Talk you always like Yoda, yes?

Seriously, you might have to come up with that on your own. I've only seen piano and guitar. But, I haven't done a huge search, either.

Good luck, post back here if you find something.

Well a trumpet is in the key of Bb, meaning that when a C instrument (like a piano or guitar) is playing in Bb, a trumpet is in C. Therefore, to figure out/transpose parts for trumpet, all you need to do is take each note (or key) and bump it up a whole step.

For example, in concert pitch, the Roi sax line in the chorus of #41 is B - AA - GG - A|| - B - AA - GG. Bump that all up a full step, and you get C# - BB - A|| - B - get C# - BB - A. This is a tried and true method. I figured it out when I was bored, playing in the pep band during a football game at my high school.

So basically, you can work with piano and guitar parts to find the keys, chords, stuff like that, which should give you a good head start in figuring out parts from there...

i play trumpet too and it sucks to play guitar music on trumpet.... you starting getting into alot of sharps in your key signature... i guess you would get use to it after a while but i never had the patience... i did play the violin part on ants marching with a band for our greek week talent show.....good luck... if you sit down and figure all the notes out for dmb songs.. send them my way... trumpetboy@hotmail.com

I do'nt think there's any good DMB riffs that would sound good. I've tried pulling little ditty's out of roi's solos to use in my own improv's, but thats about it.

I dunno, I thought that a trumpet sounded nice on #41. I almost arranged the song for a 3 piece (2 trumpet, 1 alto sax) horn section, but didn't get far, until the band kicked the bucket. It sounded really good though... different... but good.

Trumpet will sound good with DMB, but not DMB songs solo on trumpet.

well I got SMTS figured out, was really easy actually. The only problem, is that in order to make it sound halfway decent you have to do a jump from B (right below middle C) to the B above the staff (two octave jump).

Haven't had a chance to look at Ants yet, but it should be really easy, too.

Yea....I was wrong. Trumpet doesn't really sound good with DMB.

Just my opinion.

I'd love to be able to play some tunes on my trumpet...Sucks not playing an instrument that is a true part of DMB....

Aw common, the extra brass sounds great. During the Pittsburgh show they had, in addition to Rashawn, one trumpet and a trombone. The 4 piece brass section was incredible. The brass kicks ass and I hope it will stay stay stay for a while.

I started reading the thread and was like, there's not going to be a trumpet book, rawshawns not been with them long and then I saw the date of 2003!

Rawshawn sounds cool his solos are a bit wank when he just tries to make the highest pitch sound he can though.
