looks like some of the teams that were fighting over that last #1 didn't want it to bad.

i think it's getting Jelly tournament ready going through their conference tournament playing teams ranked as high as #25 in the country, hell if they win today they can double their victory's vs. ranked opponents.

today's games, i'll go with

Florida
Georgia Tech
Illinois
Oklahoma St.

:lol

Stewart Mandel currently has, in his bracket, jelly meeting up with GA Tech in the 2nd round. That'd be another 2nd round exit for the mildcats :lol

Buffalo better make it in, they deserve it and they have a great record. Plus it has already been a season of firsts for them. First 20 win season in Division 1, First time they made it to the MAC finals, and now first NCAA tourney bid. I just hope the committee realizes that they definitely deserve a shot over UCLA and Maryland. And if Buffalo, does not make it in, and the above said 2 schools do, then it will be one huge travesty and I will forever have no faith in the committee.

My two cents,

Neumie

only problem is GT will probably not be an 8/9 with a win today. i'm guessing they'll be a 7 seed in the Kansas bracket so they can have a rematch from the new years day OT game that BJ Elder got hurt in. i hope not, but that's my gut feeling.

I actually sort of "pulled against" Duke yesterday, for the first time ever, just cause State needed it so much more. Plus it wouldn't have been to shabby to have an ACC tournament title awaiting me when I got back to Raleigh :D Cause we all know tech can't beat state. But alas, JJ is fucking amazing.

i think florida has about as good a chance at beating kentucky as GA Tech does of beating duke....

Well I can't speak for certain idiots on this board, but I for one, haven't really given anyone too much shit. An objective Kentucky fan can see the fact that this year was in all actuality a very much overachieving effort for Kentucky. When the season started I had Kentucky pegged as a probably a 4 or 5 seed, probably 9 or ten losses, and with luck, a Sweet 16. We've acheived more than I expected, so I'm happy.

Now... as for the dumb cunts who come on here and say stupid shit like Kansas sucks, or Illinois is overrated are just plain blinded by their fandom. Oh well... we all have our idiots. Kentucky has her... Duke as Dukie-V and Seth Davis. :)

What about Washington, folks??? I don't think they'll get a #1 but their RPI is up there in the top 7 or so.

i would love to see washington as a 1 seed...however a lot of people have them as low as a 4 seed (even playing a 12 seeded Penn! :) )...so i think its too big of a reach for a 1

secondly: wow. i was really suprised at the poor showing by KY today..i mean, i thought they'd lose, but not by that much by any means. i dont see them going far into the tourney at all..i also thought things would be a BIT more heated in here...:rolleyes

thirdly: and heres where i fume...WHAT THE FUCK was that foul call on GT at the end of that game...JJ Jesus Reddick was the one that grabbed Jack's jersey strap, there was absolutely no contact on the Media's Golden Boy what-so-ever. But, just like the MLB loves to see the Skankees do well, as does the NCAA make sure that Duke is the posterchild of their association. Bullshit.

unccrombie

if you look at the numbers like they just did on cbs washington has the #1. ok state and louisville still have a shot. nothing is a lock yet. washington is 5-2 vs top 25 teams and duke is 4-2. i think it's between osu and washington personally. the committe may be hesitant about 3/4 of the #1 seeds being from the acc. washington/osu have better rpi's than duke, but duke's sos is 4, i think osu's is like 3? im not sure, but those are my 3 teams (osu, washington, duke) for the fourth #1

clayj41

I'm not trying to be an ass, but I just don't see it happening.

On a side note, I got to see Bracey Wright and Derron Williams play in high school together. They were playing against the high school I go to now, and I must say having both of them on the floor at the same time proved to be a very good combo.

you don't see Illinois winning it? They have been the most consistent team all year long and they have a better chance, or at least as good a chance as any other team. I can see someone saying that UNC or Wake has just as good a shot, but nobody has a BETTER shot at winning it all than Illinois.

It always sucks being the favorite. They've been the odds on favorite in Vegas for months now. I just accept that it's easier to pick against someone than for someone. There are going to be 64 losers out of 65 teams that get their names called in a half hour. That's what makes picking a loser so easy.

I don't think they should be. 18-11 overall, 9-7 in the Big 12. Problem is they lost to Nebraska, Kansas State, Colordao, and ATM. Those are games that are neccesary to win in my opinion.

Coming from the Big 12 definitly helps though, it will be intersting to see if they get in

i always have a problem picking the clear cut favorite to go all the way (in this case i DO think Illinois is the obvious pick to win it all). I just can't bring myself to pick for them and am always looking to go the less conventional route because ANYTHING can happen in this tourney. But honestly i don't see a solid other team really beating Illinois later in this tourney. I don't see Duke beating them, I don't see wake beating them, and the other #1 seeds are going to be arguably not deserving of a #1 seed, so for me theres no other "less convtional" route to go this year..

I did, but I like how the bracket shapes up for them. Kentucky is weak, both MSU and Syracuse are ripe for being upset and Duke is beatable, especially in Austin where there should be more OU fans.

hey, I call it how I see it, and I see OU in the final four. I like to think that I am a pretty impartial sports fan. For example, I am a Packers fan and I hate the Vikings, but the fact of the matter is the Packers are gonna stink next year, 8-8 at the best. The Vikes will kill the Pack. But anyway, looks like OU can make it....I still think the Big Ten is better though :)....I have Illinois winning it all

If I hadn't given you rep within my last 20 rep points, bet your ass you'd get some positive for this.

But rooting for the Illini as well considering what Weber's been through. Backstories like that are what make the tournament so much fun.

alright, i've filled out my bracket three times and i've come out with three different teams getting to the Final Four out of the Syracuse Region. is it because i'm a Kansas fan or is it really that tough of a region?

Well I just got home from work, and it looks like I need to back read because it seems that our favorite person decided to visit us. I have to taunt just a little bit tonight.

So Julie how do you take that Duke just sucked so bad that they got a #1 seed? And that 8 game "streak" against UF, hows that going for you?

All I ask is that everyone not take her as the typical UK fan. Most of us are fairly knowledgable about hoops and will call a spade a spade in terms of talent, etc. Uk's in the top 20 as far as talent, but to get a 2 seed is way overachieving in my mind.

So I just got done filling out my bracket for the first time. And, so far the "upsets" I've got are:

St. Mary's over So. Illinois
Creighton over WVU
NC State over Charlotte
UCLA over TT
Arizona over Ok. State
Cincinnati over UK
GT over Washington

We'll see how many of those actually stay there.

P.S. My word there are a crapload of people on tonight.

too bad I didn't make that friendly wager with ya ;) Glad my Devils held on, despite only one field goal in the last 10.5 minutes.

To the tournament:

-apparently, there is no respect for the big least by the committee, though they got more teams than the ACC and I'm not sure how many of them could hold the ACC's jock (er.... yeah). But Pitt got shit on (that rhymes), and I think BC's seed was too low as well.

-glad arizona lost yesterday. Fuck the overrated wildcats (and I don't mean jelly this time)

-Iowa State??? in the tournament??? and a 9 seed??? get a grip

-I'm glad my wolfpack got in, they stuck us in pretty much the same slot as 2 years ago, only difference was the 7 seed we played was Michigan St. In both situations however, NCSU is clearly the better team, and this year as 2 years ago, we run into UCONN in the second round. They don't have Karen Butler this time around though, so we'll see what happens.

-Too bad Wake didn't get a #1 seed, would have been awesome to not only have 3 ACC #1s, but to have them all in the same state :lol basketball in North Carolina > everyone

-GTech goes from Bubble on Friday to #5 seed? Don't get me wrong, they're fantastic and if they keep playing like this, they are the same team that went to the championship game last year. But that seems a bit odd.

-Wake's still winning the national championship

WVU is on a roll i don't think they are going to lose...in fact, in the first version of my bracket i had them beating Wake...but im not real sure about that...if it was any of the other 2 seeds i might put WVU into the S16 i liked how they played in the tourney so much...what is everyone's thoughts on this? could they POSSIBLY beat wake??

i like NC St too although i really don't see that as an upset as much as bad seeding?

cinci is a bold move but lets not forget that kensucky sucks....

as for washington i have that happening as well but to Louisvl instead of GT...

im sure all of this will change multiple times over the next day... :ugh

They would have to shoot very well, and probably have to break Justin Gray's legs... both of them, I don't think one leg would be enough. He'd still drag himself out there and score approx. 15 pts after the injury.

i dont know how much further ncstate can go. i mean, against fsu they were playing to get back to wake. against wake, hodge was playing to beat us, and look like a dick who deserved to get hit in the nuts the entire game talking to the wake bench, against duke they were playing to burst the bubble. now in the tournament. i think theyre luck will run out soon, i think people overlook uncc because no one has really heard of it. its conference usa, but it has beat cincy, depaul, memphis, and uab. theyre a good team.

I have to pick a 12 over a 5 and I think I'm going with either NM over Villinova or Wis.-Milwa. over Bama.

then youre gonna die alot real soon. ga tech is not a 5 seed. they have been playing alot better as of late, meaing since elder returned.

now for the conspiracy thoery. washington being a 1 seed is a joke, theyre a good squad, but not a 1, wake should be a 1. louisville as a 4, another huge joke. gonzaga as a 3, also not really that fair, especially above lousville. so heres the conspiracy. the committee didnt want 3 #1 seeds from the acc. so they give wake a 2, but should wake be punished by this? no, gonzaga is really the 4 seed, louisville the 3, washington the 2, and wake the 1. they screwed the seeding but kept the matchups the same. its just a thoery ive heard.
