Hey all im in the market to buy a new acoustic electric. I dont have the money to buy a Taylor because im still paying off my $1200 electric. So ive been looking at a Dean Exotica Radiant. They say that nothing comes closer to Taylor sound. If anyone has one or has played one let me know what you think.

It depends on what Taylor sound you think you're going for, too. There's many distinct sounds with guitars which I'm sure you know.
At the end of the day, you're going to be hard-pressed to make a $350 guitar sound like a $3,200 guitar.
Think of it this way... will a Chevy Cavalier perform like a Corvette?

True, the sound i like in a guitar would be one with a warm tone when fingerpicking, and crunchy sound (which i can solve that with a pair of elixer's) when strumming. If i would go with a Taylor i think i would try to either get a new 514ce or find a used 814ce. Hard tellin.

One of my good friends his name is John Yoder (Look out you might hear about him) just upgraded from a 314ce to a 714ce and that guitar's tone would have to be the best of whats around:) (favorite song right now). He does a lot of fingerpicking that is just amazing. But yeah it's so hard not to just go with a Taylor. We'll see
