What happened at the end of the SDSU/IU game?
big dude hits a 3 for IU with 3.3 secs to go. On the inbound pass for SDSU, the guy throws it out of bounds all the way on the other end of the court. IU ball, quick foul, IU hits both ft's. Game over.

Bad day for me, not very please. I knew the upsets were coming, I just picked the wrong ones.
And so it goes, the good news tomorrow. I'm only rooting for 4 upsets and no real major ones.
N.C. State over California
UAB over Kentucky
Wisconsin over Arizona
Northern Iowa over Georgetown

Well my brackets went to hell after like the first 3 games played, but my team won big tonight:D
It was clear this was not Syracuse's best game/effort. They couldn't hit open shots when they had them etc. It was a good game, but I'm sooo happy A&M is moving on. IF (and that's a big IF) we beat LSU, I'm going to buy/find/steal a ticket to go watch us play Duke at Atlanta. I haven't this excited about our bball team EVER. agreed. We didn't see any of the game here in Lincoln but from the sounds of it, Gerry didn't have his best day and neither did Syracuse. I called the upset and I'm surprised a lot of people bought into the hype of the cuse. yeah they're good but they just got hot at the right time in the big east. I doubt that they're that much better than syracuse but A&M is playing very good ball right now.

Screw Baby Shaq. Tyrus Thomas is a freaking animal who is back from injury. He played awesome today. Now combine that with Baby Shaq, and our big guys have absolute hell to deal with down low. Unless LSU gets in foul trouble, I think this might very well be our hardest game of the year (even moreso than UT or KU). LSU just got a lot better with Thomas back from injury.

Yeah, they suck. It wasn't really an upset. I said last week that they shouldn't be in the tournement. I really don't think they were one of the best 64 teams. They would be one and done in the NIT tourney right now. Just a major disappointment. After the game Sampson said this is the first team he's had that practiced harder then they played. A lack of effort and no heart. Very uncharacteristic of OU teams.

anyone that thinks A&M beating Syracuse was an upset hasn't watched a lot of basketball this year. Syracuse isn't any better today than they were at this time a week ago. they got hot during their conference tourney and knocked down some shots and all of a sudden they're one of the best 23 teams in the country? probably not. their seeding was a joke and it showed today.

Good luck with yalls game tomorrow. I don't think yall are going to have too much trouble. The first couple of min might be rough to watch (as it is with any team), but once yall settle down, KU is going to cruise. I love watching the Jayhawks play. I really struggled between Kansas and Pitt. I was pretty sure one of those two was going to go to the final 4. I had Kansas through that far, but last night I switched to Pitt. So, assuming Ku and Pitt win tommorow, I have Pitt beating KU next round.
edit: I'm pretty sure that switch is going to fuck me. I had OU going pretty far, then last night, I switched them to losing in the second round. So, one switched saved me, the pitt ku one will fuck me.

True, but you aren't off base if you pick UT to win it all or make the Final 4. If your asking me, I would say it's clear UT is by far a better team than their last game against Duke. You could even argue Duke his digressed(sp?) since that game as well. If they match up in the Elite 8, it'll be totally different than their last matchup.
Texas has all the tools to win it all this year. I could go on and on and tell you why I think they are a good fit to take it all, but then I would hate myself;) But for real, outside of the Aggie players, Aldridge is my favorite player to watch when he brings his A game. He's got all the fundemntals and moves a post needs to succeed, not to mention he had the most ridiculous sky-hook (Kareem style) when yall played @C.S.

wow, I've never heard such kind words about UT from an Aggie.
Though your logic makes sense, so in that way, you're not a complete traitor;).
If Duke had beat UT by 10 or 15, I'd have probly picked UT to upset Duke. But Duke beating UT by 30 or so, had to fuck with UT's heads. Thus I think Duke will beat Texas by about 8 or 12, should they meet in the E8.

It depends greatly on whether or not Aldridge and Tucker stay or leave. And I think that depends a lot on how they play in this tourny. Aldridge has said that he's probably going to stay, but a strong tournament run could lock him into a top 3 draft pick and A LOT of NBA money. Tucker has had grade issues and seems to have cleared that up. I really don't know the chances of him leaving
With that being said. If they both stay, I would say UT is a top 5 team easily. This Kevin Durant kid they have coming in from Maryland is the 2nd best player in the nation in high school. He will probably be the 3rd best player on the team when he walks in for the first day of practice (assuming aldridge and tucker stay). If one Aldridge/Tucker leave, I would say UT is a top 15 team. Yalls fresh class coming in has a lot of upside and will add some nice depth. If both leave, then I'm not sure where that would leave you really, but you would still have a nice team with some questions down low.
I think A&M will be top 25 to start next season. We only lose one starter who is a non-scholarship walk on. We have the most physical post player in the BigXII to go alongside one of the best gaurds. A&M is still a very raw team. Gillispie's recruiting classes are about to emerge and will really show in his system. The incoming freshman are going to be really good with 2 incoming freshman players contributing immediately.

Pretty bad day for me. 11-5, plus I had San Diego State in the Sweet 16 and Marquette in the Elite 8. I can't believe Marquette lost... Jean Felix is one of those names that I will forever remember for screwing up my bracket. That guy was ON FIRE yesterday. Oh well... I care more about watching some quality basketball than I do about getting all my picks, and I definitely got that yesterday (over 9 hours of basketball in one day!). I actually found myself rooting against a couple teams I picked (Tennessee for one).
I've always considered the first round to be for showing off... it's the later rounds where people actually win these pools.

I'm a little nervous about Murray State tonight. I haven't seen them play this year, but I've heard they like to slow the game down a lot. That was Virginia's strategy in the last game against UNC, and it worked pretty well. If the Heels don't rebound well, I think this one could be close.

We have:
Villanova: 8
Connecticut: 3
Syracuse: 1
Duke: 1
Gonzaga: 1
UCLA: 1
My roomate picked Syracuse. Not really sure why, I think it's because the only Syracuse games he really watched were the Big East Tournament.
I am the lone pick for UCLA. I'm hoping they continue to prove that they are the Best of All-Time.

We weren't going to win a National Championship this year. Anyone who thought otherwise was a fool. Next year, we aren't going to be very good. We won't have a leader and the team is going to struggle against another tough Big East schedule.
Once we can get a true point guard like Jason Hart or Allen Griffen we will improve. Hopefully the two point guards we recruited for 2007 will show us something special. Antonio Jardine is the 7th best High School point guard and we also have Johnny Flynn coming in. Flynn's size is a concern, but it's possible that they could provide what we are lacking.
Combine Jardine with Arinze Onuaku, Eric Devendorf and Paul Harris and we are looking pretty good for 2007 or 2008.

Honestly, I don't think that Greg Robinson was the problem in and of itself.
The problem was that he was trying to run a west coast offense with players who were recruited for a option offense. It's the same exact thing that Nebraska went through just two years ago and I truely expect that Nebraska is going to be ridiculous this year and that Syracuse is going to improve drastically when we have a quarterback who fits our offense.

MMOD is working perfect for me. I'm watching highlights from yesterday's games. Of course, I'm at work where we have cable internet. At home I have DSL, and I got an Internet Explorer error everytime I tried to open it there. When MMOD is working, I'd give it a B+.

no, i don't. if it's anything about this team, it's inconsistency. and they're a group who will get cocky with a big lead like that and blow it. wisconsin will come back in the second half. i only hope lute can get them their composure back to have enough to make it to the end of the game.

It's too bad the way things fell yesterday. I realized I actually had Boston College winning, it was George Washington who I didn't have.
Texas A&M won soundingly, but Gerry McNamara was injured.
Indiana won by 4 in the final seconds of the game.
George Washington won by 3.
Alabama won by 5 at the end.
Wichita St. won soundingly but I should have remembered how Seton Hall played most of the year.

what's the deal with the BigXII schools? UT is letting Penn hang around, and KU is trailing Bradley by 11 right now. What gives?

not looking good for Kansas, glad I have them losing to Pitt next round anyway... I saw a lot of you have them going to the F4. Have fun stressing over the rest of this game.

this is great. You'd thjink CBS would put on the UNC game, 15 seconds and a 2 point game.
Yet, i'm watching UAB-UK still.

Instead of goint to the UNC game, the camera stays on to watch the Kentucky cheerleaders
This is really bad coverage.

It's official. I have 16/16 Sweet 16 teams into the 2nd round.

looks like Kentucky's gonna pull it out. That makes me 27-5 in the first round and I had all 5 losses losing in the next round anyway.

I had kansas winning as well, but I'd rather see upsets than a bracket that I made. Hell, this UK game isn't over yet.

nice. im glad im not the only one. and since you put thought into your picks, mine look even better. i just picked gtown because they accepted me into GPPI. GW would be beating duke right now if their deadline wasnt in april
I saw what Georgetown did in the Big East this year and their offense can really cause matchup problems for people. Not to mention that Roy Hibbert is a fucking monster.

Hey Dan, our baseball team is ranked 21st and 17-4 now. Our best start in years. We're at 11th ranked Arizona St for three games this weekend.
:thumbsup Looks like there will be some good competition in Big X1I baseball this year.

Kind of like the first round matchups that were "real winners"?
Boston College and North Carolina are lucky to still be in the tourney.
I like the following teams, in this order
West Virgina
LSU
Pitt
BC
UW-Milwaukee
George Mason

To save my chances of winning, I'm going to need
Texas A&M to beat LSU
Bucknell to beat Memphis
Bradley to beat Pittsburgh
Wichita St. to beat Tennessee
and Duke, WVU, Texas, Gonzaga, UCLA, UConn, Illinois, UNC, Villanova, BC, Florida, and Ohio State can not lose!

That's what I'm noticing. BC and Kansas. Not that they aren't good enough to make it to the Final Four, but usually the trendy picks that everyone jumps on don't make it.
I wish I would have listened to this guy.
Edit: I'm glad I did listen to this guy.
Dustin, my condolences. Good year though and this will only make those freshmen, or I guess Sophomores stronger. I'm sure they won't want to feel like they do now again.
