ok flat out, i got roughly 2 grand, i own a Martin DC-1E and a Martin 000x1. I can get either a new Taylor 714ce or a Martin D-35, i dont wanna know why a martin is better or vice versa cause i love the different sound they both produce, so should i get the Taylor with electronics or get the D-35 and have the electronics installed?

I'd go for the martin between those two, but I'd highly advise you to play one of the new revoiced taylor dreds if you havent. (Any x10 at or above the 500 series.) I personally dont like the x14 series, and have always been a martin fan, but after trying a new 810 a few weeks ago, I'm going to have a tough time with my next purchase.

It's hard for me to give you advice without knowing what type of music you are going to play with the guitar.
That, in itself, makes all the difference in the world.
I (if you can't tell) am a really big Taylor fan....for many reasons. I love their playability, sound, tone, sustain, you name it.......they are wonderful guitars.
Martins are great guitars as well, however, sometimes I am disappointed when I pick up a Martin. They are just not as consistent as a Taylor, IMO. Plus, I really don't like the neck on some of the Martins. Taylor guitars have some of the quickest necks in the business.
You should also play the guitars you are thinking about purchasing, and you should buy the one that speaks to you the most. Sure, it's great to say "I have a Taylor" or "I have a Martin," but if you get it home and you don't like the way it plays, you will be REAL disappointed.
And, IMO, don't buy more guitar than YOU need. I have a Taylor, but I bought a 300 Limited series. (so essentially I got everything a 600 series has for WAY less money) I bought the 314ce-LTD because that's what I liked best, and it was all the guitar I needed. I don't do gigs, but play for pure recreation, so I bought a guitar suited for that and with the type and style of music I play.
In short, don't go spend $2000 on a guitar if you don't need that much guitar. If that's the case, spend $1200 or $1500 on say a 300 or 400 series Taylor and then go buy a nice acoustic amp or other stuff. (again, that's me being partial to Taylor, but insert whatever brand)
Why don't you tell us what type of music and what style of music you'll be playing and then some of us could probably tell you what body style of guitar would be best for you. Remember there are HUGE differences between Grand Auditoriums, Dreadnoughts, Grand Concerts, Jumbos, Parlors, etc...etc..etc..
I think you get the point......
so give us some more info already...before I type some more!:D

When you are dealing with $2000 the term "Best bang for Buck" doesn't really apply. I would stray away from a Martin or a Taylor just for the sole purpose of their popularity. For $2,000 you can support a lesser known, but most likely better Luthier than the Martins or Taylors.
I would reccomend looking into Legend guitars, Lakewood, Larrivee, Sants Cruz or Breeedlove.
Now, with that said, Both Taylor's and Martins are an absolute treat to play. But I still think with these guys you are paying too much for the headstock.
Do a little research and you will be thrilled with your resuts.
