Are you in favor of letting Deron, Dee, and Luther be named co-Big 10 POY's.
How do you choose between those 3??? Down the stretch it's been Dee. Start to finish it's been Luther. Best PG, Deron. I think it may be Dee, though.

I agree. The motivation behind that post was to call that guy out for judging conferences on their top 3 teams and then calling the ACC overrated.
yeah, i figured so. i've just been trying to make sense of all the talk of the Big East being the best conference when their best team would be fourth in the ACC. are they the deepest conference? sure. the best? no way.

a lot riding on this game. NC State will be the 4 seed in the ACC tourney if they win and get a first round bye or a 7 seed if they lose. not to mention what this would do to bolster their NCAA resume.
Wake could assure themselves a #1 seed with all of the losses around them today. if they lose, it's still fair game and they could potentially lose it if indeed Chris Paul is suspended and Duke makes a run in the ACC tournament.

just got back from the game...
3 yrs ago we were tied with about 5 secs to go and Drew Nicholas hit a ridiculous three pointer to beat us, by far the most heartbreaking thing I'd ever seen.
Until tonight. I can't describe the shock and dismay in that stadium tonight, and anger. I was on the opposite end of the three pointer at the end where Atsur got fouled, so I couldn't see it, but it did seem a tad bizarre that he came up 3 feet short on a squared up shot. I was however on the end where Paul punched Hodge in the crotch. What the fuck is up with this little thug? You notice he's starting to get this sort of attention every single game, though never as much as tonight.
I'm just sick. I couldn't believe Gray's shot went in with Brackman's hand in his face, and am even more shocked by Paul's shot going in. So now we have to play FSU Thurs. And then, we get to play Wake again Friday. Tune in for this one folks, there could be punches thrown, it could be wild.
I'm out.

I disagree and think Illinios would be the only team to win. Anywho, in your previous post you seemed to indicate that you think a conference can be judged by its top three teams, but then called the ACC overrated in a different post. There is no conference that comes anywhere near matching UNC, Wake, and Duke. If you look at the Big East they would lose all three games.
UNC over UConn (already happened in Storres)
Wake over BC
Duke over Cuse/Nova
No no...I dont think you can judge a conference on it's top 3 teams. I said that the ACC as a whole is overrated. Since the Big Ten has been "down" since about 1995, they are not overrated. The Big Ten is what they are. A few good teams, a few middle of the roads and some really bad ones.
My points were
1.) the ACC is overrated
2.) that just looking at 3 schools I think Big Ten is better than Big 12
That is just my opinion and I expect people to disagree with me. But don't say I am judging the Big 10 or 12 by their top 3, while saying you can't judge the ACC that way, because I am not. Again, ACC is overrated conference.

It's really a quality vs. quantity argument on which is the best conference. The ACC has three of the five best teams in the nation, which can't even come close to being matched. The Big East only has one team, UConn, that I can see getting to the Final Four. You throw any Big East team in the ACC and they finish with no more than 11 wins. No team in the Big East plays UNC, Wake, and Duke five times and comes away with two wins, and that's if they are lucky.
That's the same thing with the Big 10 and Big 12. There is not another solid team in the Big 10 after UI, UW, and MSU. Minnesota, the most likely team to pick up a fourth bid, was 20-9, but their only impressive win of the year came against Wisconsin. Their best non-conference win came against Nebraska, in fact that was their only non-conference win against a BCS school was against Nebraska. Texas Tech, Texas, Texas A&M, and Iowa State are all much better teams than the Gophers. So if you aren't judging those conferences on their top 3 teams, and think the Big 10 is the better conference, then what exactly are you judging them on?

im not gonna talk about cp's hit to the groin of julius hodge, but throughout the whole game, hodge didnt come out innocent either. the foul on atsur, you cant say it was that prevelant, if you watch the replay, hodge , who was right there is arguing that he blocked it not that he was fouled. if the team isnt going to call for a foul, you cant expect to get it. overall wake played like shit. i hate karl hess, and state should go to the tourney.

Well, I guess I was being a little unclear, here are how I believe the top conferences should be ranked
1. Big East
2. ACC
3. CUSA
4. Big12
5. Big10
6. SEC
7. Pac10
Now I didnt put too much thought into that list, but from the top of my head that is how I think it shakes down...this year.
If you want to compare top3 schools in a conference, yes ACC takes it, but I was only comparing the top 3 from Big10 and Big12. I thought the Big10's top 3 was better than the Big12's, that's all.

they're just keeping it warm for someone else. they're only chance of keeping it is if no one else in that top tier does anything to step up and take it. their conference strength alone will keep them from getting it if someone else (Duke, KU, OSU,) steps up in their respective tourney's.

yeah, but if Duke wins the ACC tourney, (and beats Wake and UNC in the process) you have to give them some consideration. I really think that the #1 seed is KU's to lose at this point, the problem being they probably will lose it. UK looks to be the default #1 if nobody else takes it. that is all fine with me, KU usually plays better in the 2-4 range than they do as a #1.

I don't mean to make light of the situation, hadn't heard anything about his mom. I was impressed with his attitude on the bench as far as cheering the team on, the media has made him out to be selfish, at least the first part of the year I got that impression. He seams to have come around.

McCants has come a long way since his freshman year. It's easy to see why people thought he was selfish. This is the first year he has fully bought into the "team" concept, and made a commitment to playing good defense. He doesn't always think before he talks (comparing UNC to a prison), but he wears his heart on his sleeve out on the court.

There's no way Duke or KU get a #1 seed. I think that BC desrves it. Maybe they haven't played the toughest teams, but they played their schedule to the best of their ability. No reason to punish them for something they couldn't change.

The parody in basketball is really starting show with as many quality mid-conf teams that have the ability to pull an upset, plus with who is playing hot at the time at the top, any one of the top 10-15 could go on a run. And stand a really good chance of not making it to 16. Why does everyone want a #1 seed anyway? Most years teams stand a better chance at making it to the FF by being a #2 or 3 seed.

I can agree with them getting an 11 or 12 simply because the bottom of the ACC can still beat the middle of some good conferences and the top of almost all mid-major conferences. Sorry to mid-major schools but it's true. However I will never say that they don't deserve to play when they win their conferences.
