I like Creighton as well. They are playing well and Dana Altman always has a strong team come tourney time.

bracketology has them up against Iowa St. in the first round and UNC in the second. if that doesn't change, i don't like their chances. i'll stick with the 'Zags.

If that's the way it ends up then I agree they won't get past UNC, but Bracketology isn't gospel. I'll take them to 16 until I see the actual brackets.

I was watching the Winthrop game the other night, I liked the half court trap they were running with that tall lanky kid out top, might be able to break up some passing lanes. Possible early bracket buster.

Winthrop? I'm thinking in the 13-15 range. I haven't checked any bracketology sites to see what they say. But they could be better than some of the other small conference getting in . Ya think?

I dunno, I think Gonzaga would run the Wolfpackout of the building. Morrison and Turiaf is a stud combo. I expect much more from the 'Zags this year because they won't have a "high expectation" seed. Last year they couldnt handle being a No 2

Not likely.... one could make an argument for UConn being the hottest team in the country right now. Theyve won 9 out of 10, 5 in a row including 2 wins against the Orange and @ Pitt. The one loss came at the hands of the Tarheels, but the Huskies were not at full strength for that game. Villenueva is playing off his azz in the 2nd half of this season

That is as long as we get past the winnere of ND/Rutgers. I just hope that we make it to the Semifinals. I'm sure we would lose to UConn in the Semifinals, but I want to at least see Syracuse play since I bought the tickets.
But then again, my buddy Christian is predicting that Syracuse is going to do something that we haven't done since 1992, win the Big East Tournament. He's planning on coming up to NYC on Friday afternoon because he believes that we are going to win it all. That would be amazing. However, I don't particularly share is optimism.

I dunno, its awful tough to beat a team 3 times in the same year.... Syracuse really hasn't hit their stride yet imo, granted, they havent really done too well against ranked opponents..... u certainly cant deny the talent with Hakim and McNamnugget. I dont care what a team has done, if you got those 2 on your team in the dance, there's more than enough reason for opponents to be concerned

Interesting story line in college b-ball, the AD for N Iowa has officiated some of their games this year(as I understand the story) and also officiated some games of other teams in the conf. Apparently he is an official possibly at the Big 10 conf tourney that will have at least 1 if not both teams that are bubble teams.

UConn makes it a habit of beating Syracuse in big games. That is my concern. Calhoun knows Syracuse's weaknesses and is able to exploit them. There is a reason that CBS or ESPN (I can't remember which) had him do the segment on how to beat the Syracuse Zone for the Championship game two years ago.
I won't deny the talent that we have in Warrick and McNamara, but the rest of the club just doesn't play to their potential. Lack of rebounding. Lack of foul shooting. No long distance option besides Gerry. No true point guard. All of these things really hurt us but nothing seems to change.
I'm still hoping for the best.

I don't know how many Mizzou fans will readily admit this, but I would rather have a few final fours and choke em away then only make it to the Elite Eight andyday and twice on Sunday. Roy was(is) a great coach, he just couldn't "win the big one". Coach Stewart, love him to death, was another great coach but he just couldn't make it to the Final Four even. There just comes a time when a change is needed. Hasn't worked out for us yet, but maybe it will work out for Roy this year.

Lots of rumblings. A month or so ago Alden(the AD) made a formal announcement that Snyder would be around next year. IMHO this announcement dosnt mean dirt, just a PR move to shut up the papers and talk radio.
Then last week Slaten, a StL talk radio personality, reported that he "had confirmed from 3 coaching sources" that Coach Snyder was going to resign and take a job with the Denver Nuggets(coincidently owned by Columbia's own Stan Kroenke, MU donor and father of former player Josh Kroenke). Since the initial statement he has not backed anything up and has done nothing but backpeddle.
So God only know what will happen in the end. I think we should keep him around for another season. MUs coaching prospect stock has done nothing but plumet ever since the second or third week of the 03-04 season. On top of all that we have limited scholies and off campus recruting restrictions due to Clemons-Gate. I think it would be hard to get a coach of any decent caliber to come to Mizzou at this point.

What ref calls a questionable foul with 4 seconds to go in a conference tourney championship??? Milwaukee-Wisconsin had no business winning that game. They got a gift tonight. Home-court advantage in a conference championship game. That ain't right.

That was the most ridiculous call I've ever seen. You don't call a foul at that poitn, unless you have no other choice. But this wasn't even a foul in the first place. Hard to watch a team's season end that way.

No shit, I would guess that MCI Center would have more capacity than Charlotte Coliseium. The ACC tourney has had some great history behind it no doubt, shit I still remember like yesterday Randolph Childress unbelieveable hot streak back about a decade ago, but I usually look more forward to the Big East Tourney. I dunno, maybe its just MSG that brings out the best, but there has been some special special games there..... the emergence of Allen Iverson, Rip Hamilton, Kerry Kittles just to name a few in recent history.

be glad. Greensboro is ghetto. i worked there for a couple of years and hated every minute of it. the Coliseum is big (23,000 for basketball), but outside of the games there isn't shit to do there.
I just would have been there the days of the tournament, the rest of the time would have been in Chapel Hill. So long as they have bars I would have been fine.

there's a "Big XII bar" here in Raleigh. the fan clubs for all the Big XII schools can go there and watch all of the games during football and basketball season. most cities have that. look in the local paper in the sports section and they should have a listing for fan club meeting spots.
that's awesome, do the fans get along for the most part? we don't have any bars that are specifically for one conf, besides the Big 12, we do have a place called Buffalo Wild Wings that has all the games. going there tonight actually, beer and wings!!

yeah, I know alot of Tiger fans in Chicagoland that are always complaining because they don't get to see alot of the smaller games unless they have a satellite package. I bet if you called around you could find a sports bar that has ESPNU. I doubt it would be hard to convince them to put a kansas aTm game on one of the TVs.
True.... True.... No doubt, it won't be a challenge for me to find any game if I really want to see it. Chicago pretty mch has an alumni bar for every university I can think of, outside of Texas Christan.

Dickie V. is full of suprises this week, but this one takes the cake..........
NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR – J.J. Redick (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=11144) | Duke
This is a tough choice, since Andrew Bogut has been so important for Utah. Redick has taken his game to a different level by adding a component – taking the ball to the basket aggressively. When he draws fouls, he is Mr. Automatic on the foul line (his 93.7 percent is the best in NCAA history). When he misses, there should be an investigation! He has come through in big games – just ask Wake Forest coach Skip Prosser about that!
my favorite part, "he comes through in big games". like going 0 for everything in the second half at UNC on the final game of the season? good job JJ.

yes apparently they graduate more people than Penn State
We made the mistake of going downtown this year on homecoming weekend, it was insane.

yeah, but usually when a team is on the bubble, the selection com. wants to see one or two big road/ neutral court wins. all three of the games you listed were at home. they're bad on the road and finished terrible.

True, and that could very well cause them to be left out. I don't think they are in our out after last night. There's a lot of basketball to be played this weekend that could determine that. I think they are a team that sits there nervous as hell on Sunday and finds out their fate then.

- There is no way Maryland should make. I don't care if you've swept God, losing three times to Clemson and finishing below .500 in the ACC means no bid. Also, the ACC will get 5 bids, which opens up the door for NC State, VT, or possibly Miami to get the fifth
