McCants isn't as scoring as much, but his shooting numbers are impressive.

PPG: 16.5 FG%: 51 3PT%: 46 FT%: 74

Jawad Williams has really stepped up though.

PPG: 16.9 FG%: 64 3PT%: 42 FT%: 81 RPG: 6.5

Wayne Simien........PPG 16.9, RPG 11.6

averaging a solid double double. now if he can stay healthy and keep up those numbers he'll have a shot.

as far as UNC goes, Raymond Felton should be their POY candidate. they can't seem to win without him................;)

IU up by 2, Purdue throws the inbound full court with about 2-3 secs left, guy right under the basket somehow catches it, dribbles once and puts it up, makes it and gets fouled

Obviously he missed the shot since you saw the 2nd OT, but it was wild

first of all, come to a home game and ask boeheims wife if we ever leave before a game is over. we'll be sittin behind her in section 123, so feel free to come ask. second of all, dont come to a discussion about college basketball and say that syracuse is the best team in the country every year. we all think that they're great, but if they were the greatest every year, shouldnt that trophy case have more than 1 national championship trophy (it'll have 2 after this year). third, have you watched a game this year or even today? did you see how they couldnt handle full court pressure from providence, of all teams? every fan criticizes their team. boeheims wife critcizes them every game, boeheim even does it in postgame interviews. the next game they play, they'll be able to handle full court pressure. thats one of the things that makes boeheim one of the top coaches in the nation. and last, you're from syracuse, but like miami football? i wish i could burn you at the stake. who cares how bad the teams have been, miami is miami.

First, I don't care where you sit. I sat behind the Orangemen bench for 12 years, so eat me. Second, I never said they were the best in the nation. I said they were the best in the nation in "MY OPINION". Why do people on here always rearrange what i say? Third, no. I live in Florida. Unfortunately, i dont have that lugury of watching them every game, sorry. Finally, I saw Miami play Syracuse last year in the Orange Bowl, wearing my #5 Orange football jersey, the only one there screaming my head off rooting for Syracuse.

And to you burning me at the stake: fuck a chicken, lick a chicken, suck a chicken, beat a chicken, eat a chicken like it's a big fat....

I love Syracuse with all my heart, but their football team isn't fun to watch. Miami is. When you watch syracuse, it's like watching a group of old men play. I went to the bowl game in Orlando and they looked slower then a pop-warner team. Who wants to root for a team that uses the run to set up the pass. This isn't the 70's when Penn State would run all over teams using that kind of offense

I'm not bashing anyone, but I don't get that. Personally here's how my teams go:

College Football: FSU - since birth (family thing, and didn't have basketball for the longest time)
College Basketball: Duke - 14 years
Baseball: Seattle Mariners- 20 years (father got stationed out there, saw my first game at the Kingdome)
Hockey: Tampa Bay Lightning- 3 years (someone took it upon themselves to teach a FL girl hockey)
NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 12 years (moved down here saw my first game at The Old Sombrero)
NBA: Hate it

Well, I've been a Duke fan 16 years, so that's that :) Then I came here cause I couldn't afford Duke, but I wasn't going to just lose allegiance to my lifetime favorite team.

I'm an Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons fan because of my Dad, but I'm a bigger Eagles fan--just a random team I latched onto when I was very, very young, maybe I liked the colors :) Then I started following the Flyers when I got into hockey, simply because of how much I liked the Eagles.

I went to a super bowl party for the packers/broncos. The host pulls my friend aside (the guy that invited me) and blasts him for bringing a girl to a foot ball party. Needless to say he figures out that I actually like and know football. Around halftime he looks at me and says"Thank God you're cool. I thought I was gonna have to listen to how ugly the new broncos uniforms are all day." To which I had to respond. How do you let that go?

Kansas has a thing for losing games i don't see coming, that's why i picked it.

Miami has beat the worst teams in the ACC, and barely beat them for the most part. Duke should beat the hell out of them.

Should beat the hell out of them, but you have to respect that Duke will be on the road short a couple of guys. I'm pretty damn sure that UM fans will be up for Duke on their floor for the first time. Could be more of a game than most think it will be. Also Miami gets to be on ESPN.

have you seen that ass-hole of a basketball gym that Miami plays in?:lol :lol :lol
i had the complete misfortune of watching them play NC State on tv last week (local game was showed over the Kansas/Kentucky game last Sunday, so you could imagine my displeasure) It looked like an old musty high school gym that was being used to shoot a rap video. Have fun playing in that dump.

i do see your point about playing with little or no bench, but i think you'll be fine.

Actually I haven't bothered to watch them play this season (or any other), just looked at how they've been doing. Now that I think about it there could be more Duke fans. Even if they pack the place Duke does love to basically tell a crowd "shut the hell up this is our gym right now". Especially the little guys that think they're ready to play with the big boys.

gotta make sure every game that is televised has at least one ranked team playing.....

my big question, how is UConn still ranked 2 spots higher than Oklahoma?? UNC is still overrated (damn that Santa Clara loss sure looks ugly in those RPI's) BC underrated, theyve played just as difficult of a schedule as Duke has played up to this point....could make the Big East a real pain for Syracuse. last unbeaten team this year, I'd have to agree with seekuppig, with Duke. I had originally looked at KU's frist loss coming at Villanova next Sat. too, but after the way I saw the D play again on Saturday.... I dont know, its really tough to get a decent look against this team... it maybe a good while before they see one in the "L" column.

I think he talking more in the way that UNC's loss is not being counted against them the way most teams have a loss is counted against them. Imagine how it would be right now if it was Illinois with the loss to Santa Clara. Everyone would have written them off as soon as it happened. But, because it's UNC they get the benefit of the doubt.

BC has not lost and is ranked below UNC.
Syracuse lost 1 game to Oklahoma St and is ranked below UNC.
Kentucky had 2 losses at the hands of KU and UNC on the road and is below UNC.

UNC has two losses to Santa Clara and Wake Forest, has #9 RPI, yet is ranked higher than all the teams mentioned above. The Heels are overrated right now. Early conference play indicates that voters are not gonna penalize a team too heavly for losing an ACC game, regardless of by how many you lose or where it is played....

This is why I didn't care about that game. No matter who won ESPN will treat both teams the same way, and continue to talk them up. It isn't like they have a conflict of interest because they show lots of ACC games.

The ACC is the best in the country but they are still over rated and over discussed every year.

The ACC is absolutely the toughest conference to play in year in and year out. But in the past 10 years only 2 NCAA champions from the ACC (Big East 3, Pac-10 2, SEC 2, Big Ten 1).

Is there another conference that has the number of teams that could get in every year? I'm trying to talk up the ACC or down any other conference. It's just that the talent and ability so equally spread throughout the rest of the conferences. Right now there isn't another conference with a concentrated wealth of talented teams.

Basically the polls are indicating right now that the #3 best team in the ACC is better than the best of what the Big East has to offer..... you'll see the tables turn on this next year. The argument even further solitifies how great the tourney is..... as much as it hurts to say, the Big XII was widely consdiered the best in country a few years back, with 4 teams in the Top 12.... Syracuse beat them all and won.

BC/SU haven't really been tested. The big east is much weaker than the ACC. although SU comes to play at tourney time, got to give them that. it's a shame ND is sucking I got tickets for the ND/SU game in February, hopefully it'll be like the one in south bend

"I'm glad Fred said that because I've been in the league for 16 years and I know they do that," Williams said of giving the Duke-UNC games preferred treatment. "The year after we won the national title, Duke-Carolina was still the ultimate game. It's always the last ACC game. It makes every other team in the league look secondary. That's what I object to. Whoever is good should get the publicity.
