape leverage.
The 35-year-old Brit, born in Wellington, England, is no stranger to playing unlikable types. Three years ago, he was cast in the Indian film "Lagaan," in which "I was the English nasty person." As luck would have it, Blackthorne's trip to Los Angeles - to help the film garner support for Academy Awards consideration - jump-started his career.
Blackthorne got cast in the short-lived series "Presidio Med," executive produced by John Wells, an experience he refers to as "a tremendous bonus."
This year, in an abundance of riches, Blackthorne wound up working in another Wells vehicle, "ER," as a doctor romantically pursuing Dr. Elizabeth Corday (Alex Kingston), while he was simultaneously shooting the Saunders episodes for "24."
"I enjoy the idea of playing two assymetrical characters at the same time," he quipped. While "24's" viewers are manic to learn Saunders's fate, Blackthorne is playing his own version of the waiting game. Over the next few days, he'll learn whether ABC picks up a pilot for a one-hour drama he's made.
"I play an English, Broadway-theater director, married to the obligatory neurotic actress wife," he said. "We're doing the best we can to readjust our relationship, now that we have a baby in it."

I gotta go with Nina for that title, hands down. Saunders is, no doubt, a great villan, but he used to be "good." By default he can't be as great as a villan as Nina for that fact alone. Nina was a villan down to the core.
